Hi.
I will go outside for a year, and i would like to configure a good app for video chat for my parents. Not "phone2phone" apps, since i have a Samsung Wave with Bada OS (and there isn't any app for video chat there) but something like "phone2pc".
Suggestions? Thanks in advance.
SKype or gtalk ?

is there any software available for the m5000/universal that lets you use the in-built video camera over an internet connection to see other m5000 users? like a video version of Skype??
I am very interested as well in a videochat app that uses Wifi. Any news on this?
I'm also curious, why does MSN Messenger and Skype for Pocket PC not utilise at least Audio, let alone video!?
I've not found any software yet. microsoft portrait came close but didn't allow you to use the m5000's built in camera.
ideally, msn messenger or skype is the way forward. from a business point of view video chat over the internet would be a big advantage.
Definitely! What a great industry in which to hacve the ability to program, if I were able to develop apps for the Pocket PC I'd be developing this right now ;o)
So about a month ago i made a trip to Brazil. Though i was down there i still wanted to keep in contact with my girlfriend so i figured i'd look around for an app that would allow me to video chat. I came across ivisit. Ivisit worked however i experienced choppy video as well as the inability to use the front camera. I was wondering if any of you had any input or suggestion on other mobile video chat programs that you have had success with
Need something Better than orb..
I'm actually switching over to HD2 from iphone, used to enjoy an app on iphone called air video, which used to list all video files in thumbnailed browsable native application [server + app] and streamed with live conversion on the iphone.
I got orb.. but mycast.orb is painful and its not at par ..
Can anybody please suggest an alternative ..
a small bump, in hope of somebody helping me

currently skype is no longer supporting video calling from android (fring used to offer skype video chat, but then skype got mad at them and pulled the plug after the Evo launched. well that is the short of it...) I have not gotten to test fring video chatting on my Evo, as no one else I know has a phone capable of video chat (requires a front facing camera), wait, scratch that, one of my friends just bought the Evo, but we have not tested it yet.
Yahoo Video Calling works on Adam
I can confirm that Yahoo messenger works with the Adam. I did experience some strange issue with video being rotated no matter what position I held the Adam or rotated the camera to.
Sipdroid apparently supports video chat, but have not been able to test it as I don't have a front facing camera device (yet).
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
