My gf has palm Pre + on AT&T, and the thing keeps loosing, or adding time randomly. In the last two days alone it has lost it's way 8 times
We've shut down the network time, and the normal culprit but it is just going crazy atm, and only 2 months on this phone to boot.
So has anyone else had anything remotely similiar to this, and how did you handle it?
clock sync might work, i got it from the app catalog

Just bought it last week. The phone did this on the 1st and second day i had it, but hasn't don't it for the last 3 days. Bestbuy said I can exchange it, but do you guys think its worth the hastle? (contacts, apps settings will be gone). Could it have just been an app acting funny, but now its ok (perhaps its got something to do with leaving on GPS or wi-fi?)...what do you guys recommend?
Also, some people have complained about gps issues, but i have not had any issues, locks in seconds. Is this a hit or miss thing? If i exchange it, could i be stuck with that problem? I live in vancouver...maybe it has something to do with location? Thanks
I have same problem..I have two Samsung Vibrant..just got them few days ago and both shuts off automaticallly...
i asked this few days ago someone must know something, i finally got out of the windows habit fell in lvoe with android and this issue is reallly getting on my breasts
ok i have been usuing messenger in my pocket for a year no more costly sms and isntant contact with my fiance all day bad news for my employer but it works for me..
so im+on android has the feature to keep 3g connected while screen is of or phone sleeps and so i get my im's with a beep as soon as my girl send me one just how it should be right.. but no other im app works in sleep mode!!!!
im+ devs killed the app fpr everyone on friday night and went home for the weekend...
WHY CANT I FIND AND APP THAT DOES WHAT IM+ DOES AND HOLD DATA ON IN SLEEP MODE, THEN I CAN USE ANY IM APP I WANT RIGHT? I TRIED THOSE PROGRAMS THAT SEND PACKETS EVERY 3 SECODNS AND ALL THAT STILL NO OTHER IM WORKS FOR MORE THAN 1 FEW MINUTES AFTER SCREEN GOES OFF
one more point is data doesnt turn off as soon as screen goes of data remains for a few minutes so is there a way of rooting and changing this time to something like forever or a day..
DATA ON WHEN PHONE IS ASLEEP ANYONE OMFG........
P.S. I SEEN A PHONE WITH DATA ON ALWAYS SETTING IN THE MAIN WIRELESS / NETWORKS SETTINGS, IS THIS PART OF ANDROID 2.2 I HAVNT SEEN IT ON 1.6 OR 2.1 SOMEONE HELP
you should enable background data (although i thought it was enabled on default?). It is in settings -> sync (or something similar, i don't have the phone here right now).
google talk has been working for me and my girlfriend for the last 6 months.. the only times it didn't work was probably because the process got killed by android..
Hi everyone I preordered on the first day and I got one of the first batches I guess. Well up until a few days ago everything went well with the phone. But 2 days ago i put my phone in my pocket at work and 4 hours later I pull it out during lunch break and my phone was completely erased. It went back to stock asking for me to enter my google account. At first i thought that launcher pro was closed and i was back at the original home screen but everything was actually erased. I couldn't believe it. I never had this happen on any of my previous phones.. So I reinstalled everything and the same thing happened the next day but this time my phone was on and launcher pro kept force closing and it was stuck in a loop. Then i went to reboot and the phone was completely erased again. Is this apart of that rootkit chip that i have been hearing about? I havent even tried the temp root. When I think about it i have just started using launcher pro a few days ago. Could that be the problem? For now I wont use launcher pro and see what happens and I will keep yall updated. And thanks for any help that you can provide.
LAWL.... and the NAND strikes back.... if it happens consistently thatn it might be time to exchange for another oner
That happened to me once too. I also thought it might have been an adw launcher issue. Ive been back to the standard launcher for about a week now without any issues, but I dont really know if that was the problem
I don't know if Launcher Pro might be the problem. That was probably the first thing I installed when I received the phone. I haven't had this happened to me and I'm using the Visionary temp root.
ok so far since i dont have launcher pro installed everything is working fine no reboots today from what i can tell.
