HTA HD2 Stuck on MAGLDR Screen and Recovery don't work - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi Guys,
I have created this video trying to explain myself what was going on with my phone. Please someone help me to fix this.
just add youtube dot com/ (with the back slash) before the following link. Sorry since I'm new here it won't allow me to post any links.
watch?v=x8kIBi8NVsE
Problems are:
1. Not booting to Android Cyanogen
2. Stuck on MAGLDR Screen
3. Recovery (Vol down + Power button ) don't work.
4. Not connecting to activesync (Windows 7)
Thank you. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Same problem, the only thing i get to work is WP7.
I want to install Android and there is no colored Bootloader and the USB-Flasher in MAGLDR isnt helpful for flashing something except WP7.
And when im using the toolkit the drivers (can be downloaded through the Toolkit) arent woking.
Thanks in advance ;-)

Hi,
It's worth trying to download an official ROM from T-Mobile and
Change the .exe to .zip and
Extract with winrar or 7z the RUU_Leo_HTC_****************************_Ship.zip
find the larger *.nbh file and rename it to leoimg.nbh and place this file on an sd card that is 4gb or less.
Then try to boot that from 2. Boot AD SD in magldr.

Okay I've done as you told and didn't work. It's saying SD kernal open failed. Do I have delete whatever I have in the SD card and just place only this file?

This wont work because the phone seeks an android-install not a winmo 6.5 stock-rom,
Sorry mate
Im seeking for solution for this problem 3 days now and the only thing that could work is an winmo installation on sd

The problem is that theire working on it but i dont know if it comes or when it comes to our phones, at the moment there is no solution to fix this,
by the way i have experienced that most of dft-roms and tools are working with usb-flasher mode in magldr, so we have to find someone who could modify a winmo rom to flash with daw.exe

same problem guys !

Need official RUU_SIGNED.NBH from 1.66.405.2 WWE ROM Update

Hey everyone...not sure where I'm supposed to ask this, so I put it in general.
As I am on a Mac and use HardSPL to flash ROMs, it is not possible for me to upgrade to an official ROM because it is in .exe format. So, I need someone to post the RUU_SIGNED.nbh from the official ROM update (WWE: 1.66.405.2).
I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could help me out and provide the NBH file or point me in the right direction. Thanks
im not aware of any fix with your issues but to use bootcamp and use Windows OS.
You can also try Parallels or Vmware Fusion. Im just not sure if it's gonna work.
i would say maybe. =)
now, regarding .nbh, you can probably post a holla down at the Rom developments section.

I'm not trying to download Bootcamp, Parallels or anything else like that...I just want someone (who has a PC) to grab the RUU_SIGNED.NBH file and post it here. I will send a paypal donation to the person that does so. Thanks
Please can someone post the RUU_SIGNED.NBH from the officially 1.66.405.2 WWE ROM update? I will compensate!
the exe file is actually a zip file. No need to run it. just change the extension to .zip instead of .exe, open it with any decent zip tool (winzip winrar or whatever) and extract the RUU_signed.nbh
download an file archive programme and open the official EXE file with it and you can do it yourself!

I just tried using winrar and it did not work. It will not extract the files. Are you on a PC? If so, it would only take you 2 minutes to grab the file I need and post it here. Thanks.

its a 200 meg file, so sorry no it wont 'just take me a minute'. I can promise you (as can everyone else here) that the .exe file you download is just an executable zip, and we all generally right click it, choose open with winrar, and it opens to show the ten or so files inside, one of which is RUU_Signed.nbh. Then drag n drop the file from there.
If you really are getting an error, you should maybe download it again, something isn't right.
I'm on a Mac also, but I always flash via XP on a Bootcamp partition. I just leave all the flashing stuff there, and only use it for that.
You should also be aware that if you flash the 1.66 rom from sd card you will overwrite your SPL to version 1.6 which means you may have trouble installing HSPL later.

Exactly. By happy luck/accident, I was unable to do so before I knew this when I first got my HD2, now I have (thanks to everyone here) HSPL installed....but I realize now that If I had been able to install it, I probably would have, not knowing any better, and given myself a lot more difficulty in the process. This is the best source of phone info anywhere on the planet.

that rom will set spl to 3.03.0000 if flashed from sd card, and you would use hspl4 to re apply hspl, should you want to.
I already have hspl to 3.03.0000 and can not load anything when connected to USB, I was trying to go back to hspl 2.08 so i can load recovery. Is there another way.

