http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/802/dscn5268mobile.jpg/
i've tried to connect de hd2 to my comp. but it does not regonize it
I looked around on the net and here on the forum but I do not get it
can you pleassse help me with the correct links !!!

try this:
plug into pc - install drivers
(instead of serial, there need to be "USB")
then do a task29 (delete nand)
then try to flash your fav. winmo rom again!
(if you dont want winmo, you need to flash another hspl version for android)
come in this chat: http://www.chatzy.com/577626290448

oke, but there is no way....that i can connect my HD2 by usb
so far only by sdcard
I tried to delete HSPL en go Back to SPL ...with stock rom (htc-website)
(sdcard trick) still failed....
i think i am doing something wrong
can somebody help me...with the right files

Most often the reason the SD card method fails is because a 8GB or greater SD Card is used.
A 1 or 2GB SD Card would be a bettter option.

You need to have HSPL to flash custom ROMs.
Have a good read * HERE *. These are the instructions I followed when I first got my HD2.
It is a bit of a read, but it is very well worth it.

First off did you use your serial number to download the Windows Mobile ROM from the HTC site?
Second, yes a 2 gig or smaller SD card works best but have you tried doing a complete formatting the SD card using Fat 32, also did you rename the file LEOIMG.nbh and place it on the root of your SD card? It has to be named LEOIMG.nbh cause the bootloader will not recognize any other file name, and it has to be on the root of your SD card or it will not detect it.
Third, do you see Serial or USB in the white bar of bootloader when you try to flash via RUU? If it says Serial you do not have the HTC USB Sync connection between your computer and HD2. If it says USB you should have the HTC USB Sync connection.
Fourth like member fred_up said you have to have HSPL to flash any custom Windows Mobile ROM, and you have to have HSPL 2.08 to flash MAGLDR and a 2.07.50.xx or higher radio too, and you have to have HSPL to flash cLK also.
Fifth your battery has to be 50% or more to be able to flash via RUU or it will not let it. But if you do not have a working Windows Mobile ROM, MAGLDR Android or WP7 ROM, or a working cLK ROM, you can not charge your HD2 cause it does not charge in bootloader. Although if you can get cLK to flash you might be able to let it charge while it is off, not 100% positive about that though.
Last have you downloaded and tried out the HD2 NAND Toolkit? if you have not I suggest you do as it might make things a lot simpler for you. Also take a look at my guide linked in my sig as it might help you understand your HD2 a little better.

Cannot flash from sd card but can flash from USB

Hi i have flashed my HD2 from a sd card for more than 30 times but now I am unable to flash using my sd card.
I get into the boot loader mode with leoimg.nbh on sd card, but in the bootloader mode white colored loading screen appears for some fractions of a second and returns to tri color screen.
I was using Ozrom on the device last when i discovered this problem.
spl - 1.42.hspl
cotullahspl
Please help...
Sorry for my bad english.
Also I had already done alot of searching but could not find anything...
Update :
Now i cant flash from usb also. First I was able to flash from usb but now I cannot.
-Tried using a new sd card and formatted with fat32 file system. Problem still exists...
-Checked the file name and extensions its not "leoimg.nbh.nbh".
-Tried flashing just leoimg.nbh on card
-tried flashing with 5 different roms from different cooks
-tried renaming the file to capitals LEOIMG.nbh
-updated the hspl to hspl2 2.08
Problem is not solved.
There may be a problem with the sd card. Are you still using the same card you have used before? If so, try formatting the card (FAT32) or try a different sd card if you have one.
You can of course continue using usb, sd card flashing is only really needed in order to remove hspl.
Maybe is your card corrupted, try to format it in FAT32...
Tried using a new sd card and formatted with fat32 file system. Problem still exists...
Mate, you only need to flash from sd card when you cant flash from usb. I dont know why you are getting this error but dont worry too much. Did you name the file correctly (leoimg)? It's easy to make a mistake here. Some people rename the file to leoimg.nbh - you dont need to add the .nbh. It's already an nbh file - so you would end up with leoimg.nbh.nbh
Lastly dont flash a 2.10 rom via sd card or you will end up stuck with an spl that you cant change
i know about the file extensions and file names...i am flashing since 3 years from memory card....i am not a newbie..tell solutions other than the problems occured to noobs...like rename error..format memory card stuff...i want some solution other than that..
thanx alot for your support its really appreciated...looking forward for your help..hope now this time you can divert me in the right direction

I always used to flash my diamond from internal storage when i had it. Got my HD2 and carried on flashing from SD for my first 2 or 3 ROMs and then it stopped working having the same thing as you. As if it tries to read the .nbh then goes back to the bootloader. I havent let it worry me as im nearly always next to a pc when im flashing a new ROM (have to be now), but I would be interested to find the answer as well.
but no one is really interested to reply here peovide a solution.....infact they are advising to flash from a pc...but i want to flash from a sd card
Just keep using USB, less lilkely to go wrong anyway

Boot into bootloader and then get the .nbh file from the wm rom you want to flash and copy that to the root of your sd card (formatted FAT32) and flash via sd card.

