Hi All,
I cannot claim pure innocence here and I have most of the guilt for getting myself into this mess but I could use some help.
I bought a Pixel Qi and after 6 weeks rooted it successfully with EdenX rom.
Then, in one of my great genius moves, I updated it again with the Honeycomb Rom.
Then it bricked. That was about two weeks ago. I've been trying to fix the problem since then without success.
I have downloaded NI latest Eden 1.5 and tried twice to do this update and it seems to go through all steps successfully but ends with the same result.
The unit will not turn on and the amber light flashes.
I have to let the battery die, recharge it and then I can get into the bootloader again.
I have not done the recovery option as I wanted some advice before I went this route. I've read if the unit fails during the recovery, it is a paperweight. I really would like to get this back to life.
Any advice or ideas are most appreciated
Cheers,
Phil
You really have to work at bricking the Adam before it will actually brick. That's one of the great things about it.
What you need to do is follow the unbricking procedure which will get you flashed back to a stock ROM and should get you up and running again.
There is a good "How to" at the following link: Unbrick your Adam

Hello. So I've recently decided to root my mytouch 3g with the headphone jack, which probably makes it the 1.2 version, and I'm starting to regret it. I've followed the steps fine on this website (link below) until I got to step 3. I rebooted my mytouch however it is now stuck at the HTC magic screen. It hasn't changed for quite a while. I was wondering if my phone is bricked. Hopefully it's not and if it's at all possible to fix it. (just remove the spaces to get the link.)

If ur still stuck, pull your battery, press red power/hang-up button + home into recovery. wipe and flash again. Keep reading those guides. What rom are you flashing by the way?
I haven't gotten to flashing the rom yet but I was thinking of the latest stable rom for mytouch 3g. Also I'm currently attempting to revert my mytouch back to the original firmware it came with and trying to see if i can root it again later.
Good luck. Not much out there thats stable like any official rom from tmobile, but its fun to learn (time consuming, too) If you dont feel up to it, stick with what it came with. New updates coming soon(ish) anyway.

Lol soonish. Yeah I couldn't wait so I decided to root my phone. Hopefully I get things working.
you should be fine. Read and follow correctly. I used that same tutorial when I unlocked mine.

This is what I used and I didn't run into any issues. Follow that to the "T" cause if you reboot at a particular part, the part that says "DO NOT REBOOT" and you do, you're jacked.
Hope you get it to work. Enjoy!
Luckily I managed to get it to work after many long hours and failed attempts. It seems that I was doing everything right and I just needed to shut off my phone manually instead of letting it restart when it prompts me to. If I had known this I would have saved myself many long hours of frustration. But thanks guys for the suggestions and help. It's nice to know I can have support when I need it.
How did you mange to pull it off? I have the same phone as you do, and I've been trying for days to get out!! just to use the phone on any rom then i'll try rooting it again!!
Please help me, im begging you!!
Thanks
Please provide the steps you did, if you don't mind specifically!!
Well wife got OTA on her phone and selected update.
Thanks to reading and following the instructions I was able to:
FIRST
My wife's phone was HW locked. Knowing this OTA could soft bricked I followed the instructions and flashed the fix a week or two ago.
TODAY
Bingo she got the OTA and bricked (just Mobile AP and Root she had). I found the instructions and BAM!! back to stock.
Now she runs fusion - lol
Again - thanks all for the time you put in to help others. I was able to find and read all material necessary to fix my problems. Thanks

What instructions did you follow to unbrick the phone? I'm having the same issue.
I hear you. I soft-bricked my phone with the OTA and T-Mo was useless, as expected, wanting me to send my phone in and pay for shipping. It took me in total about 30 minutes including download time to get the stock, and OTA files, to flash through with odin and bam my phone was up and running and everthing has been great since.
Keep up the good work.
how?
How did you get back to stock. im bricked right now aswell and all i get is the vibrant screen. but i can still access recovery and access clockwork recovery.

