Impossible to root. - Milestone 2 General

First, I'm sorry for my bad english...
I'm not able to do root. I tried in Windows 7 HP x64 and Debian 6 with momo.
I attach a screenshot of the block.
z4root doesn't work and in Debian on momo is stopping on "chmod psneuter..."
Help me please!

If you are on 2.2.2, try GingerBreak

Or superoneclick
Sent from my MotoA953 using Tapatalk

I successfully rooted mine with SuperOneClick on 2.2.2 Argentina FW.

For me, Gingerbreak did it's job fine on 2.2.2 DACH

It seems like you didn't enable USB Debugging on Settings-> Applications->Development.

you need to instal pccompanion first
Z4root don't work with latest firmware. You must use SuperOneClick from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=906195
Or with latest FlashTool you can root phone too
I rooted with flashtool, its great and has other options too.

Did you enable the USB debugging mode?
And X8 drivers already installed?

DROID2 Gingerbread Update

Some users report that the OTA update (Android 2.3.3) is live right now.
Check your updates Settings>About phone>System updates and report issues.
It is, got it last night on the wife's D2.
Have they rooted it yet? I need to get titanium backup on there and restore her apps, she's freaking out!
Yes just use droid 3 method

Sadly, this didn't work for me. Has the droid 3 method worked for anyone else?
It didn't work for you? Did you follow the instructions correctly? No one has reported any problems with it so far
Sent from my DROID2 GLOBAL running Leaked Rooted Gingerbread!
Had to try it twice, first time didn't recognize it. Worked fine.
Working great for me. I SBF'd back to stock from the gingerbread leak, downloaded and installed the update over wifi in about 10 minutes. Rooted using the D3 method and flashed the latest CM7GB. Working like a boss.

Ran it several times, I see the SU binary in the system/bin directory and busybox, but barnacle and titanium are unable to obtain root.
Well I changed the script from xbin to bin and it seems to work now. Still unable to get Barnacle going, but closer.
That figures. Day after i leave big red and get my g2x, gb goes live for the d2 lol. niiiiice

Depends which app. I use Barnacle, works great still.
I rooted using: http://www.psouza4.com/droid3/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1240130
This worked for me to root after the OTA.
How come says its rooted but when I use WiFi tether it says I'm not

Go to your app drawer and look for a skull and crossbones Superuser app. Click it and see if you can add wifi tether to the list. If that icon is not there, you're not rooted.
It's there but when I press to turn it on it says I'm not rooted

I would run one click root again, if that does not work, SBF back to stock and then re-flash GB OTA and root once more.
Is there some method to root without a computer, my droid 2 has the usb port broken...thanks

nevermind...............
That is such BS can't even sbf back! Screw moto!
You can sbf to .621 only
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda premium
The way to get root found! Install sbf from attached archive and then use the "DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su" (also attached in the archive) to get root. All thanks for finding this method going to bukolov1 from Ukraine.

Why is the sbf file labeled as 809_2.3.5 if it is for the DX and supposed to be 4.5.621?
This rom is actually for the Milestone X, it does flash, however I cannot use *228 to get my phone on the network.
Has anyone tried zergrushing their .621?
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201
Zergrushing .621 does not work

This is not really a root method. This flashes Milestone X rom on the Droid X, which does actually root, but the baseband is incompatible and will not work in the U.S. So you can have a rooted phone, which you can't actually use. It might be possible to CWM over the Milestone X ROM and flash a new baseband.. if I could find one.

I've heard of people using the file to SBF via Linux then flash CM9 and have a working radio.

I have not tried it, I'm being safe and not taking the OTA.
If you are on .621, though, it's at least worth a shot.

This method works. My DX's version is 621, you can remove RADIO in MB809_2.3.5.SBF use "SBFCodec.exe", remove RDL1 and CG3, save this file as no radio SBF, flash this to your DX, your DX will run under BP_C_01.09.15P, this is Verizon's baseband.
yup, it works.

This method does work. If you use the linux sbf_flash method it will not overwrite the baseband and you will keep your data connection. If you use RSD_Lite in Windows it will overwrite the baseband and you will lose your data connection capabilities.
I made my laptop a dual boot with Windows and Ubuntu just for this because I was stuck on .621 without root and had tried to flash the Milestone X .604 via Windows and couldn't get the data to work (I could've called Verizon support and had them reset it but I decided to give flashing in linux a go). So I followed posted instructions at the other sites and flashed it in linux and got root back with baseband still active.
Now I'm test driving a CM9 beta on it I got off of Rootzwiki. I am already up for renewal for my Verizon contract so I can get almost any phone they have for free or perhaps $100 out of pocket after all the discounts (new every two, loyalty, trade in of current phone) but I am waiting for the Droid Fighter to drop in about a month. It's rumored to be a quad-core Motorola phone with a 4.7 inch screen and 4G.
User 1KDS over at DroidXForums is working on making a bootable linux image (he already has a bunch) that will incorporate this Milestone X sbf for those of us that do not or did not have a linux machine handy.

Trouble with script manager

I just got my phone in today, activated it and all that good stuff. Now im having issues getting script manager and busybox working. Can someone help me since I come from the htc side of android? Thanks.

Have you rooted your device with Pete's Motorola Root Tools?
If so, busybox usually works well out of the box, but you can use the Busybox Installer application in the Play Store to try different versions of busybox.
Note: rooting is not possible on devices with system version .621.
