[Q] How to root the sgs2 - Galaxy S II General

Dsiclaimer: Sorry for the wall of text.
Hello everyone, I just got my new SGS2! Since I'm upgrading from the Nexus One, a phone I never felt I needed to root as it was so good by default. I realize I have A LOT to learn from you guys!
I have a set of questions for the SGS2 and heard most can be solved by root
1. Can someone point me to a) a video for Morons ; b) a guide with pictures explaining step by step how to root the Smy SGS2 running:
Kernel 2.6.35.7-I9100XXKF2-CL253204 [email protected] #2
Build: GINGERBREAD.XXKF2
2. I've noticed the SGS2 has issues playing games designed for the nvidia tegra 2 chips. I heard CF3D can fix it. Where can I find it? Side install? Are people happy with it? Shall I better wait for developpers to update their games?
3. I already changed the standard launcher for Federico's LauncherPro. However, I find myself longing for the calendar, the frame & running applications widgets. Will Root give me any possibilities to use these again?
4. The standard music application is kinda ok but its bugs and limitations made me switch back to Playerpro. Will root provide me with the ability to have a proper screen lock widget (playerpro sucks in this aspect).
5. The gallery app always displays thumbnails of all my albums (darn it!) I heard of the .nomedia idea, as well as some apps. Can someone tell me which apps are the best for removing artists and albums thumbnails from the gallery while still displaying them within the music app? Alternatively, what is the best alternative to the standard android gallery (uh 3D.... yeah I dont care, gimme grid view)?
I would like to apologise if this needs to be contained in many different threads.
I will follow this thread closely as I am really looking forward to your answers. You don't have to answer everything, but if you could provide with at least some answers I will be sooooo grateful: I want to make the best possible use of this nice display
Cheers
JC
p.s. I know the answers to all my questions is not to rub a magnet back and forth over my computer's hard drive

Ecstatic about my Galaxy S after 1 week - having returned my iPhone 4

Hello all, I posted this on another site, but thought I should post it here too as I have overcome some of the teething problems I had when posting here previously, and am REALLY happy with this phone.
Ive flashed with Pauls Modaco ROM, and replaced the TouchWiz with LaunchPro, and am VERY happy with the speed and overall performance.
I did have a bit of a lag and a bit of a wifi connection issue, but flashed the rom again and the wifi problem disappeared, the lag went with TouchWiz.
GPS has been fine, Navigation great, so has voice searching, playback of my Divx Xvid WMV videos and Flac Ape WMA etc audio files... been loving just dragging and dropping my movies and music to the EXT SD disk, just lovely to NOT have iTunes try to control your life!!
Yahoo and Gmail push are fantastic and incredibly fast (for yahoo you MUST use the Yahoo Mail app which gives you IMAP on Yahoo!!! (yesssssss!!!!) with all its folders etc.
Recording 720p videos has been really amazing, smooth 30fps with no dropped frames, and the audio was surprisingly good too. No flash for stills, but the cam shoots well in low light and you can bluetooth share the photos with your friends too.
ABSOLUTELY bloody delighted I am, by far the best phone I have ever used, thank god I saw the light and returned my iPhone 4, though its really a very good phone, just not as good as this, with the openness, speed, flexibility and widgets!
Thanks for the community and support here,
Mark, UK.
Yes with the newer firmwares gps and lag no longer an issue, and i think launcher pro is a must for this phone.I just love the customisation possibilites with android, you really can make your phone unique and your own.
As for the hd video recording i was playing a few back through the ps3 last night and really was shocked by the clairity of them (being realistic and considering its a phone)
Mark, great testimony.
I'm just about going to eBay off my SGS and get an iPhone 4 mainly because of the serious lags and GPS faults. I'm still very keen to try out Froyo 2.2 but perhaps on a device that has better performance and GPS. As it is now I have not been able to realise some of the key reason why I came to Android - i.e., to watch flash videos and to have browsers that some reports claim is as much as 3 times faster than iPhone's. (I know, I know, I should have known that it is still running 2.1. The Optus shop assistant assured me that she had personally installed 2.2 onto SGS, and I was naive enough to take her word for it before buying)
I like to get to exactly where you are now. Would you mind giving us the links to your firmware please?