Thanks for the fast reply on my post,
butt what if i want to reinstal it back to te stock WM 6.5 do i need to put the RUU_Leo on my sd card??
and what did u mean with the bootloader the 3 collerd screen or the home screan of Magldr??
Just do the following:
Download a WM 6.5 ROM
Extract the .NBH file from the ROM to your SD card. (If you have to remove SD card and put into computer to be able to access it then do that)
Rename .NBH file on SD card "leoimg.nbh"
Turn phone off
Hold vol down button while pressing power button to enter bootloader
Phone should recognize the leoimg.nbh file on SD card and flash it to your phone

Get the stock ROM that you want to flash back to and you can unzip it with something like winrar or 7zip (it's a self extracting zip file really). The just rename the .nbh file to leoimg.nbh and put it in the root of your SD card. Start the phone in bootloader (tri-colour screen) and it should automatically flash the ROM for you.
Hope this helps - good luck mate.
Edit: Or what Digital Outcast posted while I was typing
thanks guys for the fast reply's will try it out as soon as i'm gettig @home

Your usb port is prolly busted meaning you have to get your motherboard fixed sadly.
try a different cable and usb port to start with rather than assume the usb is broke onthe phone

Help i cant remove hspl

Im sending my phone back to htc so I flashed back a standard rom. I thought this would remove hspl but it didnt now Im ****ting my pants. How do i get it off?
Did you flash stock rom via sd card? That is the only way that flashing a stock rom removes hspl. Otherwise the much simpler method is to rerun HSPL2 and select your original spl (ending in 0000) - assuming you can remember which spl you were on.

Find nbh file of the rom you want, copy to root of sd card and rename it to LEOIMG.nbh, boot into bootloader and follow instructions. If it doesn't pick up the image, try reformatting sd card (preferably a small one ie 2gb) to FAT32 and retry.
Ive renamed the the file but bootloader does nothing, i only have a 16gb sd. I also put the whole rom on the card and selected it using file explorer and now the windows colour dots are just going around in a circle.
Did you copy just the .nbh file from the rom to your sd card and rename that and not the entire exe file? You also won't be able to flash via file explorer.
Seriously though if you can't flash via sd card (bigger sd cards don't alsways work - although my 16gb card does) just do the second and much easier option I gave you above, ie flash the rom via exe as you have done and then run HSPL2 and select your stock spl.
I cant do that cos now windows 7 wont install the bloody drivers lol. Im FUBAR'd
Be careful in your rom selection. This should ALWAYS be stressed when telling people how to do this. It's not simply a case of getting the one you want. You should always try to get the original rom your phone came with, or at a minimum one that the htc site recommends when you enter your country and phone serial. Flashing a bad rom via sd is pretty much the only way to brick your phone. This should not be forgotten or taken for granted.
That said, download the correct rom, rename to leoimg.nbh, stick it on the root of your sd card. Power off phone, insert sd card, hold volume down, press power.
(yeah I know clyde just typed the instructions, I just like them explained this way).

Have you double checked you card is Fat 32? I couldn't get a leoimg.nbh file recognised, until I found a similar post saying that it had to be Fat32. My card was in plain old fat...

Good point m8, I assumed that as he had already flashed the rom via exe that he had the right one. (I know that's a dangerous assumption given the level of some of the users on this site as some shouldn't be authorised to use anything more technical than a tv remote - no offence elgrego4 ). Noted and I will include that important statement in future advice given
I've just seen from your signatrure elgrego4 that your rom is listed as LEO70 (ie WP7). Did you reformat your sd card after using WP7?

Turn the phone off..Then turn it on while holding volume down. This will take you to the bootloader menu( rainbow color). Plug the phone unto your PC then flash the original ROM that you downloaded from HTC site.No need to sync..Hope this will help.
Hey man if you want to remove HSPL you can just run the HSPL program from your pc with your phone connected in bootloader. It's the same procedure as installing HSPL, but now you must select SPL 2.08.000 instead of HSPL 2.08 while running the program.
I did it this way while I had to send my phone back and had no problems with it =)
You can check your SPL version in Bootloader.
yes it was fat 32, ive borrowed a 2gig so i will try that next
Its flashing with the 2gb card so fingers and everything else crossed
Keep us posted pls. I'm thinking also to bring back because of pixel error on the screen.

