[Q] Cm7 help! - Wildfire General

Hello,
I've had my wildfire now for around 8 months, ive had lot of different roms, radios and Kernels. if i'm being honest it got myself in a right mess with it all and i dont know what on my phone no more! I just need a little bit of help from someone showing me a good rom (i would like to use cm7) but what Kernel and radio to use with it.
Thank you
Dave King

CM7 comes with a nice kernel that is OCable from the start, so no need to flash a new one.
As for the radio, you should only re-flash it if GPS doesn't work. (http://rom.tat.tw/wildfire/wildpuzzlerom/radio/Radio_13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10.zip)

Anyone knows how to get Bluetooth to work in CM 7.0.3?

What is the issue. It works. Receiving APk files is some issue I think. If so rename apk to zip and transfer it to wildfire. Then use file manager on wildfire to rename it to apk again.
Also using "Bluetooth file transfer" application is good.

I am already using that app, it's just that I can't get my phone to send any file (whatever the extension is) to my MAC. If I go to 'Bluetooth devices', I get 'paired, but not connected' right underneath the paired device's name.

Maybe the issue with that Mac.
With that app, I can share my entire sdcard contents to PC over FTP.

Go here and download this:
w w w.kanged.net/mirror/gapps/gapps-passion-FRF91-signed.zip
(remove the spaces in www)
Unzip this file either in your phone or on PC then go to SYSTEM - APP. In there is 2 files "CarHomeLauncher" and "CarHomeGoogle" you need to install both of these using an apl installed like ASTRO. Thats it simple. I have it running on my phone am usin LeeDROID SENSE rom, works on all sense roms
Attached both the files here. Install them both and then you should be good to
very useful app.

I got it installed with no error on Offical Froyo Sense Rom. Probably works with Sense roms only, you should try the CM one, that should work even on nonSense ....
Which one is there an error with, Htc Car Panel or the Google Car Home? Car Panel does need Sense.
Which rom are you using to have errors with the apk?

I'm on stock ROM (with latest update).
Tried downloading gapps from CM but still have the error message. gotta admit I don't know why :s
i have the same errors here guys, tried both!!
First one posted works fine for me thankyou.
I tried both the HTC Car Home App, and the stock Google One. While I like the simplicity of both, one big letdown is that you can't change the shortcuts!!!
The HTC Car Home has only one screen with 6 shortcuts, but one is wasted on the Footprint App, want to replace that with a shortcut for example to dial my gf ! Anyone managed to do that?
The Google one is even worse, because while it has two screens, with the second hone having 3! empty slots, I havent been able to even fill these slots with custom shortcuts?
Anyone had more luck than me in finding a method of adding their own shortcuts?
It's crapware anyway. Just a screen with big icons. *shrug*

[APP] Sending files from PC to GalaxyS via wireless internet

Hi.
I'm introducing an awsome application made by Samsung.
Its name is SnapNGo.
There are two files which are sng_setup.exe and SnapNGo.apk.
SnapNGo.apk is installed on your device and sng_setup.exe is on your PC.
In order to use them, those two machines must be online.
After installation both of them, turn on the Snap N' Go file in your PC.
And then turn on the SnapNGo application in your device as well.
You must see the camera screen.
Default setting is "from PC to Device".
If you want to pull a file out from PC, just take its photo.
Put the file icon in the middle of Camera's focusing box and press shoot button.
That's all. Your file will be located in /sdcard/SnapNGo/
Here's the attachment's link. It's 9.07MB zipped.
attachment here
A sad thing is that it doesn't work on Froyo, at least with mine.
edit : Oh my god.. there is the place where I should've written down this kind of thread.
I'm sorry, how can I move this to there?
HAHAH !!! it works
This a really nice app thanks buddy

from I9000 to PC : there are only a few files supported. jpgs or something.
PC client crash on Windows 7 x64.
At least on mine :/

Don't suppose an x64 version was available? (I did try to find the page but couldn't)
You may want to try SwiFTP, it does ftp over wifi. It's a 1 click setup and you can then access it with any machine on the network. Super fast and easy.
many thanks for this helpfull program, which works perfictily ob the latest orange froyo 2.2.
however, there is newer addition of it, if some one can bring it to us, that would be great.

Thanks guys, but we have a winner thanks for the suggestion, this is exactly what i was looking for, if only i could select multiple folders though.
I gave all u a thanks button
I use wifi file explorer to move stuff to and from my phone. It isn't as slick as showing up in your file explorer, but it gives you web access from any computer on the network.

Send file over Bluetooth or otherwise...?

I keep getting an error that says that I some service doesn't work with the phone and that I can only upload. When I upload, it doesn't work. Perhaps the G2 doesn't support Bluetooth file transfers. Is that possible?
Do you need it installed on both devices?

Yes you have to install the app on both devices. I am not familiar with the G2 as I use it with D1 and the A500. From what I remember reading a while back the android BT is lacking on some of the stack that allows for file transfers. This app fixes it.

Just to let you know I am able to transfer files from the a500 to my Samsung galaxy and vice versa using the stock bluetooth on both devices. On the a500 I used file manager hd and selected share via bluetooth. Once they both connect the files transfer without any problems.
I think default android bluetooth filetransfer only allows certain types of files, like .jpg's and some other media.
Not 100% sure though, but I never managed to send files like apk's.
Bluetooth File Transfer worked perfectly and is actually a pretty cool app! Thanks!
Dropbox works too. I use it across my phone, tablet, and computer.

I use the bluetooth add-on for astro, no problems getting stuff to or from my DZ, which is the same hardware as the g2.

[Q] Windows Bluetooth Drivers?

Windows 7 is not finding any drivers for my G2 when i try to pair it with my computer. My G2 is currently running CM7 7.0.3, not sure if that matters or not. I did a little bit of googling, and couldn't find anything. I also couldn't find anything on the forums concerning the G2. I'm not sure if it's just the ROM I'm running, or even the kernel I'm using.
Download the android sdk and install it on your pc
Search for the sdk on google that should do it
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Funny, I have the SDK installed. I'm having it run updates now though, and I'll look for bluetooth drivers in the manager as well.
SDK has nothing to do with it. What bluetooth profile are you trying to connect? PAN, serial port, modem?
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using Tapatalk
Well, I'm just having the computer pair with the phone by making the phone discoverable. Some of the modes may have installed correctly, but I'm not sure. Bluetooth file push isn't working in astro, however that maybe some incompatibility with astro and cm7...
Just checked the settings, and the "supported" services are PandoraLink and ServicesProxy. I just had the phone pair with the computer this time around with the same result.
Open Pandora and go into settings to turn off "Bluetooth for automotive" then try again. That is for the Microsoft Sync service, so this may be the issue.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using Tapatalk
Well, that fixed the missing device driver problem, but Astro still can't send a file over bluetooth... If saying send by bluetooth, it says file not sent, if by Astro Bluetooth, it says push failed, trying ftp, file transfer failed.

Just ran across this thread. My g2 also can't send a file. I can recieve a file from my laptop but not send one. I have tried astro and also some free bluetooth send/rec pgm from market. Also i have tried 2 different radios and 3 different roms (doubleshot, cm7 and myvision).