I had the same exact problem. I go to sleep, wake up to look at my phone to send a text.. and all of my text are removed. This happened yesterday, I was soo mad I contacted Tmobile and they told me some stupid stuff like get a sms backup.. I just paid 300 dollars for a phone, which was no problem, but we as customers shouldn't have to backup our text every 2 days.. that is redic to me. I am the type of person that likes to keep my LOGS of my text so I really like having them there even from my old G1 3 years ago I try to keep them. old pictures that girls send me via text I want to keep that.... and keep in mind I don't use launcher pro just because of the problems i've been hearing it has. SO this happened on a Stock, never tried the temp root tmobile G2. crazy huh? and I don't have insurance on it, so I am kinda put in a bad position. ANy suggestions? it's past my 14 days. Keep in mind I REALLY love this phone though, just that was too much for me. I don't want to go to sleep and wake up with every text removed ever again. Oh and I get random reboots.. prolly 2 a day. HOpfully this update I am hearing about from androidspin will stop all those problems.. is it me or does the G2 seem to have worst reception than the G1? sorry for the long message, just wanted to vent to other G2 users.. I love the phone though, best phone ever if working correctly
Try waking with no software on your phone. That happen 36 hours after getting the phone. Did a recovery and everything came back With the exception of all my personal stuff. Funny thing is whatever happened In the middle of the night fried my sim. Everything is good now going on 2 weeks. I absolutely love this phone.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
In November I had bought 2 Samsung Galaxy S5's from Walmart through Straight Talk. One for me and my Wife. They worked perfectly until about the middle of March, and my Wife's phone had kept restarting non stop whether she was on it or not. Sometimes more than once in a 30 second span. Then one day it didn't do it for about 2 days.. then MY PHONE starts doing it. Non stop all throughout the night and just die from battery drainage. I eventually contact Straight Talk to do a swap for a different one since I still had warranty. It takes them about 10 days total for me to get my replacement. The entire time my phone was sent out my Wife's never restarted or acted up once. I get my replacement yesterday and mine phone is running great and hers tonight just RESTARTED ON IT'S OWN. I'm very confused because it seems are phone's are making one another restart? I have heard problems of the S5's restarting for no real reason at all, but why would hers be doing it only when I had gotten mine back up and running? I'm seriously out of answers and tired of this restarting issue happening. We have tried factory reset, freeing up space, deleting all apps, safe mode, clearing cache often, and the problem still persists. If anyone could help, I would be truly thankful!
So i've bought my one plus 6t about 2 months ago and i've had this problem with the internet connection from the beginning. Basically after a period of using it (like 1 hour/1 hour and a half) the connection would stop working, completely... Wifi, data everything would stop working until i rebooted the phone and it got back to normal. After the upgrade to android 10.3.0 the problem seemed to be gone but i discovered later that it just "changed". Now sometimes the connection goes really bad (like doesn't even load a song from spotify) for like 1-5 minutes and than returns normal again; this loop can go on for a lot and it is really annoying.
I don't know what casued this problem in the beginning and why it's happening now. I think there might be a stock problem with the network card but i don't know for sure and i don't know how to check. I already reset the phone once (the partial one that keeps all the photos and data in the phone) after the 10.3.0 upgrade but the problem remains.
If someone knows how to fix this/why this is happening please help me, i really don't know what to do at this point.
I would do backup and factory reset if not you can send to oneplus centre but they will do that before any repairs anyway.
I have had a similar problem on 10.3.1 and at least 1 if not 2 updates prior to the this one.
What happens go for me though, is when at home, (haven't had it happen anywhere else), connected to wifi or not, the phone randomly loses all connection to my sim. It comes back almost instantly but still quite annoying and until this post I haven't heard of it happening to anyone else, not that I have come across, at least.
And I know it's not because of where I'm at in the house or anything cause I've had the phone a year now and the problem just started within the last month or so.
Insight on this would be awesome.
I have also noticed weird connectivity drops to no service and back. that only happens rarely and will restore i seconds. havent annoyed me that much that i needed to do something about it. I travel lots with train, and when this happens on train it seems to have more difficult to connect back. it does eventually but might be enough to drop streaming music from playing.
There is definitely something going on with Oneplus and APNs. (OP7 sms and mms issues etc)
I Recommend doing a full backup with Oneplus Switch and restoring factory defaults. Then you can restore backup. Most likely fixes issue that bad to same condition as ours. if it doesnt, take it to warranty.
