LAUNCH DAY!!!
I have an appointment at Best Buy Mobile in 4 hours, I'm so excited cannot wait to be off work so I can run there!!
On one part I'm sad that I will be leaving Windows Mobile (Touch Pro2) but they're not coming out with a 1ghz CDMA Winmo phone so it's time to move on... I had tried android before on a G1 but went back to windows mobile after realizing you couldn't do much with it. Hopefully by now android is more winmo like with folder structures and complete control of files etc. Also will miss my $50/mo unlimited everything plan from boost(sprint).
Does Best Buy do 1-year contracts? I'd rather pay the $70 extra for the phone if I have the option of upgrading early.

My cousin works at a store, so I got to cut the line of 15 peopel and be in and out with one.
I got mine this morning. Very satisfied so far, although I can't say I approve of Motorola's attitude towards rooting.
mine will be arriving to my doorsteps tomorrow morning/afternoon, didnt want that hassle of mail-in-rebate so i ordered online.
my appointment is at noon but my wifey is picking it up for me since she gets corporate discount. Woot!

Went to the verizon store after work and they were sold out. Then I went to the mall and got mine there.
I was number 15 to get mines. No preorder just walked in and added a line. Loving it so far also got the carbon fiber case, love those job discounts

Went there an hour and a half before opening, got mine 4th.
got mine at 8:45 this morning. They even let me in the store a little early. I got the phone, some screen protectors, a case and the media dock. Everything i wanted. I am super happy.
How much is the media dock?

The Media Dock is 49.99 the cable is 24.99 and the car dock is 24.99 as well. The gel case is 14.99 and so forth for the others.
I got mine today. Dropped my Evo and gave it to my sister, she was like uh, are you for real, your just giving it to me, , well i think a good deed leads to another in the future!
I love it so far, but, coming from Sense, it's really a diff ballgame. It has me loving the internal Social networks and all the resizing of the widgets and etc...
The pictures and video seem more vibrant than the Evo too. The colors and letters on the screen seem sharper. Hmm.. who'd thought, once again Motorola defies with only 54 Extra Pixels.
Only complain, wtf, with the speaker? Like it's a "Droid" they're known for that, even the Incredible still has a louder speaker, and dont let me get started with the power hous of an Evo.
Besides that, It has been well. This will suffice until the winter when the 2GHZ one arrives and the 12MP and all those goodies.
Would somebody want to trade their evo for a samsung epic 4g? Its only 4 weeks old and comes with all original cords, manuals, and box as well as a black snap on case for protection. I would also ask a little extra cash be provided in the trade seeing as i paid almost full price for the phone. If you want to trade pm me or post in this thread.

I would be willing to trade, I actually thought of putting my phone on eBay. My phone is mint with a Zagg Invisishield on it to protect from scratches and I have the box and manuals.
My phone is fully NAND unlocked with CM6 running on it, I can return it to stock before we trade if you woudl like. PM me if interested.

Dude...with the retail price of the phone and all of those accessories...you have, like, an $800 phone. WTH?
Hey all! Up until two days ago, I was a proud owner of a deliciously rooted Hero. I got my upgrade, and am now enjoying the Evo 4g. This phone is awesome, but man, I thought the Hero dies fast!
Anyways, while shopping Amazon, it came to my attention that the Hero and the Evo share the same battery! Not only did I save my old Hero, but I now get to use the battery as a back up.
The Hero and the Evo share an HTC 1500mAh battery pack, just different charging ports. Check out this post on android forums:

The sprint store was going to offer me $40 bucks for my hero towards the price of the Upgrade, but Best Buy beat them out on price, and now I have a backup phone, and battery.
Not only that, but my Hero, which I loved dearly, gets to help keep my new phone kicking ass 24 hours a day!
the evo shift is a very small looking phone, much smaller than the evo, i was shocked.
$40 would have been pretty good from Sprint for no effort on your part. They average around $75-$100 on ebay depending on various things and how the moon aligns with the sun, so I probably would have taken $40.
How much is another battery? That isn't worth $40 IMHO. I don't go away from a computer/outlet for more than a few hours, however.

The Sprint "rep" at Sams Club told me they would buy my hero for $40 also, and mine has dust under the screen and a lot of chipped paint on the hard keys. But I was just window shopping the Evo, holding out a little longer. If the next new release doesn't entice me, then Evo it is.

I felt the same as you, until I truly experienced just how fast this phone can die on you. The spare battery pack with wall mount on Amazon is $40.00 + shipping, so I figure why not keep the hero for backup phone and spare battery, and if I decide to sell it myself, get more than the crappy $40 Sprint was gonna offer...

So about a month ago, I went into a Sprint store with my Evo with the intent to just LOOK at the BB Bold. The sales guy comes up and is like.. you know... can I help you etc... I told him that the Evo was taking up too much of my time (roms roms roms) and that I was considering going to a BB, I'd had BB before and liked it. He had the BB I wanted. He wanted an Evo. We swapped. He was great about it, guys like him make me happy to be a Sprint customer.
Well........ I MISS MY BELOVED EVO.
So, I know this is a long shot, but is anyone maybe wanting to go to a BB? If so, contact me. My BB is in good shape,it's a Bold, it's got the new BB OS, version 6 I guess they call it. It's in good shape, no huge dents or scratches. It has small scuffs and a small scratch on the screen but not too noticeable. Of course I'd take detailed pics... ESN is good, etc all that jazz. Battery life is amazing compared to an Evo Haha

All I can say is that Sprint guy must be one happy camper! The BB Bold is a nice device but is far more limited in features than the EVO so to me it's not an equal trade. You got what you wanted.
So in reality you will now have to trade your BB Bold plus some cash to get back into an EVO. Nobody will even swap an EVO for a BB. At least most people won't. Mabe you will get lucky and find somebody who feels like you did when you traded your EVO for that BB Bold. Highly unlikely though. Good luck.

try selling it to someone in high school. i hear that "bbm" (messenger) is all the hype now with the kids. my little brothers friend also traded his evo for a blackberry and he paid money too (apparently blackberry messengers a big deal now). so yea just sell it to some younglin and rip em off
Quick reference on some current CL prices I'm seeing:
BlackBerry Bold 9650 - $175
HTC EVO - $250
Not too huge a difference, and prices will undoubtedly vary where you live.

You are probably right... :/ I mean, I love BlackBerry phones and they do everything I need them to do, I just miss the entertainment factor... BB phones are great phones, reliable, I could go on forever... But they're just not... entertaining... Lol.
Oh well, like I said, it's a long shot that someone on here will be looking to swap. I would definitely be willing to kick in some cash, for anyone who's interested.

Lol. I made the same mistake. I traded my Evo for a blackberry, then sold the blackberry and bought an Epic, sold the Epic and I'm now back to the Evo. Try craigslist...

saw the deal, but didn't really think anything of it (I guess because I already had my own earbuds). As for loving the deals, though I do love the site, they get repetitive. There is almost ALWAYS a Gerber Brand Bear Grylls knife of some sort and both mobile and geekout have the same Iphone fm transmitter that show up everyonce in a while.
