The only thing I can think of is the other party is pressing mute by accident.

I'm using ZuluGen and it hasn't happened to me. NSCollab before that and no problems there either.
I've use CM7 since forever and Netarchy kernals. Never had this problem.
I flashed infinity rom today. I dont have this issue now:+

yup...
I have had this happen on several occasions on the stock root rom for NS 4g. I am not sure the cause but about a minute after it happening it resolves and I confirmed with the other person that they did not hit the mute button

I have a strange issue. My sound randomly stopped working. At first I thought it was the rom but I had the same issue on another rom. Anyway to fix this without getting a replacement.
Yes the volume is up.

I'm 99% sure my phone keeps making these relatively high pitched (not mosquito ring tone high) scream noises.. Should I be concerned? It's not too often, but often enough..

is it a mic feedback, some rom has?
I experienced it various times, such as CM7, SRF1.2 and other unstable roms in between.

I'm using GingerDX v021. A rather serious problem i encountered is that whenever i receive a incoming call,i have to wait 3-5 seconds for the slide to answer screen to appear. Anyone experienced this?

A lot of people experienced this, even DX is still looking why is that happening..but some people said after flash custom kernel, the problem is solved or the delay shorten...

Same thing is happening on my international version. I did notice if I turn off sound and vibrate under the settings. That my notification sounds complete playing. Hope this helps.

I ended up backing up my apps with Titanium Backup and just restored the phone. So far it has been working! (with vibrate as well) Thanks for the tip though!

Is anyone else still having this issue. I'm having it as well. I'm running stock\rooted which i have debloated myself. Is there an app i removed that could cause it or and app I added that's causing the problem..What would cause your notification sound to stop playing in the middle. I wonder if deleting the stock music app would cause the issue...
Mine does this as well sometimes it just started happening randomly. Sometimes it works correctly, sometimes it doesn't.

Mine started doing this last night and has continued most of the time today as well. Haven't done anything yet other than change the tone to a different one and back to the other without any luck.
Mine does this too.

I have this weird buzz noise when I open an app or navigate through my phone I click anything. I rooted my phone when I first got it and it was happening on the rom. So I switched to aokp and still had the same problem. Then, I flashed to stock as I bought it and still has the same problem. Could this be a hardware issue? I was thinking to call google play to see what they would do?

Anyone have any similar issues?
I've had a similar problem where tapping the screen creates an audible "click" sound. At first I thought it was the speaker popping, but then I noticed it happening while the volume was down.
It doesn't happen on every touch, but it happens enough to be noticeable.

Exactly the same problem as me. My dad n4 does do it. But if I put the ear piece to my ear, I hear a faint buzzing noise also. Did you call Google about it?