SPL-3.03.000 is on now. Thanks for the help guy Knowing my luck htc wont find a fault
Pleasure m8, good luck.
Was 3.03 your original spl? If so I guess you do know it's a mission to get back to flash hspl once you get your phone back. You will first have to downgrade your rom to get to a lower version spl and then run hspl.

Can I install MAGLDR through SD card?

Similar to running Leoimg.nbh through boot screen...is it possible or does it require a pc?
Hi,
I have the same question since I broke my USB on the phone. (This is not covered by the warrenty)
I also like to know if it is posible if I can update HSPL.
Radio is posible and Rom by clockworks too.
Basicly I also like to know how the ROM organisation is and what is where in the rom and how the boot order is in the device.
Thanks.
anyone?

No - you need a USB connection to a PC.

I have not heard of anyone working on a way to to do this and franckly I don't beleive it will ever be possible. The reason I say this is bootloader only recognizes the file name loeimg.nbh when it searches for a ROM on the SD card. This type of file the .nbh is a file extension spacific for HTC devices runnin Windows Mobile and Andriod. the .nbh is a HTC Hermes ROM image wich is a ROM update utility. So you see it is spacificaly for used with ROMs and MAGLDR is a different type of bootloader not a ROM. There for the regular bootloader will not allow it to be flashed cause it does not meet predifined specifications for bootloader to flash it even if you added the .nbh extension to it. You would have to modifiy the original bootloader to achive this and I don't think you can modifiy it in this manner. You can not even come up with a seperate bootloader for it as any other bootloader has to run in sequence after the original bootloader just like MAGLDR does. So I very highly doubt that flashing MAGLDR will ever be possible, sorry friends.
I am also looking for a solution
My USB post is damaged by a high voltage from my car charger..
Ok guys I may have been completely wrong with my last post. I just yesterday flashed MAGLDR to my HD2 for the first time just to gain some hands on experience with it. I noticed yesteday that when you flash MAGLDR it uses a ROM update utility to flash it to the HD2. I also noticed that when you extract the files for MAGLDR this is this is what you get.
DAF
DAF
EnterBootloader
ErrorBattery.fig
ErrorUSB.fig
magldr.nbh
modelID.fig
rapitool
ROMUpdateUtility.cfg
ROMUpdateUtility
RUUGetInfo
RUUResource.dll
Notice the magldr.nbh file? This is the file the ROM update utility flashes when you flash MAGLDR. It also removes the current ROM on your HD2 when you flash MAGLDR. So knowing what I know about flashing a ROM or Radio from SD card, and now knowing this information on MAGLDR. I think it might be possible to flash MAGLDR via SD card. I mean it seems to me all you would have to do is rename the magldr.nbh file to leoimg.nbh. Then copy it to the root of your SD card and flash it like a ROM or radio from SD card. I have not personally tried it yet cause I have not had time to back up my wife's SD card and reformat it yet. I have to use hers because she has a 2GB card and I have the 16GB. But if anyone else would like to test my theory feel free, but I hold no responsability if you decide to try this and it goes bad.
Ok, I did find out you can install magldr by updating through SD like T-Macgnolia mentioned, CWM you can just put in the root of the SD and then works correct. The next problem I have is the partitioning CWM uses. Everywhere I looked I only see that the partitioning is done by USB flashing, Is there a posabilety to partitioning different?

So is cwm magldr a special version of magldr?

Should partition my sd first? Do I use any partitioning software, if so?

No CWM is a recovery program much like native.Android devices have. It allows you to flash a Android ROM with the. zip file on your SD card just like a native Android device it also allows you to flash updates via your SD card and make a Nand Droid back up of your Android before flashingva update or new ROM and then use that back up to restore your settings apps and all once you have flashed the update or ROM. You can also use it to do a system recovery (this is like a hard reset for Win No) of your Android ROM if the need arises.
MAGLDR is a custom bootloader that allows you to flash Android or WP7 to a HTC HD2. Just as the bootloader for Win Mo starts up and allows Win Mo to boot, note you do not see the bootloader like you do MAGLDR but trust me bootloader runs first on boot up of Win No. MAGLDR also allows you to do a system recovery but CWM does it more like a native Android device would. MAGLDR is a very powerful and functional bootloader that can do way more than the Win Mo bootloader, but it just can not boot Win Mo yet lol kinda funny isn't it. Anyway read the CWM and MAGLDR threads they will teach you alot. Check my sig for links to both.
One more thing MAGLDR and CWM allows you to have access to your SD card as a mass storage device. MAGLDR has a Mass Storage option and CWM has a mount SD option. Oh and by the way you do not want to partition your SD card. You want it freshly formatted with fat 32 if at all possible, of course make a back up of hour intuit SD card before formatting it.
Thanks for the thanks but I did not make flashing MAGLDR and CWM via SD card. This was done by the rest devs that created these programs. I just happen to notice that it is posinle because the used .nbh files for both of them. Now this was either out of necesiety or out of some good pre planning of the devs. But the .nbh file is a file specific to HTC devices so you all desire Wichita one it was lol.

