Hi,
After searching for days i'm giving up. Please help ?
What i want:
I wanna have a notification icon in the taskbar, just like the BT-icon:
"if GPS is active then show GPS-icon".
I understand that the trick is to monitor the use of the GPS Intermediate Driver. Who can and will help?
Thnx!
I hate to kick this, but please, can anyone of the developers enlighten me?
I'm gonna join the bandwagon for this, I would also like this feature.

Thnx! I hope more will join us, and more will dive in to this to actually get a solution
That's one of the things I'm missing!
Or maybe flash the notification light swiftly 3 times every 10 seconds to symbolize GPS activity.. My previous phone had such led and it was great to actually be able to see what's happening, or that what should happen actually does happen.
I still want this! Is there any developer....?
I want it to
I found it here. It worked on my Topaz but it would be nice if the icon is a satelite instead of just a red/yellow/green dots
I have contacted the author and hope he responds
Hello everyone.
I too needed an application like this and since I had no luck finding one on the market, I decided to write the app myself. You can find on the market by the name GPS Monitor Free by Illyrium. What the app does - it activates itself as soon as GPS is in use and deactivates when GPS is no longer in use. While GPS is in use, the app shows a notification icon with the satellites in view. For the moment this is all that the app does, but I am working to add some other features to it.
The app is free for the moment - and will be free (even the pro version) for everyone that helps me by sending me bugs/features.
If you have any ideas, you are more than welcome to pass them to me an I will try to implement them as soon as possible.
Cheers,
Adrian

Hi
I'm looking for an app that autostart my Deskclock app when i connect my desire to usb especially when i put it into my dock!
is there a possible solution for this?
bumb
does no one know of an app that can change a profile or do a Dock connect when i plug in the power ?
I'll bump this, too.
This is something I've wanted for a while, too. I did a quick search on Cyrket and all I see are low rated apps that somehow need location & internet permissions, etc...No thanks. Not for a desk clock when I plug the phone in. Anybody else solve this yet?
one thing it should support the mcr r5 froyo sense rom
download setting profiles. It can tell between ac power and usb power. So in my dock it launches the desk clock, and in the car it launches the navipanel
I personally use "Tasker" (available in the Market), and it is SUPERB! It's a configurator/tweakers dream. So many possible combinations for what you may want, and the UI is great once you get the hang of each of the elements (read the help first!!).
It's about $3-4, but WELL worth it. You'll probably end up finding so many other ways to have your Android manage its self without any interaction by you (Tasker is basically a much cheaper, more powerful app like Locale).
Hope that helps!
for such tasks i'm using the app 'locale' incl. plugins. i've never found any better solution to control your device ...

the problem with locale is that it costs 10$ dollar and most of the plugins cost too
thanks for the apps i'll try them out
There is such an app for free floating around this forum. Don't ask me where it is 'cause i can't remember but a few moths ago somebody was asking about this and somebody wrote and app that put the phone into clock mode when it was docked, and it came with an app icon that turned the functionality on and off.
I downloaded it and it worked perfectly.
Hunt around here 'cause it was definately in the apps section of the desire forum!!
Hi
just wondering has anybody found an easy way to toggle between 2g and 3g on Villianrom? Found one here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739530 that works with Cyanogenmod, but can't get it to install on Villianrom.
Superpower???
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
There's tons of widgets doing this on the Market
Just trying Superpower now - looks like just the ticket. Green power and juice defender seem to be similar, but have had problems with them not turning data back on - found them to be more hassle than they were worth.
I had a look at a good few of the toggles on the market, but the ones I found tend to just open the relevant section of the settings, rather than actually changing the setting themselves.
Yeah, im looking for the same but cant find any that work, perhaps support could be coded into the kernal?
Hello,
i have two questions, may some of you knows an answer ...(Phone G900F/root/Omega v3.0)
Both are about the popups that will be shown using the fast Buttons, like 'Wifi'/"Bluetooth"/"GPS"/"Offline" etc.
(hope my low level english will be excused)
If i use the button for "GPS" always the 'Google'-question appears ... does not matter if i have chosen just only GPS or locating with WiFi.
Does someone know how to turn off that confirmation question?
The other interaction that i really do not like is ... turning on the offline mode ... turning off the offline mode ...,
i always have to confirm that i really want that ... does someone know any solution to turn that questions off?
thank you very much for reading
thank you very much for answering if you knew a solution
best regards
The confirmation popup is rather annoying actually.
If you leave your location settings on high accuracy, it drains battery. If you leave it to power saver, GPS chip is disabled. If you turn it off, Google Now doesn't work. Seriously, which potato farmer programmed this?
I consider this to be one of the worst changes implemented. Previous Samsung phones such as the Galaxy S4 and the Note 3 had an actual "GPS" toggle in the drop down menu instead of this poorly crafted "location" toggle.
Sometimes I slightly regret switching from Note 3 to S5. Just a slight bit.
Oh well, the G3 is on the horizon

Use xposed framework plus the Modul disable Google network location consent. For the second thing maybe Wanam xposed module got an option for it.

