http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=982020
I have just seen a HC theme here. However, I think it still have room to optimize to look like more a HC theme. Can anyone help to make this theme for me please? Much thanks for all!!

Check this out!

Just look at all of the kitchen mod's and you can see honeycomb sorts of things.
You well need a couple of files off your phone to make this mod

ROM Cooking?

Does anyone have any websites that they would like to recommend regarding info on ROM cooking?
I really like the idea of being able to totally customize our phones once the root is done but would like to try to have something done by the time our Dev team gets root to us. If this is possible and we won't be needing much from the phone before it is rooted (device specific files that we don't have access to now?) to put a ROM together then I am ready to get started.
If you're already working on this I'll be more than happy to help you out with some guidance.
this is someting you just have to learn it's preaty much doing a system dump of a current working rom. but it's more complicated than replace this file and that file as i spoke before. thta was just a gereral idea.
real rom cookers manipulate the kernal so thier ideas work better and faster than the original. just take a look at my friend cyanogen he's done wonders in rom cooking. i think haykuro and old dev from xda has a rom kitchen tut out there in the intertubes but have lost touch with him.

Very True...I do my own ROMS for myself and a few friends with my Xperia WinMo....its all about performance and how you put it together...
I've played around with rom cooking for my Omnia last year. It is pretty involved. This site and MoDoCo are some of the best places to find information on. I would suggest looking at the Hero forums and other Android phones as I would think some of the specifics are different than say WinMo.
Any way, I plan on reading up on this myself, so if I come across any good info I'll post it here.
i've got a rom done when we get root. just took out all the apps and replaced them with stock android, but its better than nothing for now. we'll still need to get amon-ra recovery and stuff working.
Is anybody thinking about making a Nexus One ROM for the Eris once we get root

A 2.1 ROM or a Nexus One themed ROM?
I'm sure someone will do 2.1 but I'm sure Nexus One stuff (startup animations etc) could just be added to any other ROM with minimal work after we get this thing rooted.
from what ive been reading..and surely hope its true, alot of Chefs are looking to port of specifically Espresso and Nexus themed roms.
and that to me is just freakin awesome.
but all jokes aside..i just wanna metamorph and go nuts with the themes lol

I Have a Question About Flashing a ROM

I have a Droid X that's rooted but It's on the stock Froyo. I want to flash it to a custom ROM but I don't know how I go about this.
Right Now I can't Decide if I want CM7, Justice, Liberty GB, or Liquid. What's the best one to go too? I care about speed, battery life & awesome features.
Should I upgrade to gingerbread?

I would say go to gingerbread, just because it is the most update version and imo better than Froyo. Most all of the roms have great speed, as far a batery life and features tho ehhhh lol 1 of the 2 will have to be compensated by another basically meaning.
For instance, Liquid and CM7 has tons and tons of customization's about anything you would want to customize you can with those roms, yet due to so many customization features more data is on the rom which compensates the battery life.
Liberty doesn't have as many custom features yet the battery life is superior to Liquid and CM7.
So its all a matter of your personal preferences. I am currently on Liquid 3.0 I also have my phone underclocked and I have been on my phone uncharged for 17hrs with 50% battery still left. I love this rom, thinkin about checkin out the new Liberty or the Shuji rom by Mobile Sensei. After a few days and some more reviews by others.
Speaking of amazing battery life Mobile Sensei is the master of that had ICX by Sensei and could easily get 35 hours off the charger with no problem. Yet rom did not have really any custom options. As I said give and take.
As far as flashing a custom rom. You will definitely need Droid 2 Bootstrap by Koush from the market I think its 2.99, so you can go ahead and download that now. Also as far as flashing a rom I would suggest you visit droidmodderx.com or visit his youtube (just search droidmodderx). This guy Shane is amazing and can show you better than I can tell you how to load a rom. This guy does actual tutorials on how to load a custom rom. So definitely definitely visit one of his sites and you will be good to go (you can download roms from his website as well). You can actually go step by step on your phone loading the rom while you are watching the tutorial on your computer. Decreases the probability of errors.
Hope this helps guy.
Thanks Alot! I'll check out his site & comeback with an update. You helped alot.