Hello t-magnolia,
So my .situation is that I have hsol 2.08 and my usb port won't work at all. I don't have magldr installed and am still booting android via winmo.
So if I want to install a nand based rom, what should the steps be please?
I have tried renaming magldr.nbh to leoimg.nbh and put it in the root of my sd. However, it goes.into a grey screen and displays 'loading.........' In blue text and just hangs.

Your problem is either you need to reformat your SD card with Fat 32 or you are using to large GB SD card. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but even if you get MAGLDR on your HD2 you still will npot be able to Flash a NAND Android ROM with out a working USB. Yes you can flash a NAND Android ROM via SD card using Clock Work Mod Recovery(CWM) but you still have to have a functioning USB port to flash CWM to your HD2. Sorry my friend but you will have to get your change your mainboard to get a working USB port befor you can go NAND Android with your HD2.
Haven't read the whole thread but once you've flashed MAGLDR it would be useless as you need a USB connection to flash CWM or a ROM.

Hi i have a big problem. I tried to upgrade my Leo be flashing the new WP7. My previous ROM was NRG. After executing the RomUpdateUtility exe, however the phone rebooted, and NRG logo showed on the screen, and then nothing on. Hard reset also didn't help.
Did you check you have correct hspl and radio? Magldr wont start without 2.08.hspl and 2.07.50.x or higher radio.
and a task 29 followed by a stock rom flash should sort you out
The radio is exactly 2.07.50, i flashed it when i flahed the NRG rom few months ago. The HSPL version however is 1.42. as far as i could see it. Can i install a newer version of HSPL now when the phone is already dead.

All you need to do is put your phone into bootloader mode and then flash what ever you want, WM, HSPL, etc etc
a) Power dow phone.
b) Hold Volume down button (just "down", not "up" aswell)
c) Press power button once.
d) Wait till you get Tri-color screen and release Volume down button.
e) Plug in USB and flash rom.
Yea, as above.
Use hspl2 or hspl3 or hspl4, it makes absolutely no difference which, just be sure and only choose 2.08.hspl, nothing else will work.
wrong HSPL, wrong radio, i assume you dont have MAGLDR working given the first two points not correct, overall the post 2 above me is spot on, read, an if in doubt ask, you must have had some thoughts on what you were doing might not work given that you have not carried out any of the steps to install it, so read, ask then install or you will end up killing it one day!
Thanks a lot guys, especially to TheATHEiST. Everything is cool now, well not everything but... WP7 is already running on my LEO and as a matter of fact i am very nicely surprised. Still there are two problems: 1. WP7 cannot conect to the 3G network of my mobile operator in my country and the system does not recognize my 2gb SD card.

You have to set your APN manually. Check your carrier/mobile operator.
Yes, WP7 doesnt recognize your sd card. This is not a problem. This is how it works in WP7. That is why in the beginning (and maybe up to now), people complains of having difficulty to transfer file. You need zune to transfer your file.
Cheers..

The APN settings need setup, use HTC connection manager or manually add them in the settings>phone/cellular>add apn
as for you SD, im not sure what the above poster is talking about, his right in the sence that there is no SD file transfer ( there is but it takes a bit of fiddleing and only works on you PC) but i assume you are actually meaning your Windows phone doesnt have any storage available at all, i mean, windows phone doesnt see the card in itsself?
if thats the case then you have an incompatible SD card.
Right, before you believe all the fud on this forum about "confirmed compatible cards" let me tell you there isnt any confirmed cards. unless you can find one of these at&t WP7 branded cards.
anyhow, that is unlikely, so its luck, class 2 and class 4 are about is good as the advice is going to get, your just as likely to have issues with Sandisk as you are a supermarket own brand, so buy what you can afford but dont expect it to work, even if it is detected you may have issues with it, random reboots, wifi not working, lagging, etc, but once you get a woring card it absolutely flys!

Mate,
What I was trying to say is that when you flash and boot wp7 with your micro sd card inside, it will format and create a partition such that you cannot see it via windows explorer or any other file explorer apps. You cannot transfer the file from your PC to your HD2 (with WP7 installed) via copy and paste. You need Zune to transfer the files.
You still can see the partition created by WP7 in your micro SD card, using partition manager/tools in your PC. You can search in the WP7 subforums
Cheers
