Hello,
I just got my nexus s a couple of days ago and I'm not too happy with the performance, it's very laggy and the battery drains quite fast (about 10 hours). In os monitor I find this error message over and over again:
[wm8994_samsung.c /wm8994_resume,3146)] --- ---WM8994 Revision=[3]
wm8994 seems to be an audio hub from Wolfson electronics.
I only found this link on the internet, which strangely is closed to new posts:
Edit: Apparently I cannot post links - it's a google support page that you can find googleing "nexus s error wm8994_samsung.c"
Has anyone an idea if this could be related to my problems?
Thanks a lot!
PS. Resetting the phone and installing a custom rom (oxygen 2.1.4.) didn't fix it.

Thanks for the answer!
I already tried this (my device is a european i9023 though), didn't help.
Today I tried the miui rom, didn't help either, error message keeps on popping up on os monitor. Maybe my device is defective? I should find out soon if I want to send it back to replacement. Nobody else having this issue?
Sorry to nag, but could anybody check with os monitor if you are also getting this error message? Thank you!
Just checked with OS Monitor, and i too get this error message. European i9023 here as well, running latest stable Oxygen.
The Voodoo Control Plus app has some settings regarding the WM8994, maybe some settings to play with? Or a kernel thingy in relation to Voodoo sound?
Thanks for looking it up! So you think there is nothing wrong with the phone? Somehow I have the feeling that the homescreen scrolling is very laggy...
Nothing seems wrong, if you look under the hood of any operating system i guess you'll see many "strange" messages, nothing to worry about i suspect. But if someone could clarify as to what this is and does, i would be very grateful.
Maybe send Google an email or something? And it also leads me to believe this must have something to do with sound and not homescreen lagging..
Guess something is wrong with this phone and this error message just came across. My old Hero, after having been machine washed, is still smoother with launcher pro. I'm sending it back and getting another one.
Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi
I have searched the forum but can't find a great deal and was wondering if someone could help, My HD is running Dutty 1.7.
Whenever I send a text message and then lose signal in transmission I get the message "Your text message cannot be sent" and then it gets moved to the drafts.
However it will then stay there and never attempt to resend, this is really frustrating. I have checked settings make sure sms are sent GSM preferred.
Can anybody help
Thanks
Lee

Mine too, just tried searching. Sorry mate!
Added to Blackstone Issues
Oh well, at least i can stop looking, thinks for the info chaps
I'm kind of thinking it is a WM issue (or at least w/ recent WM builds for the last 8 months). Always had the same problem on my Vogue.
Not a recent problem. I had this frustration on my SPV C500 (remember them? Sept 2004 review!). This is a long-time issue in Windows phones.
Hi guys,
Everytime i start up my phone i get a services.exe error report. I googled the problem and found that on a pc this is normally a malware virus!
Will this be the case for my phone? Do i have a virus?
If so how do i get rid of it, please help!

