Hey all.
Fantastic site!! I love all the dev's hard work
I currently have Lite'ning ROM 1.5 installed and XXKF2 kernal. I have been experiencing kinda stuttering when operating the phone and what not, like I click on home button it seems to stutter and not a smooth animation, it happens every few things I go into, even going into app drawer it sometimes stutters. Is this normal ?? I came from Stock firmware with carrier bloat. If this isnt normal can someone please advise me with some tip or a solution to the issue.
Much Appreciate it.
Back up data and factory reset first .
jje
Ok thanks ill try that.

Anyone else? Im not exactly sure if its Phone.apk, DialerTabeActivity.apk, or simply the act of voice calls that is causing it. But it seems as though whenever i make a call, or have an incoming call, my phone almost cant handle it. It lags out like crazy.
This morning, my phone started ringing. There was so much lag that i couldnt answer the phone in time. Also, when i go to hang up a voice call, it often takes the "end call" button almost 10seconds to respond. Lastly, just earlier, i ended a call with my buddy. It LITERALLY took 3 minutes between the time i ended that call, and started a new one. Thats how bad the lag was.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas how to fix it? Maybe its the modem?
This lag is literally intolerable, and a major inconvenience to efficiency.
PS - No, im not running a lagfix. I experimented with and without, and i determined that overall my phone performs better without it.
PPS - This is not me being oCD about my phone or a ROM. Im not being that "never satisfied" guy. Everything else with the ROM is great, its just this one thing.
Im using Eugene's B_Stock_1120_100 kernel, found here: http://eb-productions.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=samsungsgs&action=display&thread=28

I would try starting from stock and working back up to nero v4.1.
I appreciate eugenes work but thats where most of my problems come from. Using nero v3 and experimenting with eugenes kernals(I was bored) I had constant lag, random reboots, panic/safe mode, freezes, couldnt access external sd card etc... Try starting from stock. Are you using titanium backup with system info.

It sucks because this particular kernel of his offers almost everything i want in a 2.2 kernel (BLN, bootup/shutdown animations, lagfixes, OC/UV, and i also love the recovery menu).....although, with this ROM at least, the only lagfix that works is Voodoo, and the OC is only clocked at 1120ghz.
I was wondering if maybe this was causing it. And im mildly depressed to learn that it very well may be. I like TW's kernels, but they just seem to be battery destroyers.
So are you saying not to use this Eugene kernel at all? Should I try a TW one instead? Sorry but stock kernels suck and i want to avoid them if possible.
PS - I dont know what youre asking in terms of TiBu
I just tried it while on Wi-Fi, call came in, no lag answering it, I browsed engadget website, and no out of ordinary lag.
Flash back to stock and go back to the ROM, see if it resolves the issue.
EDIT: I am using Voodoo though
had same problem and i had just come from a fresh odin to stock. couldn't take it and went back to axura latest rom. plus vringo and video tonez don't work with roms with voice start and shutdowns.
Yes I know you want to refer me to (one of) the lagfix(es).
BUT hear me out first please
Bought my gf a I5800 and its working like a charm. BUT after 1-2 weeks of usage there is one thing bothering her.
Sometimes the phone gets completely unresponsive, almost freezes. For example one morning with the alarm, she was not able to shut it off. Same for a phone call which she was not able to end, cause the phone did not respond to any touch inputs.
I have read about the lagfix, BUT it seems that the lags this fix is for are supposed to be like 2-5 secs, but this is more 10-20...
I dont think its normal, Stock ROM. I would prefer not flashing a Froyo build, cause I'd have to install and set everything up again.
Any ideas? Is this the normal lag that Samsung created?
Thank you in advance
Breece
Ps.: For now I am telling her to reboot every other day, but thats not really a solution.

I was pretty sure that lagfixes erase data anyways.. But I used to have this error on the stock rom and it went away on custom ROMs. some better than others.
Hm
So a custom rom them... right now I am trying a task killer, seems to speed the phone up a bit...

Unfortunately mate, my response is the same. Looks like it's time to re-install the OS? If you want to stay with Eclair then that's fine, but Froyo has a lot Custom ROMS and is appearing to be much more faster, and with the new ROMS being released, Custom Froyo (cooked ROMS) is becoming more and more stable!
Don't forget to back everything up, before you update firmware!
Hi
The JPA/JPB Custom rom in development seems quite safe it doesnt flash the bootloader so pretty much no chance of bricking your phone(i wont say 100% as anything can happen)
I like the way you call i5800 "she" or "her" it was a valentine day, right ?
So i've had my G2 for a few weeks now and it has started acting weird.
I have done nothing to it besides installing some apps, from the play store not from anywhere else.
But now it has started lagging MASIVELY, sometimes i can't even come past the lockscreen, and sometimes the lockscreen is not even there.
Also when i try to type a message or something it starts the massive lag, i have no diea why since i've jsut used it as it is, taking photos and using instagram/facebook/snapchat, no gaming or anything else.
Also, notifications comes after the real message i get, vibration comes on 15 seconds before.
It also heats up when it is in my pocket and drains the battery.
This usually happends when i open up facebook messenger, but i can't uninstall it since i find it necessary to have.
If anyone could i reply, i would be higly gratefull!
@RomWiz I dont know why all those things are happening to you but, you can try to wipe cache,dalvik-cache and flash dorimanx kernel and or switch to another stock based rom.
If you wanna stay stock I suggest to go to settings and see how much the apps are using your memory. Facebook is syncing the whole time so its really an battery drainer. On full stock I also cant suggest much what to do since I never had that phone.
I hope that someone else with real g2 experience could help you more with your issue, goodluck with your problem and I hope you can fix it soon.:good:

How could i wipe dalvik on the stock rom?
And i've had it for a few weeks, and i see no one else complaining about this lag on the G2, so i don't know why this is happening.
tried rebooting?
also check the battery stats in the settings see if it shows what's draining battery, that's most likely causing all the system hogging

I may also think that it has to do something with the thermal throttling of LG stock rom.
The only way to wipe it is in an custom recovery without wiping all your data.
I did a factory reset and it seems to be fixed now, but who knows.
Maby in a few weeks it'll start again.
@RomWiz alrigh have fun with your phone if it happens again I suggest to maybe flash an modified stock rom or the g3 rom port with dorimanx kernel.
I have a very frustrating Issue with my MOJO.
I bought it in February 2015. Recently i somehow broke the Controller. And damaged the HDMI output a little.
At this moment i saw grey-colored 1080p noise on my TV. I resetted the MOJO and then it worked fine. But after this, the Problems started. The Cursor begun to freeze. Sometimes it just freezed for a couple of seconds. Sometimes it just kept freezing the whole day. First it happened rare and only while i wanted to watch a Video. No matter what App i used. Also the bit of sound wich played when freeze just keeps looping while freeze. Like right before the bluescreen in WIN. Now the problems get bigger and bigger. Its freezing every time i use it. No matter what i do. Even if i do nothing it sometimes freezes. Absolutely no matter what app's running, the TV is on and so on.
Im frustrated.:crying:
Also the console overheats very fast. After 5 minutes doing nothing the Heatsink has already 50° C!!
Also no matter what governor. I tried everything but limiting isnt working. It just goes back to its ghostly default all time.:
Userspace
51 to 1887 MHZ
Qfc(?) scheduler
I removed every tuning app. Used CPU state recorders. Everything was normal.
Its just annoying and frustrating because i cant use my own console.
I think its the heat. Because when i cool it with a fan, it lasts longer. But still crashes.
Also at the same time the stock mcz wallpapers were gone and the android stock ones came.
I hope someone can help me.
I contacted the MCZ support of Course. No responding...
Sorry if i made a mistake. Im german.
This is my first post.
Thanks!
That must be the problem--your MOJO doesn't like Germans. Seriously, though, it sounds like you either caught a virus, or have some corrupted system file that's causing the MOJO to use all its resources to try to run it, and thus overheating. Either way, the cure is to reflash it, either with the latest stock firmware or one of the excellent custom ROMs by @Unjustified Dev.
Thanks, ill do so.
I've already found the stock rom here on xda.
But i wish to flash CM11 Because i dont really like the new layout of Lollipop and i only found CM12.1 here. Would be awesome if you can help me. :victory:
Thanks
So, i flashed the stock ROM and:
:crying:
Its still very unstable. Crashes mostly in YT and getting verry hot.
*sigh*
I hope we didnt ran out of ideas. Because i have no idea what could be the problem.. Hard Brick? I hope not
Also: Would CM or a custom ROM help?
Im not really a Lollipop lover. Actually i dont like it like ive told. But i could live with it, if it works fine then.
Fortunately, i can now freely set the CPU. But it doesnt help very much..
Im thinking of removing the hratsink, and mod it and mounting an big cpu heatsink with a fan. Would that be an suitable idea?
Thanks if someone replys.
I bought a used S7 edge, the guy who sold me could not verify the origin of the very cellphone. He had received it as part of a payment someone owed him. The thing is, whenever I used a stock rom the S7edge becomes laggy, if I use any custom rom it works perfectly. I have tried pretty much all types of stock roms and wipes without success. I am no developer so, I can't find any relation between the stock becoming laggy and custom working fine.
Is there a way to fix it?
Thanks
Have you researched the stock roms to see if users are reporting increased speeds? Maybe the stock just feels laggy in comparison. Also, stock usually geeks more laggy at the beginning anyway due to bloatware and more apps to cache.
I have already searched for anything like it without success. I forgot to mention that when I day laggy I mean really laggy. Also, when I reboot it loses the wifi settings as if I had not connected to any wifi networks. Maybe that can help someone find a solution.
Thanks for replying though!

Hi, the solution is to upgrade your Samsung S7 Edge to the newest update. I used Odin and Official ROM to install upgrade and now my phone status became OFFICIAL!!
