Hi,
I heard someone say, that if you have an old cable, and cut off the phone end and touching the terminals on the battery,it will give just enough charge to boot on.
Then plug in asap.
cant you get to the magldr menu and leave it there to charge?
You can't charge in MAGLDR... it's disabled.
get an old usb cable, mini or micro, doesnt matter, cut end off, bare the red and black wires, remove battery, black wire to battery - terminal, red to battery + terminal, plug into wall charger, hold wires there for about half a minute (can use your fingers, wont get a shock) or use PC usb socket for about a minute (lower charge on USB compared to wall charger), reinsert battery, turn on, plug real cable into phone and wall charger, and the charging light should come on about half way thru android booting.
Done this three times now with no problem, except the first time i didnt give it long enough and it died again whilst booting.
is this REALLY my only opinion?
Cant believe it.. :/
Thanks anyway, gonna try this
No, there are other options, but they involve another hd2 running winmo (or cLk) or buying an external charger.
How can i charge it with CLK?
Right now you have to do the wire trick. And when your phone is fully charged, you can flash CLK instead of MAGLDR. CLK is able to charge when phone is swiched off. Another option is to not let your phone go completely dead. )

ahh well im sure i used to run my battery to nothing when using magldr and never had issues plugging a charger in to get it to boot it up

So I have read about MAGLDR 1.13 battery drain fix "*Fixed Power-Off-Cable-Plug-Stop. Phone now detects this situation and reboots. Battery controller inside LEO needs runtime control during charge, it implemented in OS." and Yes that works fine! However once im in my OS Hyperdroid, my battery dies instantly and my phone turns off and turns back on thanks to MAGLDR then repeats until I unplug my charger.
Why wont my battery charge once im in the OS
Side note - I have taken the batery out and charged it via USB Red on + and Black on - If i charge it for 30 sec it will boot to OS and have 0% once i stick the charger in it dies instantly and reboots
Side note 2 - "" If I charge for over a min via Red/Black +/- it will boot into os and give me a inaccurate battery reading of 60-65% and will not charge once I insert the charger.
Can anybody help?
It looks, you may have to charge battery a little bit in Bootloader screen before you can turn in to OS.
I think something might be wrong with your cable or charger. When you charge, do you get over 800ma or similar? Use current widget to check.
$1 gets you a reply
Have the charger plugged in all the time, and charging should start long before the rom finishes booting. The also, do use the wall charger, and not the pc's usb slot, which may connect and disconnect the time or two during boot, and stopping charging.
Thanks guys I have used 2 different chargers and it doesnt seem to be the case, im going to chop this up as I need a new battery, when i charge it manually via Red/Black to +/- for over 30sec it gives my O/S a false reading and says its 65% charged, ima buy a new one and see if this is the case.... I really hope this works and thanks for your help!
My phones battery if fully dead.. But when i have the charger plugged in it does to the white Htc screen and reboots. I have clk installed so how do i get to charge offline?.. thanks
with cLK 1.3 and newer, just leave the phone plugged to the charger and wait until it's fully or partially charged.
Plug in the USB while the battery is out, and then replace the battery, you should find it starts charging without trying to power on.

Hi,
I have old T Mobile HTC HD2 with Android, (Used one, I received as gift from my friend)
This rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1022108
It have slow charging, but today, i found it with restart loop if in charging and not boot at all without charging, just boot with splash (Stick together) and vibration plus, then it restart again, the screen only light for less than a second, same when i try to boot to Boot Loader (VOL Down when boot) it show 3 colors less than a second, it cant boot with Boot loader.
I cant boot to make any Hard Reset.
Is it battery failed, or the it is Phone problem?.
The charger USB in the wall, also i test it on my PC, same.
Thanks in advance.
Could be bent battery pins, or flat battery. Magldr will not allow charging when android isn't booted, so if the battery is very low it cannot boot far enough to start charging, in which case see if you can charge the battery some other way, either
1 in a hd2 running winmo or cLK,
2 borrow / buy an external charger
3 cut end off a USB cable, bare red an black wires, connect black to - red to +, USB into wall charger and hold there for aminute or two.
Thanks samsamuel

Bad Magldr, i think it is the reason why failed and restart.

I will try cLK in the feature.

Good idea, but (3) is more easy.