sorry but im glad im not the only one too lol dont no how bad it is either but i dont want pesonal details, crad details etc took from my phone
can anyone help us?
I can confirm that none of you have a virus. Don't read a virus report for a PC and think it's the same on windows mobile. They're VERY different beasts.
There's very few viruses out there that affect WM, in relation to PCs.
If it makes you feel better, there is AV software out there. Uncle Googles can help you get that.
You've got a software problem. It's probably something that you installed that caused a problem, or something you uninstalled but it didn't uninstall correctly.
viruses on mobiles are incredibly rare, almost always only seen as proof of concept. if the phone is working fine its pretty safe to just turn off error reporting and forget about it. (I always do, and never give it a second thought)
if you really want to hunt down the culprit try removing programs you have added one at a time till it stops.
thanks guys...thats a big relief..i'm brand new to WM hence the apprehensions...i do have a 'F-secure' AV carried it on when i dumped my N96 .
I've had the services.exe error a few times. But only get it when sending texts. The text still sends, so don't really know what it's moaning about.
I'm only running apps that came with the phone and also HTC official hotfixes. No deep tinkering yet for me.
I think its related to using the animated weather wallpaper, which I've since turned off and not got the error since.
Got it also everytime when I start up my phone. Doesn't seem to affect the performance of it, services.exe runs on normally in the background. But it is kinda annoying...
EDIT: To "solve" it I just switched off the error reporting in Settings, System. I seemed to have been blind, I think...
thanks alot guys, really appreciate the replies,
im glad to here it isnt a virus as i had personal details stored on phone,
im not to bothered about the error reporting so ill probably just turn it off
once again many thanks
It could be an app that you installed, as I'm noticing it too sometimes. I more often notice it when after installing, it prompts me to reset my device.
I've had it go away for good after uninstalling the problem app.
hello ladies and gents, new to the site. Thought i might be able to get some answers for a few issues i've been having since the update. I don't know about you guys, but i'm having problems opening my apps after the update. They will try to open and just close immediately afterwards. Also for some odd reason every once in a while the logo for the app will be a white cirlce with a black backround. Very strange and frustrating since now none of my apps open. I will do a soft reset, and they will work for a second, and go back to not working a few minutes later. The system also seems to be running a little slower than usual, and the live tiles for "now" and sometimes a few others will just be a plain blue. any help would be highly appreciated, thanks for all the info you guys give on this forum.
don't all reply at once now lol.. i did a second update last night, odd cuz it says march 2011 update whatever that means.. and i'm still having the same issues.. slow performance, apps not working, and i never even installed a sd card on my phone cuz so many people were having issues. Do i need need to reinstall all my apps? cuz i'm having trouble with the marketplace too.. it's crazy slow, no icons are showing up next to the apps, and there is no download option, wth is going on? any help would be much appreciated, thanks
Sounds like a dud. Take the phone back as fast as you can and get a full refund or exhange for brand new unit.
Hi all,
for the last few days I keep having random reboots with my N10, as well as random lock-ups.
Started a few days after the 4.4.3 OTA update.
happens like this:
I'm trying to wake up my tablet with the power button but nothing happens so I have to reboot.
Or, I am just normally using my tablet ant it spontaneously reboots, without warning, and also without any kind of lockup before that.
What is really annoying is that after such a reboot the tablet is not actually usable: none of the normal autostart apps initialize properly;
flipboard doesnt refresh, calendar widget does not show any entries, mail widget does not show anything, etc etc etc.
I'm on stock 4.4.3, but rooted with SuperSU.
it did not start right after the 4.4.3 OTA, only a few days later (actually, i think on friday or saturday).
Is there a way to get into the system logs to see what is up?
...turn on auditing, maybe?
Any other suggestions that might help me? What kind of details do you need?
Hi,
It looks like someone got a possible solution. I didn't test because I don't face random reboots on my Nexus.

Hi,
It looks like the person in the other thread set it to always display on notification bar, nothing other than that... As I said I didn't test so I can't tell you how possible it is for working or anything, sorry. I just gave this solution for now, if it doesn't work then I'd have to think a bit further .

hello,
as the title says, i get these notifications all day long..
they appear for half a second and are gone before i can click on them.
the attached notification log shows that they pop up in irregular intervals, sometimes several times a minute.
i tried to disconnect and reset the watch, but the issue remains.
the problem came up just recently, but i didn't notice any updates.
any ideas what i can do?
watch: misfit vapor (fossil brand), android 8.0, wear os 1.5 (idk why it's not labled 2.something anymore, but it's definitely not the old 1.5 without playstore and so on..)
phone: sony xperia x compact, android 8.0
seems like a secomd reset made it a bit better.. now i get the notifications about 20 times a day..
what can that be? how often is normal?
could someone please check his log?
to get access you might have to enable developer options, then place a homescreen widget for settings -> notifications log
nobody?
xda isn't what it used to be...
I noticed the same. I belive it started after recent update of Google Wear.
I just installed Notification Saver app (my phone does not have notifation log option) and will revert back once I collect some information...

Yeh, it is checking a lot sometimes, sometimes not that much (6 times a day yesterday!).
But today a lot more (attached picture)!
This is not normal...
thanks for the info, so it's a google problem.
i reported it now via the feedback button in the wear os app and i suggest you do the same.
hopefully they fix this soon..

I just did - although today it had only checked twice (so far), let's see...
yesterday i had about 70 checks..
it's so annoying an i think it's also draining the battery..
how about you @armsel ? problem still present? did you hear anything from google?

Nope, noting and I don't think they will ever revert back...
I didn't use my watch the past week or so... let me see next week if the problem persists.
just updated to wear os 2.0..
still the same..