Good post with good info!
I just want to add that the d2 bootstrapper is available to download somewhere on the forums, so make sure you take a look around. I downloaded it from here when first flashing CM7.
Also, most if not all of your questions have already been answered somewhere, so check the stickies, and use the search. If you cant find anything close to an answer you need, feel free to ask!

No problem man. Definitely keep us posted on how it goes for you.
I flashed it to .602 GB to move up to the recent roms but I like it how it is right now. I was wondering can I put t-mobile theme engine without CM7?
I went from GB back down to Froyo and put Darkslide on my DX.

Not sure if I'm understanding your question. But if a theme is built specifically for whatever type of rom you are on the yeah it shouldn't be a problem. If you are running a a Shuji rom i doubt that a theme for the CM7 rom would work on it.
Ok Cyanogenmod 7 has a T-mobile theme engine built in the rom. I was asking is there a way I can install that T-mobile theme engine onto the stock GB .602 rom?

Theme engine cannot be used/installed on any non 2ndInit rom.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Which Custom Roms besides CM7 have t-mobile theme engine included?

I'm not sure about the Tmobile theme engine, but, in my opinion, MIUI has a FAR superior themeing system.
MIUI's theme manager offers control of just about every themeing aspect of the device.

I think I might have to flash over to that, I flash to the Liquid Smooth 3.0 rom & my dailer force close as soon as my phone boots up, whenever i receive a call or try to dail out.. It's the only problem I'm having with this ROM

[Q] What cant be done with odexed rom

Hi,
i dont like deodexing, because it takes too much space and its unstable.
So I decided to make my own rom based on JPU. I want to know, what features cant be done without deodexing from top roms like Kyorarom or Kyrillos rom.
Hope someone will answer me.

Like the person above said, basically you can't theme the phone. This includes themed apps etc. All this is not really needed so an odexed ROM in my opinion is better than a de-odexed and it's faster.

Because i really want to use the mod of yours. I really appreciate your mod and the acesmod007 rom works very good. And the only thing i really want to try is the beats mod. Maybe ill try some roms and install your mod
ok,nice for the reply, you can download a sense 3.0 rom on the dev's forum, follow all the steps and flash.I recommend coolexe sense 3.0 rom or tamirda's revolution rom, sense 3.0 acesmod rom from ur rom provider. Then report to me after some usage.u still haven't answered my question how does the acesmod007 rom feels on ur phone.
Dont forget to hit the thanks button
Thank you for your suggestions, acesmod007 werks very good. It was my first rom on my desire and i fell in love with it right away. Battery life is great, and its just ideal for daily use.
This may be a retarded question, but why cant this work on Hybrid Sense 2.1 + 3 or even Sense 2.1? Is it dependent on Sense? I would think cuz its an audio feature the visuals wouldnt be a factor.

I believe they are searching for C#/C++ coders more than smali testers. But if that app really has the ability to completely reverse engineer apks to java classes and back, we can expect radical improvements in ability to code.

[Q]: Aura ROM: Ice Cream Sandwich Theme?

Hey guys,
is there an ICS-theme for the Aura-ROM available? I tried to flash the DarkSide-ICS-Theme, but this messed some text-strings up (like the fingerprint-sensor said "Copy" instead of roll over your finger, please...)
Any suggestions are appreciated!
check out the market. there are a few ICS themes there.
Thanks for the tipp, but I wanted the top-infobar to look ICS-like. Didn't find any themes, that could do that. Any ideas?
I mean the notification-bar, to be exact
adw launcher both free and paid have ics themes
Aura is Blur themed rom. IMO, if u want an ICS theme, why not try flashing a CM7 rom with ICS theme???
