I finally got rotation and GPS to work on EF02!!!
Here's how I did it:
1. I odined back to the EC05 modem to fix all GPS issues.
To Odin to EC05 Modem:
Download this:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/20210101/ec05modem.tar
Then Download Odin:
Odinhttp://api.viglink.com/api/click?format=go&drKey=1359&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.xda-developers.com%2Fshowthread.php%3Ft%3D1052813&v=1&libid=1306116834963&out=http%3A%2F%2Fk0nane.info%2From%2Fodin-pit.zip&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.xda-developers.com%2Fforumdisplay.php%3Ff%3D716&title=%5BHow%20to%5D%20Restore%20a%20semi-bricked%20Epic%20or%20Bring%20it%20back%20from%20the%20brink!%20-%20xda-developers&txt=http%3A%2F%2Fk0nane.info%2From%2Fodin-pit.zip
Enter Download Mode, then flash it
2. Then download SFR 1.2 final, (it does not come with a kernel, so you will need to flash it, I'd recommend the genocide kernel for the time being), Rotation should still be slow, until you apply this fix:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKECs764ayE
Skip to 1:20 and apply that fix
3. Now your rotation should be fast, now we will want to go back to EF02 and keep fast rotation, so download and flash the EF02 Rom, here via CWM (wipe cache, data, dalvik cache, etc.):
http://holylivingfuck.com/Decad3nce/...dex-Update.zip
4. Enjoy fast rotation, and if you want, you can go to the AA i1 rom, now, but you must do it after flashing the EF02 ROM located above because I tried flashing the i1 rom before that and I was stuck at a bootloop.
Tell me how it goes for you
Thanks
was your gps not working at all, disconnecting frequently or taking forever to find signal?
My GPS was working for the first few minutes, then it said GPS Connection Lost, and never found a signal until reboot, and the issue repeated until I flashed this fix
My rotation is still slow on EF02 even after the upside down calibration.
And of course, /system/bin/sensorcalibutil_yamaha doesn't exist in EF02.

It looks like someone has compiled this for Gingerbread. I used it and now my rotation lag is more or less tolerable.

i have nfinity 0.81 on my tattoo...i never cared if i would have gps or not.
but i come know to a conclusion that i will need it
which rom should i flash and enable gps and than flash back?
which would you recommend..i tried with
fyodor FroYo AOSP Tattoo v0.7.2c
but it didnt worked.
thanks for any help
here's what i did to re-enable GPS:
install the stock rom
root your phone, install clockworkmod
be sure to have GPS enabled before you flash the nfinity rom
Easier way:
Enable GPS.
Flash ROM you want from Recovery.
heh that s nice, didn t know you could do that
Me too. But I try it because I was too lazy to flash stock ROM(and wipe all data) and unfortunately it helps and GPS is working now for me

i enable gps with my actual rom nfinity0.82
flashed spqrom0.7 but nothing changed...still hasent gps activated.
what am i doing wrong?
I don't know but these steps work for me.
Just:
Enable GPS
With enabled GPS boot into recovery
flash some ROM
If it is not OK for you. You can still try to flash stock ROM and then use these step again.
I have an even worse problem. I had nFinity 0.81 with the GPS working (and phone was stable, I'm sometimes running openBmap to scan for wifis and cellular towers and it never crashed). So i flashed the 0.82 (with GPS on) and know the GPS behaves really strangely. If I use GPS Status & Toolbox with the new 0.82 it takes really long to lock to any satellites and when it eventually does lock on, it drops the lock a few times, and if I quit the app and then start it again it starts first finding out the satellites and after a while it locks (0.81 behavior would be to lock on immediately). And now openBmap crashes the phone (reboot). I tried wiping and installing 0.82 from scratch but still it crashes and wan't lock on. I tried restoring 1.6 and then wiping and flashing the 0.82 still nothing. Fortunately I have 0.81 nandroid backup, so I reverted back to 0.81 and there GPS works with the openBmap not crashing the phone.

Yes, it has some issues, but i believe if you have gps turned on at all times it works fine. Only if you turn it on/off, you have to reboot in order to work again. And Kalim also said, that u can have gps turned on and it won't drain any battery, if none apps need gps. So i have gps always on, and it's working
I uber-jacked up my GPS. When I went to cm7 RC4 I lost the ability to get a gps lock. I've tried installing cm6.1, and the "liberated froyo" ROM. Neither return the gps functionality. It just never gets a lock.
Is there any hope for restoring a working gps? If so, what do I do?