Hi Steve, no probs, but I am running 2.1 still!
From experience on ROMS for Hero and then my WinMo Touch HD before that, the best roms are based on manufacturer's release versions. I dont have any GPS problems, certainly no more than any other phone Ive had, and even my expensive, in-car Garmin gps-specific device still takes a while to get satellites sometimes! I have successfully used my phone twice so far to enter an address and do turn by turn navigation.
For my ROM, I paid a bit to Modaco last year, so that still entitles me to free downloads of their roms, the link is
http://android.modaco.com/content/s...rom-for-samsung-galaxy-s-with-online-kitchen/
You DO have to flash first to one ROM then to another, as Paul says in the instructions. For rooting, I think there are some easy instructions on this xda forum.
For the Launcher Pro, Id just search the market.
I have nothing against the iPhone (other than the design flaw and slimeball steve jobs smoke and mirrors) my wife has a 3gs with iOS4, it runs well as a phone, but IMO it is really for people who want a phone with apps that are useful to them... nothing wrong with that! For someone who wants to be closer to the cutting edge, nothing beats android. Personally, as a bit of a geek myself, I love to have a phone that works AND have an exciting phone. No other phone on the market offers ALL of what the SGS does... not even the Evo.
Mark.
ps, the Evo does have 4g but no divx xvid ape flac

Hey Mark,
I've just downloaded JG1. However, since this is my first Android phone, I have no idea what to do with it. Currently I'm having a rooted JF3 firmware. Would you mind just in a few points tell me how to install JG1 since the Modaco link assumes that it's already done?
BTW, the way I unrooted was to download an update.zip file into \sdcard, then press volume, power and home, select the update.zip item, and that's it. Is the procedure for installing JG1 similar? Do I need to rename JG1.zip as update.zip?
Thanks a million, and I look forward to sharing your joy in using this phone.

Sounds very easy. Thanks for your great help. I assume to move to the custom ROM in modaco, I do exactly the same thing again?
I'm having problem. This is what I did:
- I copied JG1.zip into sdcard, and rename it Update.
- Turn off the phone
- Press volume up+power+home until I see the Samsung logo, then let go.
- Use the volume key to go down to apply sdcard: update.zip, press home.
Here, I have these messages displayed:
#MANUAL MODE#
--Apply Muti-CSC...
Installing Muti-CSC
--Install from sdcrd...
Finding update package
Opening update package

Installationg aborted.
What did I do wrong?

I don't think you're supposed to flash JG1 as an update.zip? I was under the impression that update.zip is for rooting/unrooting and custom ROMs, and not for official firmware...
You need to flash it with Odin if the update.zip method isn't working!
I can't post links since I'm a new, unverified member (grrrrr...) but go to the Galaxy S Android Development forum here at XDA, there's a {BIG FAQ Thread} {Flash/Root HOWTO}, read post #2 in that thread!

I'm not sure what's in the JG1.zip file.
What I have done is exactly what post #2 says. I don't see any step that I did being different from what it says I should do.
Still no luck with JG1 Installation. Anyone knows what the problem is?
You need to flash rom via Odin here is download link for Odin and PIT:
https://www.wuala.com/Samsung Galax...din/Odin & Bootloader(.PIT)/?key=AfzUZSU4SpKU
Download relevant firmware, in this instance JG1 which you will find at the following(you need to register first):
http://samsung-firmware.webs.com/WEBPROTECT-samsungi9000.htm
Also there you will find at the bottom flash guide in PDF. Download that and follow the instructions.
Once you have flashed firmware then you can flash custom rom.

Have you succesfully installed drivers on your pc?
I know I can use the Odin method via PC to flash the ROM, but I had chosen method B procedure B described in this post to flash instead:

I want to know why it was not working. Or is the post wrong in saying that you can use method B procedure B?