I'm glad we could help your wife brick her phone? I guess? lol
..
glad all you got her back up and running again though

FYI -
If you plan to flash ANYTHING and the thread is 100+ pages - guess what - READ the 100+ pages. Better you take 1 hour of your time top read 100+ pages than hard brick your phone.
Is it even possible to soft brick this phone? It seems no matter what you do its fixable.

To start off with I have had my phone rooted since my g1 in 2009. I did not hesitate to root my mytouch earlier this month and it was successful. Unfortunately, my phone would no longer boot (not turn on at all) after a week of being rooted. I am not sure if rooting caused the error but now I am afraid to root my replacement. I wanted to at least flash my backup but I am afraid to even root for that. Also I should add that I root to flash roms not because I think it's "cool". Can anyone give me advice on if I should root again?
What did you flash right before the phone would not boot or turn on at all? Perhaps it is not the root but the roms that you are flashing. I certainly am not an expert but perhaps you might just try rooting and than wait a few days before trying to flash any roms. Also all that I have read states that you should read up on all the procedures and follow them to the letter. I have had that brought to my attention in a couple of instances. I just received my replacement (screen issues) and have rooted it again and so far things seem okay. I am going to wait and read and learn more before I flash a rom again. Good luck!!

Yeah, I had flashed the hd port after using the z port and that's when the issues started. I think I will root again and just try to be more careful even though i am pretty sure I followed all instructions.m
Sounds like to me it was just timing between phone hardware and your flashing. Unless you are screwing around with with the ROMs prior to flashing without knowing what your doing you should have no issues. If it was ROM related you would see these boards all lit up with people having the same issues...and you simply dont see that.
All,
I've been rooting Droids for awhile, just got a streak, and I messed it up.
I tried to root it with superboot, and killed it ... regardless, was able to fix, and then tried a few ROMS, cannot get Cyanogenmod off .....
How can I get my streak back to the current AT&T 2.2 build that's out there.... I know ther are tutorials, but all seem to lead to a black screen for me .... please help
I had the same problem.
When I had the black screen, no logo, no nothing, I was still connected by USB. While the screen was still black I unplugged the USB and the phone came back to life in recovery mode.
Just a bit of info, try using QDLTool (repairtool) from http://streakdroid.com/?page_id=92
It reset me back to stock 2.2.
Just make sure you follow the Main tutorial instructions.
...
Well, figured it out on my own, thanks to those who replied.
Unbeknownst to me, the bootloader (recovery.img) that you use greatly impacts which .pkg files you can and cannot install.
So, for future reference, if anybody runs into my issue in the future, make certain you have the proper recovery.img file ... worked as soon as I figured that out.

Moving to General
Hello everyone,
I have been on this site for sometime, always reading and waiting to be able to take the plunge into all the fun.
I am a Bell subscriber, and have enjoyed my phone till this point, but now I would like to be able to get everything back to normal.
A couple months back, I messed up my Atrix and decided to flash the following sbf file onto it, 4.2.11.MB860.Retail.en.FR.
It has been running good since then.
Now I want to be able to get back to the Bell software and be able to take the OTA updates, and have my car dock working again.
I have read until I am blue in the face, and there is so much jumping around from thread to thread, I am really lost when it comes to start this.
My phone is currently rooted using Gingerbreak 1.20, I have backed up everything, and am willing to do anything to this phone to accomplish this. I am not to worried about it, as I have purchased the extended warranty on it, so I hope I am covered.
My questions are:
Do I need to unlock my phone to proceed to the next step?
if so, I use ihop-bell?
I install CWM, I currently use the one with Rom-Manager
I download the Bell 2.2.2. Gobstopper? Install it?
I have the current version of RSD lite installed on my computer
then I ????? this is where I get lost again.
I know some of you are saying read the steps posted, but it seems they all lead to different pages and I kinda got lost in the process. Would someone point me to a step-by-step that could help me please?
Sorry for inconveniencing any of you, but it is greatly appreciated
Thank you
Fred