Try the following:
1. Download cm7 & applicable gapps.
2. Wipe data, cache & dalvik AND format /system
3. Install cm7 & applicable gapps.
4. Boot into cm7.
4a. Test gps, download gps test from market and run it.
If gps still doesn't work:
5. Download cm6.
6. Reboot to clockwork.
7. Nandroid backup.
8. Wipe everything, flash cm6.
9. Boot into cm6.
9a. Test gps, download gps test from market and run it.
10. Reboot into clockwork.
11. Restore the nandroid you made in step 7 without wiping anything.
12. Boot into cm7 and test gps.
I tried the steps for cm7... gps got no sattelites... FYI when I did wipe Dalvik I noticed that nothing really happened. Is that normal? Everything else shows up as steps on the screen, but wiping Dalvik just immediatly went back to the menu.
i've still got clockworkmod 2.5.0.1 - is that the problem?

Thats normal.
wiping dalvik behavior is what you mean is normal I guess...
Which "gps test" are you speaking of. I tried two and neither gave me any signal... This is looking bad.
when I installed RC-4 and had issues, I tried following what is on post 535 here on this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=956223&page=54
is that what caused the meltdown?

You can't just do the CM7 part, you must follow the steps for going back to CM6.
I understand. Somehow I miscommunicated. I followed steps 1-12 that you gave me, what I'm saying is that after step 4a I had no gps signal showing in the test program. then after step 9a, I still had no gps signal showing on the test.
I hope that was more specific.
BTW thanks for helping
So just to be clear, are you just not able to get a gps signal lock? Or is your gps radio not working at all? When you start up gps test or maps/navigation, is the gps icon showing up in the notification bar?
If the icon is there, but it just keeps flashing and wont lock then check the following:
1: make sure mobile data and/or wifi (connected) is turned on.
2: Then go to Menu>Settings>Locations & Security Settings.
3: Make sure Use Wireless Networks is checked.
4: Run GPS Status (market app)
First, yes the icon appears in the notification bar.
I tried the steps (several times trying gps status). The thing just shows no lat/long. I never get a lock in maps, or any other gps test.
at what point do I proclaim the gps is dead?
I'm calling it dead. Gonna do a factory restore to original Rom/condition. Then take it in as its still under warranty...

I would recommend going to #liberatedAria on irc.freenode.net and seeing if anyone has any idea what might be going on. Good luck.
gps revert worked for me.just flashed 35 still having gps issues.so are we doomed to flash a gpslib revert every time now?since this problem hasnt been listed on the bug tracker does that mean the devs dont consider it a problem?
after I went back to the factor default by following this thread:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc-aria/65654-how-backup-factory-restore-htc-aria.html
I turned off the device and went to bed. In the morning I started to drive to the ATT store and just for fun turned on GPS. It immediately worked...
Just yesterday I used ODIN to bring my Epic up to Gingerbread, which included the modem and everything. As I guessed, the GPS stops working. I used Clockwork to wipe everything (after failing to ODIN back to Froyo. Go me.) and applied the GPS fix. That didn't fix it either. Everything works just fine, better even, which makes me happy, but I am very bad with roads and thus very dependent on the GPS. Are there any other ways I can attempt to fix the GPS?

Odin back to froyo get a GPS lock the flash the gingerbread rom with clockworkmod then see if the GPS works then. That's what I did and never had GPS issues after that

This problem has plagued me both on stock EI22 and on the CleanGB rom.
Several times a minute, while using wifi for any activity (internet, im, market) the wifi will drop for a few seconds and then reconnect.
I have also had both 3g and wifi simultaneously on (at least both icons are showing in the notification bar) until I turn one of them off.
This is very frustrating and I don't know what to do. I have tried assigning a static IP and no improvements thus far. Wifi sleep policy is set to never. I have tried the EI22, EH17, and EC05 modems and the problem persists. The problem only appeared when I upgraded to EI22 (odin to EC05 and applied update). Wifi worked perfectly under EC05. I have other devices that are connected to wifi and they work perfectly.
I would appreciate any help or advice.
Try the kernel from IAP in my signature.
You can also boot into recovery and wipe data, partition cache and dalvik and then setup your apps again. I know that has helped other with the same issue.
Its a pain, but often if you restore data it causes strange issues.
I had that problem and flashed a new kernel and it fixed it I think I'm using the samauri overclock kernel now , I'm not using the overclock or undervolt but its working great for me

