[Q] AndChat SSL issue - Eee Pad Transformer General

Whenever I'm connected to IRC using SSL I get disconnected at random intervals with this message. No matter what IRC server.
"Read error: 0x31deb0: I/O error durig system call, Connect reset by peer"
The hex number changes everytime.
Wifi is set to never sleep and it happens on every network Ive been connected to
Any ideas?
UPDATE: GTalk doesn't stay connected either

Glad I am not the only one who notices this. Incredibly annoying . I can't tell if it's an AndChat bug or TF.

I thought it was AndChat bug too... but Gtalk is suffering connection issues too so that makes me wnder if it's a system issue

Hi, I'm the AndChat dev.
The error message you're seeing is exactly what Android is giving to AndChat as the reason for losing connection. AndChat doesn't explicitly disconnect unless you manually request a disconnect, use menu->exit or you have the option enabled to monitor for connection changes and something happens to the connection (e.g. you switch from 3G to WiFi) - in which case you will see the 'Reconnecting due to connection change' message. (That said, if you find any bugs, drop me an email).
Since you're having GTalk issues as well, this seems like a system wide issue.

I had the same problem. It turned out to be a problem with the wifi router I was connected to. I read in the google help forum that you need to be able to open up a particular port to be able to successfully download apps. Sorry, I don't remember the port. I solved it by just connecting to a different access point (I was at work).

Thanks i thought that was probablly something like that
I think that it is T.C.P. port 5228; you need to allow outbound traffic.

on a public connection at the moment but i will make a note of that setting for my home router. Thanks!!

HD2 suddenly stopped connecting to wi-fi.

I have no idea what caused it, but just tonight my phone stopped being able to connect to my home wifi. The wifi symbol in the status bar shows that it is connected, and the phone sees my router but when i try to activate skype it asks me if i would like to use a cellular connection as apparently my wifi does not exist.
Any ideas ?
reboot your modem and router, turn off wifi on the phone until it is back up, then reenable the phones wifi, see if that helps.
No dice. I reset both, the symbol shows me as being connected on the phone but when i load up Opera and try to go to a web page it says 'Connection closed' and Skype also isn't working.
Okay so that's strange. For some reason my HD2 set itself to a Static IP. I went into the Broadcom settings and changed to server assigned IP and it's working again.
Technology is a pain sometimes !

For some weird reason my does a similar thing about every 3-4 days. Nothing changes, it just decides to not connect however resetting the Netgear does the trick (not ideal but does the job).
Other dissapointing thing is often it cant pick up or has poor signal around the house in certain rooms but my wifes bloody Iphone picks up signal everywhere lol (i still convince her, the iphone is inferior)

WiFi problems

Hello! I have some annoying problems with wifi.
1. Sometimes network that i want to connect to, is simply listed as "Not in range". Turning wifi off and on usually fix that.
2. Sometimes network is detected, but phone won't automatically connect to it (it will just show Remembered at the network and disconnected at the top). I have to manually click on the network and select Connect. After that phone will eventually connect to the network, but it will take much longer than normal.
These issues are resolvable manually, but it's annoying. I want my phone to automatically connect after i just turn on wifi.
Any ideas, what could be wrong? Does maybe have to do something with SuperPower program that i have installed?
My specs are in the signature. Similar issues were also happening with RAFDROID HD 1.0 and darkstone's Froyo SuperRAM.
3. Sometimes when browsing the web or watching youtube videos, phone will simply disconnect and one of the above issues will occur. So no automatic reconnect.
Also i forgot to mention that in issue 1, phone don't see any network, not just mine.
Please help, it's very annoying.
Bump. Anyone?
This issue is annoying as i have to reboot my phone frequently to fix this.

wpa supplicant with adhoc disconnects from wifi

I have updated my A500 to 3.1 and installed the wpa_supplicant that supports adhoc from 3.0. Wifi works fine and I can tether from my smartphone. But I noticed something odd whenever I unlock my A500 from sleep mode. It says "No Internet Connection" at the taskbar of the unlock screen and then immediately connects to a network. To test if my wifi is disconnecting whenever the screen was turned off, I logged into GrooVeIP and checked my status with another Gmail account logged into my PC. When the screen was on, the GrooVeIP account was logged in but a few minutes after the screen turns off it logs out. i check my A500 and sure enough it says "No Internet Connection" and GrooVeIP's icon is red and wifi immediately connects to a network and GrooVeIp is back on again. I restored the original wpa_supplicant for 3.1 and the same thing happens. Anyone else encounter this? I haven't found anything about a newer version of the wpa_supplicant with adhoc for the 3.1 and everyone seems to be using the same one from 3.0.
i have noticed some problems on mine too, mine will not connect to DHCP you have to manually enter the ip info. it's very odd, it was working perfect in 3.0.1
ps have you tried to set you policy to always on?

hahahaha... Now I feel completely and utterly stupid. My wifi policy was actually set to turn off during screen off. I didn't remember to check the setting after the update.
There a lot of suggested solutions for the problem you have. from deleting the dhcp lease file to deleting the networks you have saved then re entering them.
try this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138905&highlight=dhcp+problem
Has lots of solutions same to your problem.
And thanks a lot for the tip. You saved me a lot of headache.

Wifi disconnected itself while phone is locked

I have the wifi set to stay on while the phone sleeps (which is how it comes out the box). However, for some reason... Every time I lock my phone the wifi disconnects and tells me "no Internet connection found". I have to then click on my wifi and manually connect it back and it starts working again. It's this happening with anyone else?

try to roll back to the Lollipop DHCP Client. Settings-> Developer Options-> Use legacy DHCP client.