If it is safe, I will buy female jack and take this wires from it, or maybe build external charger (IDK if it good idea).
Thanks
ive done it three times, plus i did teh same with a PMP battery that was discharged. works a treat. you can use your fingers to hold the wires on teh battery, you wont get a shock.
A minute is usually plenty (assuming you are using the wall charger, , if you are using a usb port, perhaps a touch longer.) as charging qwill start about 30 seconds into android boot sequence.
Worked, I get an old USB extension cable, cut it, and used the Red and Blue wires, but the problem in that cable the Red wire is (-) and the Blue wire (+), i used Avometer to test it before using it to recharge the battery manually (Oh my fingers) with 2 minutes, now my phone come alive and recharged again, Thanks samsamuel

Thank you, it really works!!! (the DIY usb cable thing .... ):good::laugh:
I did not used hd2 for a while and when I try to recharge the battery nothing happens. An idea to put all this way?
what os ? if android you probably need charge externally as can not charge when phone off 0% power.
some WP7 roms also have some quirks charging.
search should pull up lots on this & some work-arounds too.

Os Windows
Could be totally discharged, so much so that charging can't start.
Try..
Battery out, USB in and connected to wall charger, battery back in, leave 20 mins. See if charging starts.
Or, if you have an old USB cable, (doesn't need to be micro USB, any USB lead will do) cut end off, bare red and black, put USB into wall charger, battery out, hold red to + black to - on battery for 1 minute,,, try battery in phone.
Shouldn't the orange light be on?
Also if the phone is off shouldn't the orange light be also on?
(with the power charge usb on)
When in MAGLDR you will NOT see the power led.
If you let your phone totally die and can't start it boot to MADLDR and let it sit for 10-15 minutes to charge first.
Couldn't tell you about the last question. If USB is plugged in on my HD2 the phone will not power off, only reboot.
I will try to answer your last question with my HD2 running XBmod. When the phone is off and I connect it to charger, it will turn on at once, and then charge. It's not likely that with magldr you can charge the phone while it's off.
Somebody says in another thread which I cannot remember, that magldr does not allow turn-off-charging. Please correct me if I mess something here.
Hello,
Well it seems that my phone USB port is a bit loose or something like that..
Since the cable only charges it in a certain position.
Also I used a usb cable from a an LG phone and it's not good at all...
Didn't charge the battery, and yes the light of charge is on...
Like in the car when I plug it, the charging is almost nothing...
This also happens with usb charge on the pc...
But this is what I notice...
I'm not using the usb cable from htc.
The USB cable can be important regarding to charge. I have a Nokia Micro USB cable and another one just standard and nameless, maybe from BlackBerry og Samsung.
The nokia one with my HTC charger giver only around 50 mah when charging, observed by using HTC Battery Tool. It takes a whole night to charge battery full, and some times even still not full when I get up on the morning. And if I use the phone while charging, Battery Tool even shows that my phone is consuming battery.
The nameless one charge my phone with 500-800 mah and it takes exactly 2 hours to charge a battery from 30% remaining power to full. So I never use the Nokia one to charge my phone.
Need to install that Battery tool!
I had a similar issue, I cant be bothered pulling the cable apart but I suspect that a generic 2 wire usb "charging" cable wont cut the mustard, it possibly needs to be a 4 wire connection, all be it it only needs two of them to charge
as for your other questions, its all to do with MAGLDR
if the phone is OFF and you plug it in it "should" charge yes, but it wont if you have MAGLDR installed
If the phone is in MAGLDR or the bootloader for that matter, it will charge, all be it the light wont come on.
what isn't clear is if in bootloader or MAGLDR the device is capable of autocut off, ie, turning the charge to trickle charge once full, so my advice is that when charging in bootloader or magldr, only do it for 20 min or so then boot to your OS and continue the charge from there.
Well I now have adocking station to recharge the battery, got also a new battery...
The battery recharging is solved...
But the usb on my phone is ****ed up... since I need to "bend" the phone a bit for the light to turn on, but it only charges at Battery Current 250 - 300....
Ah well it's not a perfect world...
It sucks a bit that WP7 consumes the battery so fast...

Just don't bend it anymore or the USB will fall off the board. Data connection may become impossible to repair depending on the damage. And you will have yourself a permanent windows phone.