TimeScape removal*Speedboost* + removal of other apps

By removing:
- TimescapeLargeUI.apk
- TimescapeLargeUIThemeBlue.apk
- TimescapeLargeUIThemeGreen.apk
- TimescapeLargeUIThemeIndigo.apk
- TimescapeLargeUIThemeOrange.apk
- TimescapeLargeUIThemeSakura.apk
- TimescapePluginManager.apk
- TimeScapeProvider.apk
...in the system/app directory with root explorer(mount r/w) or other root file managing software. Just deleting these apps alone allow you to GREATLY increase the snappieness(get it...snapdragon) of the X10. Personally I find that it is a useless App that bogs down the phone more then it's worth. Once you have uninstalled it then restart the phone. Ensure that before you remove Timescape that you don't remove any other files at the same time before restarting as this will eliminate the possibility of the timescape removal creating an error.
Do not remove gtalk.apk, or any other google apk's as you are risking messing up some features (Market for example)
Other apps I have found are safe to remove: *UPDATED LIST*
- backupandrestore.apk (Second-party app from the market or Titanium backup works better than this default app)
- Calculator.apk (For the most part a very basic calculator, A free Scientific calculator app from the market is worth the download if needed.)
- Any of the Language* apk's (chinese, danish, korean, japanese) *LatineIME.apk is for the default android keyboard(not the initial one you have when you first get your phone, you will only know about it if you changed it)
- Emanual.apk (Not required unless you really need it, you can still access it from the SE X10 support area on their website if needed)
- EManualLauncher.apk (part file for Emanual.apk, remove aswell)
- Facebook.apk (Facebook is for the sad and lonely, I don't care what kind of burrito Sh!t's your having at 4AM)
- LearningClient.apk (Word memory, it works as a word learner when word suggestions are enabled on the keyboard, when typing in a word it sometimes switches to the "correct" word that it thinks after pressing the space button. When you backspace to get the word you wanted to appear again This service looks at that word and if it use more than once on intentionally then it will remember that and give you the option of that word in the suggestions. Thought I might answer that one since people have asked) *If you don't use word suggestions since it slows down texting then you can remove this.
- moxiermail.apk (Gmail.apk or another email app from the market are definitely better than moxier)
- Officesuite.apk (Not the full version, download the full version)
- OMAClientProvisioning.apk
- playnowappinstaller.apk (If you don't use it then toss it, not that interesting) 1
- playnowback.apk (If you don't use it then toss it, not that interesting) 2
- playnowclient.apk (If you don't use it then toss it, not that interesting) 3
- qcsemcservice.apk
- quadrapop.apk (boring game, good for a day or two but then you find better)
- SemcCheckin.apk
- SemcEmailLargeui.apk (along with the email.apk)
- SemcSetupWizard.apk (I set it up already and the only way I would need it again is if I reflashed and I would have all default apps again anyways)
- SetupWizard.apk (part of the previous Semc...apk)
- SnsContactImageCacheProvider.apk
- StatusSwitch.apk
- usersupport.apk (just not needed in general)
- uWlopProvider.apk
- wisepilot.apk (No need if you have Google Maps, Google Earth, Garmin, TomTom, etc)
- youtube.apk (If you have full episodes or movies on your phone and just don't use youtube then theres no need for this bogware)
By deleting these apps I have sped up the X10 so much I'm amazed at how much of a difference I've seen...maybe even a speed increase X10. I can now say I am fully happy with this phone.
List of features working...but faster.
Phone calls
Contacts
All games that normally worked anyways
Camera
HD recording
Settings menu
Wifi
Phonebook
Messaging
Alarm clock
Browser
Calendar
Gmail
Latitude
GMaps
Market
Media Scape
Navigation
Places
Voice Dialer
...everything...I've done my research. Any apps unlisted just means I have deleted them myself, doesn't necessarily mean their not working.
I currently have 183.21MB used with 169.41MB free. Not bad I'd say.
I await your post in about one day asking for the Timescape APKs because you can no longer make phone calls.
You've probably created a placebo effect. You only think the phone is faster. Run benchmarks, then see how the phone operates. You may think deleting browser.apk or dialer.apk is a good idea now, but when you're in an emergency and the phone won't work, you can't blame anyone but yourself.
Also: You don't know what people need/want from their phone, so it's best to not act so superior. (especially because you're far from the first to delete apps from their phone.)
I have looked into what files I can delete and I have also had to re flash because of my curiosity. Since your obviously the degrading type I can see you have an obvious lack of respect for someone who has done the research and the hit and miss troubleshooting of finding out what a general audience would want to possibly remove if not needed. Not everyone has facebook, or uses youtube. I personally prefer using youtube on my monitor compared to a smaller more costly device such as a data restricted cell. I don't use twitter, facebook, or any timescape dependent service as sms/mms are handled through the default sms/mms app that then forwards it's data to timescape. I wouldn't be in the aerospace industry(military to boot) if I have no idea what I am doing. Since I was smart enough to back up all the default app .apk's after a fresh flash then I know I will not be asking you for any of the apk's, your useless comment doesn't carry any weight.
*I was on the phone when I removed the timescape app since it is not tied to the dialer service.
No point in starting an arguement.
But, not everyone is you. If I'm on a long train ride, the ability to watch YouTube videos is a lifesaver. Obviously one could watch on a monitor, but I don't have that option when I'm not at home. The point of a smartphone is to be able to do things you can do with a PC, when you're not at home.
Timescape is tied to many more things than you think, at least in 1.6. Maybe SE removed those dependencies in 2.1, but if you're deleting the major marketing point of the phone, why did you buy the phone to begin with? Just food for thought. Not looking to start fights.

