I would help you more (by uploading the images) but since I don't have the phone yet, I'm afraid I can't.
I will upload the files for you if you can tell me how to extract them from my phone. I presume I will just need to "dd" a couple of partitions, can you confirm, and if so, which ones ?
Edit - partitions 22 and 25 ?
Edit2 - argh, my phone isn't rooted yet, so I don't think I can do it

Cool, I figured out the correct commands myself
However, see my later edit - my phone isn't rooted. Yet. Let me see if I can root it now and do that for you.

Thanks steviewevie!
I will be so happy. I really appreciate this. will waiting.
ok, I rooted my phone. Just extracting the images now, will upload soon.
An extraction from a phone is not required
Download the official ROM from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822908
Now, run the RUU, let it load, and keep it open (don't close it)
Go to C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Local\Temp\
look for the 2 new folders and search inside for rom.zip (it's the biggest file)
Open rom.zip with WinRAR or ZIP and there inside you will have boot.img and system.img

Thank You, but i don't have windows to use this .exe file.
Well, if you still want them, I've uploaded them. The system.img was too big for a free Mediafire account, so I uploaded them to my Dropbox. But you don't need Dropbox to download, they are below :
boot.img
system.img

Hi
Is there anyway to make .sin file from the system folder and put it into a ftf file and flash it through flash mod?

No, that is not possible as sin files are signed by Sony. Only Sony can do that. Btw, wrong section.

you will need an updater-script and binary
in the script you want to mount the dev block for the modem and package extract the modem
I can create a zip for you where all you would need to do is just place the modem

Is there any tool to extract system.img?
UPDATE:
I found a way how to do it.
I used sgs4ext4fs by Chainfire to modify system.img and after that Ext2explore to extract files from modified system.img .
Also if anyone is interested how to extract hidden.img, first you need to modify it with sgs4ext4fs and after that use sgs2toext4. Then you can open modified hidden.img with ext4_unpacker and extract files from it.

Maybe you could repack it with root files to get root. There is a how to video on you tube. I would do it, but my linux machine is down.

bare with me on that one since I tried too many different options, following worked for me - required files attached here (I ziped, so hopefully XDA did not blocked it)
This is for Windows PC:
1. Download sgs4ext4fs.exe, and download firmware, unzip firmware up until you see system.img.
2. Open command prompt (on windows, click start, type cmd) where system.img, and type
sgs4ext4fs --trim system.img systemt.img
........ > you will see bunch of ............., but wait until it finishes.
3. Once it finishes it creates systemt.img, get sgs2toext4.jar (save it to the same folder), and open sgs2toext4.jar, and drag and drop newly created systemt.img to the window (sgs2toext4.jar's window), wait until it finishes, when it finishes it will create systemt.ext4.img
4. Now last step, download ext2explore.exe, and open it, and go to file --> open image and pick systemt.ext4.img, it will show the img file there (on both side of window), on the left side, select the systemt.ext4.img (should be showing full path), right click your mouse, and select save to your desktop or any other folder location you pick.
Obviously, next step will be odexing everything:laugh:

I already shared the firmware here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75076587&postcount=7
This is the September version. In order to get to the newest version of Nougat, you have to install the update zips one by one. They are on the forum too.
Happy flashing

No, unzip the archive and then click on Edit phone Information on OST. You can do this while the archive is extracting to skip some wait time. Then open your favorite terminal program and flash the img files from the archives like this: (example with the included fastboot-android.exe on Windows)
fastboot-android.exe flash x x.img. X is the filename of the img file. You can look into my linked article to see which partitions you have to flash for a complete system reinstall. Note: if you flash recovery, your twrp will be replaced by the stock recovery.
