Hi,
I noticed that when browsing through websites like Gsmarena.com or Phonearena.com, when viewing the 360 degrees view of a phone, the swf file goes wild (keeps on rotating fast) if you move your finger on the movie.
An example would be here - just try to access this page through Opera Mobile or Android browser :

Anyone has a fixed for the rotating issue?

yesterday i downloaded a skyfire version for my brother's n95.the only thing i have to say is tha is by far the best browser i have seen.i tried opening pages that i couldn't open before with the old browser because of the missing plugin and it worked.
here is the prog's description.
"Skyfire is a free, downloadable mobile browser that gives you a web browsing experience exactly like PC browsing. For the first time ever, on your phone, you can watch any video, connect with friends, listen to music, shop, and browse the web using the full-featured PC versions of your favorite websites. With Skyfire, mobile browsing just works - speedy page loads, full video, images and audio.
The search feature is awesome.

yes skyfire has released an updated version that loads on the wvga devices how ever it is not wvga and still looks bad on our hd... but hey its a start
thanks for your help guys.this program is indeed a good start.not beeing able to browse websites with flash content was a big drawback
Hi,
Was wondering if there is any way to see the file names, especially with the video files. As it is right now my movies start with a black screen and the way the browser works is it shows the beginning of the movie as the thumbnail so there is no way to tell which thumbnail is what movie.
Thanks,
Ho'okani
Hi, got a problem with browser Opera: while trying to watch a video on youtube fro exemple, it doesn't start, it says " not supported: the used protocol in vnd.youtube ******* vndapp=youtube_mobile&vndclient=mv-google&vndel=watch&vnddnc=1 is not supported.
More than that got also problem while trying to download files from web pages: th download doesn't start, saying "transfert not possible"
does someone knows what's the problem?
For info I allready got flash player 11 installed and enabled flash on opera's settings
just use dolphin hd browser - much better in my opinion
I'll give it a try. btw I tried ninesky also and video works. for the downloads the only problem was sdcard space.
But why opera doesn't work for videos?
Hmm,
I might be wrong, but as far as I know, opera uses its own servers (like a proxy) to reduce the traffic used. They pack the pages in a special way, and on your device, opera browser unpack it. This kinda tricky solution has a side-effect, that video-steam after being packed at server can't be decoded at your device (I suscect the same concerns downloads, as they are saved as is).
BTW there is no reason to use opera, as your kindle fire supports only wifi so no expensive mobile traffic
because opera seems faster than other breowsers to me. btw I've fixed the problem by setting desktop mode on opera's settings.

Tried firefox, dolphin, and chrome. Chrome was the only one where I could do searches but it has tons of functionality ripped out ie no tabs and I still haven't figured out how to go back.
Uninstalling is the same as any android device. Go into settings > apps > find chrome > uninstall.
I found a 11.3.0 version of the Dolphin browser with Leanback support here: https://plus.google.com/communities/103510820500984874818/s/dolphin?partnerid=gplp0 Namely, the file named mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser-2.apk in one of the posts. The file installs fine in my rooted Nexus Player and an icon for the Dolphin browsers shows up on the Leanback launcher see pict. The program starts, but the browser is only able to load a couple sites, namely cnn.com and just a couple others see pict. When I try to go to other sites like google.com or facebook.com all I get is a blank page see pict. After entering the URL the Dolphin progress bar moves quickly to the right, but then slows down to a crawl and slowly continues to the right, but never loads the site. The Internet connection is fine, I can load all sites using Chrome browser without a problem, but I'm use to working with Dolphin on Android. Chrome on the Nexus Player does not allow tabs, but Dolphin does. Anyone else testing this Dolphin Leanback browser on their Nexus Player with different results?... I understand that this version appears to be modified specifically for the ADT-1, but given that it loads cnn.com, I can't understand why it won't load other sites.
Has anyone found a newer version of Dolphin with Leanback support?
Btw, to work with this browser you'll need a mouse and keyboard. I'm using a K400r keyboard with a trackpad. The Nexus Player remote does not work. If after the installation you get stuck on ads screens the first time you run it (flipping to a black screen)... click and hold the mouse button and swipe to the left to navigate to the Welcome (Start) screen.
FYI - The problem I was having with Dolphin 1.3.0 with Leanback on my Nexus Player was being caused by the Dolphin Jetpack. I disabled the Jetpack and the problem loading pages went away. I guess I lost the functions provided by the Jetpack (e.g. flash support), but at least I can load pages now.
I hope Google or some third party is working on a web browser that can be used with just the NP remote, Having to "always" go for the keyboard to navigate the web is not convenient. For the small amount of web browsing that I do using the TV bookmarks, up/down - left/right navigation plus access the on-screen keyboard to enter URLs and to fill a couple forms should be enough.
I also have a Logitech Revue (GTV) that came with a neutered version of Chrome. I believe copyright laws were the main reasons why Google did not developed the GTV Chrome browser further. With a couple of hacks it's barely able to play flash videos. Streaming content directly to the big screen has always been something that content owners are reluctant to allow without a fee.
So all has been good after the update to android 10. No major issues. However, there is some issue with watching videos on fullscreen on the youtube website, NOT the app. (tested on firefox and chrome)
The bottom part of the video clips/ fall through. I have attached screenshots showing the same.
Anyone else facing the same issue? Solutions?
First image shows normal/vertical orientation. Second one (with the clipping) is full screen/landscape.