Rom in .img format??

Hey guys
The volume rocker on my HD2 is broken, and I have cLK flashed on my device. My problem is that I can only boot into cLK and fastboot mode as recovery is useless to me because I cant navigate through the options using the volume rocker.
I am looking for a rom (android/winmo) that is a .img file so that I can flash through fastboot, or if any of you know any other possible way I can flash a rom through fastboot so I can get my phone working again. Right now I dont mind which rom I flash, as long as I get my phone in working order again.
All help is GREATLY appreciated....!!!
If anyone also knows how I can compile a rom into a .img file so I can flash through fastboot, that is also welcomed help!
Any ROM you download that is for cLK has a. img file in it. you will have to extract the file from the. zip hou download to find it. Read my post here it will give youthe details on how to flash your ROM.

Sorry for the late response but those two files do get used, the img file oules the information from them as it is flashing. To put it simply when you initiate the flash the img does the rest of the work. The img file is sort of like a cab file for Windows Mobile only it is not all self contained and has more functions than just to install the software. Note I said sort of not exactly like, that is just a comparison to help you understand. When you flash a Android ROM via CWM it essentialy just activates the img file to flash the ROM.
Daf roms come as a system.img
or
if you have access to another hd2, flash the target rom to it and then use mkyaffs2img command in the terminal to dump the system folder to a system.img file.
Benefit of this would be you can tweak the rom(reduce size for example, by removing unwanted apps) before you dump to system.img

Thanks for getting back to me buddy! Unfortunately I dont have a second HD2, and I dont know anyone willing to help me out in Greece, lol... Would you be willing to dump your system folder for me and upload it so I can use yours?? I would GREATLY appreciate the help... sitting with my HD2 "semi" bricked... lol
Also, if I use the .img file from the DAF roms, can I flash it using fastboot??? You have any suggestions on how I can flash it considering I cant use the volume rocker on my mobile?
Well id like to say yes but it's Easter weekend and my sons 1st birthday tomorrow, so the likelihood of getting near a PC are slim for a few days.
You could always learn how to use the android emulator,, build the image on a virtual hd2
As for flashing,,, no idea, no clue what fastboot does, magldr for me, but in your OP you implied you could use it to write img files to partitions.
You ever got a solution for this? I'm in the exact same situation right now.

Hi,
All Core Droid ROMS are downloaded as a RAR. file.
Extract this and you will see instructions plus the zip file you need to put on the root of your sd card.

Q.E.D.
@aungpe
Hi,
I think you downloaded a "ZIP"
This should NOT be extracted.
Go to ad recovery and wipe data, cache partition, and dalvik(advanced).
Then go to install zip from sd card
Choose zip from sd card (which you should have placed on the root of your sd card, using a card reader)
After installation,reboot.
Give it time.
Some ROMS take 15-20 minutes to install.

Inside the downloaded file there is a archive file again (forgot what format), this file you have to extract out and copy that file onto your archos
Good luck!

I tried to flash my HTC HD2 with this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
after installing Hardspl 2.08 i used MAGLDR1.13
but now the phone just boots with white screen and HTC logo
i guess i forgot to install the radio?
but what now?
cant reach bootloader
just comes up for one second when i try hardreset
then asks for restoring to factory setting but that doesnt work neither
is it possible to autoflash with some sort of sd card
or do i have a chance to get at least usb connection up again ?
Thanks for help
edit
ive read that its possible to boot from sd card, using some sort of LEOIMG.nbh at root directory
extracted exe file and renamed "RUU_signed.nbh" to LEOIMG.nbh
ill try next step tommorow
gn8 ^^
You know the keys to get into bootloader isn't the same as for a hard reset, right?
Hold volume down only, tap and release power, release vol down only when stripey screen appears.
uhm, thanks ...
i swear it didnt work but for some reason now works
ive read in that guide
"3. Browse to the folder you extracted your NAND Android Package files to on your pc, right click on Run DAF.exe (or Install.exe if DAF.exe isnt present) and select Run as Administrator"
but in "Tyween's Typhoon CM7 v3.6.3" rom is neither daf or install.exe?
Do i have to launch magldr from pc and preload rom into it, befor transfering it into htc?
sorry ... im still confused
well okay i think i hav eto upload some files into it, but which? all of zip or do i have to upload the original zip?
inside that zip theres "boot, meta-inf and system"
Copy the whole zip to SD and install it from cwm.
ive done it, thanks