Sorry but i know many people who have unistalled Timescape (even Mediascape) since they have 2.1 with no issues at all.
The main purpose of buying the phone for me was not for the software SE has built on top of android(Timescape/Mediascape), but more for the hardware achievement that Sony has produced by packing so much functionality into one mobile device.
Just having android without any manufacturer modification still gives a ton of room for growth and possibilities to be seen. My goal was to supply a list of apps that are safe to delete without disturbing the stability or functionality of the phone as a whole, while providing another easy work around. These apps I know, as I have tested with 3 phones now, do not effect the user experience greatly. Since I have removed the apps I have had no problems with data, texting, phone calls, boot loops, the market, or browsing. Pick and choose which apps you need and don't need but from what I have removed I'm getting a greater user experience based on performance and alternative functionality.
Games and third-party apps still work fine, but are now faster.

I agree. There are many more apps you can delete with no issues, it depends only if you're gonna use them or not.

If you were looking for functionality, you bought the wrong device. Single touch, 65k color screen and 384MB of RAM? Not what I'd call the pinnacle of technical achievements.
The number of dependencies in 1.6 where removed in 2.1 as most of the initial software on the phone are layers. Sony stated that they learned from 1.6 by not going too deep into the core of android but more by means of creating "layers"(boot apps) on top of the core system.
Since they switched to layers they created the possibility to give rooted users the option of choosing alternatives to the initial software. The obvious apps you can remove if unused are facebook and youtube as they are obvious non dependents.(Facebook does have a slight dependency to timescape, but with timescape removed then that issue is not relevant)

For the price to features ratio and the features they have included (8.1 MP Camera, 720P recording, 1Ghz processor, 4.0" tft screen + others) It is as functional as I need. Multitouch will eventually find it's way to the phone one way or another. Also on a 4" screen the difference in colors is unnoticeable side-by-side to other devices that I have checked out. RAMS not an issue with a decent task manager.
I bought the phone to be a android phone.. not some piece of infected bloatware.
I want my phone phone to be mine not SE's..
So if you don't want to remove time scape... then ignore this thread.

Exactly my thoughts. The biggest performance jump I saw from deleting any of the apps was by taking out timescape. I bought the phone because it was android and because a majority of hardware is quality. I didn't buy it because it was SE, that just happened to come with it.

Hey Swifty76, do you mind feeding us an update for say maybe the next week or two on the performance of your phone? Just a quick so far it been perfect OR crap I had to reflash because my phone messed up. Reason im asking is because I would remove alot of those apps you listed, but I don't need my phone messing up on me...so just keep us posted on how its going and if all is well Ill go for it to. Thanks for the post.....try to keep an eye on the camera for pictures and video as thats important to me.
uhhh... so i have to root my phone to remove those apps, right?

Yeah you have to root your phone to be able to properly uninstall a majority of these apps. The camera is working great so far on all 3 phones. The camera is saving and viewing properly as well. I would recommend the 3D gallery as a picture viewer. Winamp or poweramp are good for the beats.
Haven't found a decent video player yet, anyone know of some good ones?

For Pictures--- Gallery or JustPictures (it has One Touch zoom that works great)
For Music--- PowerAmp (simply amazing!)
OBS dont remove gtalk, it will couse a lot of problems, trust me, if you did, read here forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6822850

I've said it probably three hundred times on these forums: We are NOT the target audience for this phone. The phone sells to millions, each who bought it for different reasons. I regret my purchase, as now Docomo is releasing Japanese-market focused Android phones, instead of the world-focused X10.
But yeah, to the OP, my point was, you can't just delete everything in one go, say performance is awesome 20 minutes later. There's just no way to tell how the phone will do after a week or two in this state. Maybe it really is that much faster, which would be nice. But, to prematurely say it's amazing then find out later that something doesn't work properly would suck. And, from reading XDA, people always delete things they need and come back and whine about them because they didn't back up properly.