I tried booting into recovery, wiping data, partition cache and davlik cache, and upon rebooting and connecting to wifi, the problem immediately persisted.
I tried odin to EC05, update to EI22, and immediately connecting to wifi and it still has the problem.
I don't understand. From a fresh EC05, there is no problem with wifi. Upon upgrading to EI22, it breaks.
I would really like to stay as stock as possible without having a different kernel. But this problem makes doing anything over wifi very frustrating.
Edit: I have tried your kernel and yes it has solved the problem, but do you have any idea on why this solves it? What does it change that is different from the stock kernel that fixes the problem with wifi? Thanks.
I'm having this issue with nubekernal v2. Pretty annoying

I'm having the same problem. First under stock EI22 and now ACS ICS v5. It works fine though when I'm at work with a G router but constantly drops at home with an N router. Worked fine on stock Froyo. Sure would be nice to track this down.
Dave
The only thing I have found that thus far fixes the problem is by running the IAP Kernel. I'd prefer not to be running it and would rather stay stock, but I cannot live with the wifi disconnecting all the time.
On the plus side though, I really have not noticed any changes by running the IAP Kernel on top of CleanGB. That is, it has fixed the problem and everything still looks the same.
I think it isn't really the kernel's fault, but rather wifi flakes out when running your first ei22 kernel after flashing from ec05. It seems that flashing any kernel after upgrading to ei22 fixed it here. I can't explain it.

The problem returns if I flash the CleanGB Kernel back. Like you, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the CleanGB Kernel, but it is a mostly stock kernel (from what I've read) and thus it behaves like the stock kernel in that I still experience the problem.
OK guys I've completely given up.... I've completely bricked one phone and keep soft bricking another and have a third laying around, and I just can't figure it out.
I have a G2. The GPS works in stock 4.2.2 (Tested in GPS status and toolbox app) then I root and flash a new 4.4.2 ROM (tried Malladus and Mahdi) and bam the GPS doesn't work anymore.
When I revert back to stock (through lg flash tool) it works again. HOWEVER, if I just flash the stock 4.4.2 LG ROM GPS works once agai.
Do you guys have any clue wtf is up? I can't figure it out... I've tried changing the GPS config, the drivers, every tool in GPS toolbox. Tried GPS test and I just get nothing. Is there something completely obvious that I'm missing here?
I've also tried the trick where I backup my custom ROM, revert to stock and get GPS lock then restore my custom ROM. doesn't work.
thanks!

Try getting a GPS lock on stock using GPS test. Then go into maps and verify the lock is OK. Let it sit in maps for a couple minutes. Don't press the back key, just use the home key and reboot into recovery and flash your ROM.
If that doesn't work, get a lock in stock using the same method and when flashing your ROM don't wipe /system. I know it sounds weird but I had that happen a few times with me and not wiping system allowed me to get a lock on the custom ROM.
Let me know how it goes.

Ok I was able to fix it!
But in a completely random way.
I'll try to describe it in as much detail as I can so anyone who follows will not spend as much time as I did.
First: The problem. (This only happened in custom ROM)
In stock, my GPS worked fine, no problems and I got good lock and everything.
In custom ROM's, however:
My problem wasn't just that I couldn't lock on to satellites, I wasn't able to even see any satellites.
In GPS Test I wasn't seeing any satellites. In GPS Status and Toolbox in the middle right where it says fix/sat my phone was displaying -/-
I tried everything there was, from downloading GPS states to changing my gps.conf file to basically everything I could find online, and nothing worked.
Yet everytime I went back to a stock ROM, it worked perfectly 0.o.
Fix:
Today I gave it one last shot.
I'll try to describe everything I did down to the letter in case any of it makes a difference
I ran LG flash tool, let the phone turn on, but DID NOT activate.
Then I ran LG flash tool again, and let it activate and do it's thing.
From this point on I ran GPS status and toolbox, and I was both seeing satellites and locking on.
Then I turned on Maps (as suggested) and let it lock in on my position and sit there for a few minutes.
I ran ioroot and rooted.
Then installed TWRP.
I then intended to flash to TWRP 2.7.1.0 but somehow flashed 2.7.0.0, and didn't bother changing it. (I don't recommend doing this as it could cause problems.... I was just too frustrated to change)
I backed-up EVERYTHING.
Then I downloaded and saved onto my phone Malladus, Gapps, and the 11a-24-twrp.zip file that was needed.
I flashed it, and BAM it worked.
I turned it on, activated and immediately ran GPS status and toolbox and it worked right away.
Before if I flashed I would just get -/- in GPS status and toolbox, but now I find satellites and lock quickly.
Good luck to anyone who has this problem!
Try following my steps, they may just work.
And thank you for the help!