Well, Hi!
I agree to your first statement even if i can follow the idea behind the programming, if i take the position of 'go.ogle' but even the main idea for the user is not that bad, it would have been a great choice to let the user chose which combination they want, like a single GPS-toggle. Or the combination. I was just lucky with that GPS-toggle option on my S3.
Like it is, it is a worst change. Agreed!
Some guys should get in contact with ROM cooking experts if there could be some coding solution.
Until yet i can't post in the developer section. So i have to stay calm.
Thank you for your point of view, so knowing i am not alone ...

sub77,
hi, thanks, i checked my defconfig and samsung antiroot and selinux are already slain.
thought i have a thought it may be related dpi settings though no luck yet.
i'm running a build now with PRODUCT_AAPT_PREF_CONFIG := xxhdpi --> xhdpi
my tree has evolved some since metallica posted sources, am also working on camera
i am also working a build for matisse3g, on that build wifi 3g and camera are down but everything else seems to be in place.
i have an idea i can get one build unified, currently i need matisse3g /system/bin directory from stock.
thanks again.

I would love to test your samsung galaxy tab 4 t530 wifi build. I'm just so sick of touchwiz
Why this will not support T531 ?
As far i know all the specifications are same for both T530 & T531. So does this mean that all the ROMs for T530 will support for T531 as well ?
CIFS?
I got a T530 recently and have been trying out this ROM on it - great work so far. I was wondering if there was any way you could include the CIFS kernel module in the build? This is something that I have in a regular CM11 build on my phone, but I don't see it present in this ROM for my tablet - I was hoping it would have it since this is partially based on CM. It would be helpful to be able to mount network shares onto the tablet for media purposes
Also - I'm not sure if this is a known issue or not, but 5ghz WiFi does not seem to work correctly yet - though the 2.4ghz WiFi works just fine. The ROM will see 5ghz access points for me but will not connect to them. It just appears to do nothing (router in question is a Netgear Nighthawk w/ DD-WRT broadcasting A/N/AC Mixed w/ WPA2 for 5ghz).
I'm using the latest (at the time of writing) pac_matissewifi_KK.RC-3.dev_20141207-025035 build from the download link.
Thanks for all your hard work! It is appreciated
Touchscreen sensitivity
Is it possible to increase the Touchscreen sensitivity of the tab , its is terrible when writing notes with a stylus, Thanks in advance
I'm having some issues connecting to the faster of my wireless networks. I have one 5 GHz/802.11ac network and one 2.4Ghz G-only network. I can connect to the G one just fine, but when I try to connect to the AC network, it prompts me for my security key, thinks for a while, and doesn't connect. The network is marked as "Saved, secured with WPA2", but every time I try to connect it shows "Connecting..." below the network for a couple of seconds, then immediately disconnects/fails. Are there any known issues around this?
Also, is there a way to make the soft keys (back, home, app-switch)? The T530 has hardware buttons, so these soft keys just take up space.

Yes, I connected to the AC network with the stock ROM for a while when I first opened the box but I quickly decided to flash a Rom and this seemed like a nice one.
Also, got the onscreen nav buttons hidden, so nevermind about that.
Edit: sm-t530nu, if that matters

Hmm, ok, how do I do that?
gallery/wallpaper problem
I just flashed and when I boot up the Gallery crashes. I can't change my background or lock screen image.. Is this a known issue?
Tested it,
as expected neither youtube nor camera works. Gallery app force closes all the time, and usb keyboard layout cannot be changed as stated in cm11 log.
The most anoying thing was i couldn't change the launcher from trebuchet to google now. Tried wiping the default action set on trebuchet, but that option is disabled and if i remove trebuchet with titanium backup no launcher shows up.
The rom is awesome, i love aosp look. I'll keep waiting till this gets stable.
Thank you.

Interesting you had that problem, I was able to set Nova launcher as default by hitting the home button immediately after installing from the play store, did you try that?

It was the first thing I tried XD but nothing, it just took me to the trebuchet launcher. I reinstalled stock so I cant test it anymore. Maybe when a new RC pops up I try this again.

Ok, exams are over, so I gave this rom another try. This time i didn't have that annoying you-cant-change-your-launcher thing, everything runs smooth but the lack of mp4 support really kills me. Tubemate may resolve YouTube playback but there's no such option for twitch.tv for example. Your work is great and I really hope you fix the problem with the codecs because i really like this rom.
Thanks

Are you talking about playing mp4 video files stored in the tablet's memory? Because I was able to do that just fine with MX player.

Wallpaper issue -> try a different launcher (my favorite is Nova). Avoid using the camera and gallery apps. You'll see force close notification every time you first boot up, but other than that you shouldn't see them once the rom settles