can anyone help (dspmanager, call recording, geotagging & custom roms

Well I have had my sgs for a couple of weeks now on the whole very happy with android can't help thinking how great my last phone (i8910) would have been with froyo though, oh well. ,Anyway so I have managed to root and lag fix a stock 2.2.1 Rom and add the voodoo sound driver thing as well as the clockworkRom bootloader. So think I'm doing ok, albeit with a couple of big mistakes. Thank god for titanium backup pro and latterly CM.
Any way i have tried to install dsp manager a couple of times via different methods and each time suffered the hardest to recover from failures both times took several hours to find the
right recovery combinations. So does anyone know why this is?
My ultimate goal is to increase volume on music playback on my Bluetooth headset so if you have a better way this would also be welcome?
Secondly I can't find a single call recording app that will record both sides when using Bluetooth headsets anyone know of anything?
Thirdly i see geotagging remains an issue on the sgs I'd like to share increase that 5x zoom pro works okay a camera app that can disable geotagging but it misses some of the better features of the native app like anti shake and smile detect etc does anyone know of a better option?
Finally the custom Rom's thing is confusing me a great deal is there a decent beginners guide that has information regarding most of the main ones and their main benefits?

[Q] taboonay 2.0 to 2.2

I've had a search through the forums and various websites but with no luck to a simple question (well, I think it is !)
I'm a A500 and android new user for a total of 2 days and moved over from my ipad1 as I use skype a lot and couldn't justify the cost of a new ipad just for a camera. Anyway - onto my question.
I've already rooted the tablet but am looking at also using a custom ROM to play around a little to see what they are like etc. Can I go straight from Taboonay V2.0 to 2.2 update or do I have to flash V2.1 between ?
Will I lose all my apps and settings when I put the custom ROM on or can I back everything up, flash 2.0, then 2.2 and then restore apps & settings ?
One last question - Is it possible to put 'folders' on the home screen on the A500 ? I like one screen where I can click on a folder into games for example and then another folder inside with racing before clicking on a racing game. I really like a home screen with minimal icons on (I realise it'll take me some time to get away from the iOs but I'm the same on my PC also.)
I've just downloaded v2.1 FULL so will put that on and then 2.2 (is it the same process for 2.2 apart from the wipe/format option)
Any answers to the other questions would be appreciated though.

I've just downloaded v2.1 FULL so will put that on and then 2.2 (is it the same process for 2.2 apart from the wipe/format option)
Any answers to the other questions would be appreciated though.
Cheers

Was just about to post and tell you to do exactly that. You shouldn't need to wipe in between versions, but I ALWAYS do a full wipe and format on every install.
As to the folders question. There is no option natively to do so on HC, but I have seen some pretty creative apps on the market, so have a look there.
i use folder organizer for my folders and desktop visualizer for the home screen shortcuts to each folder. Grab yourself a nice icon pack from one of the many threads on icons here and you're all set. Let me know if you need help to sort it out.

AOKP - Requests for development (Th3Bill's rom)

Well guys we have a pretty good chance to include everything (...what is possible) we ever wanted on our Atrix...
in an other thread th3bill (the dev. behind AOKP milestone 6 port) opened there were alot of request for features on the next builds, th3bill offered to open a discusion which include all requests in one place.
** Th3bill, we love your work and your willing to do for others. your private time "wasted" on porting and developing is not ovious and we do appriciate it. keep on the excellent work and again a major thank, us - the users.
since nobody did it so far i'll start:
i whould like the next build to include:
1. call recording option.
2. video call option.
3. webtop interface?
4. google music.
5. led color control in order to customize notifications.
6. o.c kernel.
7. some other cpu governors.
8. google's android jellybean featuers? espacially build-in voice recognition.
things to fix (what i've noticed):
1. video cam - known problem.
2. browser issus (fc when changing ls and portrait).
3. edit custom brightness levels (fc).
4. can't change signal and wifi colors.
5. also battery bar won't show up.
6. wifi direct won't work.
7. wifi hot spot works and immidiatly stops(maybe it's just my device).
-By now your port is the best rom my atrix had so...big thanks !!!
-I know you working too hard already (DON'T FORGET TO HAVE FUN !!, i wrote all of the things i think can be added. with or without them it is still almost perfect.
guys it is your turn now...make some suggestions for improvement:
Hey Everyone!
I'm sure most of you know me by now. Those of you who do not, I am NOT the type of rom porter who gets upset by questions/requests/PMs. Just understand that I build 3 builds of MIUI (Photon, Atrix, Infuse), 2 builds of AOKP (Photon, Atrix), 2 builds of Paranoid Android (Photon, Atrix), as well as help Jokersax11 with various projects, including our Kitchen Sink. That being said, it might take me a little bit to respond...but I will.

Enhancements:
1) Call recording, I need to play around with this rom some more...see if it has the capability...maybe I can pull from MIUI...can't guarantee, though
2) That will be tough until Moto gives libs
3) Loki and I have talked at length about this...we're trying to figure out a way to do it, but it will take a hybrid kernel and a lot of work. Not that we won't TRY...
4) This will be in the next release
5) Have an app in mind that I can include? Beauty Aroma is that I can include almost anything
6) I am working with Jokersax11 on making some that are compatible with our base. I know that some are kinda compatible, but not all....
7) By governors, I am assuming you're talking about some form of setcpu?
8) I have the apps on my PC...well some of them.
With respect to fixes, 1 and 2...those won't be till Moto plays nice with me and gives me drivers for ICS.
3) I need a logcat on this one please
4 and 5) Not too sure about these ones. I'll try them with my phone if I get a chance. If you can logcat, that'd be great
6) I think this is an ICS thing. Don't know that any of them do Ad-hoc at the moment
7) You need to forget whatever network you are near if you're connected...and make sure that wifi is ON before beginning tether
Sorry if I am a downer on some of it, but I would rather be honest with everything I tell you all. I have much love for the Android Community
I know of you and your builds well Th3Bill, unfortunately I'm just now working on my 10 posts, I have flashed everything for Atrix and Photon.
Much thanks

i defenetly would like a mod (or better - a buildin solution) that will trick the google play to show me all apps. (not the ones comptible with my specific device/settings).

You can try changing the build I'd in the build.prop...but I'm not sure if that would work even...

Just installed latest build an wanted to say thanks for bill's an jokers hard work..
I personally use the car dock alot an the transitions between audio playing and incoming call tends to be troublesome. When calls answered the phone doesn't port it over the USB. Usually speaker/headset and have to redock in call for it to work... also DSP manager doesn't have effect over the USB audio out. Only reason I revert to original moto rom.
That aside best cm9 based rom yet.

Also AOKP states it now supports adhoc.... tried on 2 different setups and no joy...
This is wifi direct I gather..
LS support also varies through various android tasks.

On paranoid android for the atrix when in tablet mode it won't allow me to make the recent apps the Sense htc style one, is there a fix for this?
Question/Report
Not sure if this is the right place to report issues. My luck, probably not. Here it goes..
I had your build 40. worked great!
updated to milestone 6 7b. worked better (yaay)
tried to update to milestone 6 revision. No wipe, same as previous, sent atrix into bootloop. tried few more times, same thing.
tried again with full wipe. Bootloop. tried again. bootloop. flashed 7b full wipe, works great again (yaay).
Just curious if you have any idea why my phone doesn't like the new one. saw in the rom thread a few others had same issue or similar, no answers there as of yet. i'm hesitant it try again unless you can think of something i could possibly be doing wrong somehow. Anything i can send or tell you that could help, let me know. Thanks
As for requests, i prefer Apex launcher over Nova. Maybe include it? it would be nice if i could uninstall Nova also
You Rock!
*So i tried installing again and it works now. not sure what the problem was*
Closer
hi,
not really worked...users didn't cooporate and besides cm 10 (JB) is already here and not bad, so this is closed!!
i wanna thank Th3Bill for his effort and wish you will continue develop for us.

Hwa is in the ROM under advanced.
Call recording isn't yet supported by kernel. Funny you posted this as joker and I are discussing how to fix now

Problems
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this. If not, i apologize.
I flashed your AOKP build 3 on my international atrix. The ROM doesn't recognize internal and external storage for me. When my phone boots it says that is safe to remove sd card. I used the two options EMMC and SD with or without build.prop tweaks. Also i flash this with FULL wipe (system, etc) The other thing that i cannot find are GApps. Can I use CM10 GApps for this rom ?
Thanks in advance.
So, are there options for an OCed kernel yet?
* Moved to development thread. *
I would really love to see an option to "Show only contacts with phone numbers" on Contact list settings...MIUI has this option and this is super usefull for me
MIUI SMS app is great too, but it doesn´t show smileys
Thanks
I have a good one! WebOS and Sense style multitasking (with long press home).
