glad to hear the quick news about flash, maybe that means froyo will be showing up this month too...
and, at y2whisper, the other thread was closed, because it was made perfectly clear that most people would like it turned off. the tapatalk notification is annoying as sin
Thats fine that they would, I opt to keep it on, only out of gratitude for the program and that about 10% of my posts are done via the program. should that percentage increase or simply just over time (unless there is some kind of upgrade) I will shut it off.
Mind you my motivation with it is that its xda specific and its how i found out about the application in the first place.

I agree it's annoying and all, but I believe that's how a lot of people know about the program. If everybody turns it off, I bet there's gonna be a bunch of thread asking what this program is. lol

You can always block people who don't disable the signature.
Admin is working with the developer to change the spam that the application places in the body of the post which is what annoys most people. They did not specify what would be done but apparently relief is on the way.
need to make it so you can assign a sig to it your self, or not at all.

But, if you reply with it, doesn't it just use the sig you already have specified in the forum?
They didnt say what they were going to do. What bothers most people is that it is amended into the body of the post and as they surf the forum they end up reading it over and over and over.... It sounded like a line break such as before the signatures to move it out of the body of the post would be a front runner. We'll see.

Just a word of advice post on the Q&A section because a lot of people are going to bash you in a few.
But try looking for the drivers of the actual Samsung official page.
Do you have the 32bit or 64bit processor?
WHY?????? Did you post in the development section? Toxic you even attempt to read any stickies or forum rules?
Reading through help guides and forum rules must be for losers, right?

Seriously this IS pushing it, but STILL dont get your e-panties in a bunch guys... exclamation point with a triangle around it, click it, forget it, move on. WDM will take care of it. Notice the post counts on these??? theres a lot of new people, who may actually donate to devs, or contribute when they figure it all out... lighten the **** up. You want to attack someone, do it in real life... dont be a *****. I have noticed that the people who know how to navigate around, and are feeling nice, will direct these people in the right direction... but regardless... WDMs job, not yours...
As you will probably read this WDM, the OP had no previous posts... its seriously a good idea to impose the 10 post minimum to post in dev, or maybe even more to start a thread... but its a good idea so that new people will not get flamed by these 'senior members' (you would think wisdom and patience would come with that).
On your phone google z4root. Enable USB debugging and Unknown Sources in Settings-->Applications. Install and run z4root. In the market, download superuser. DONE.

WDM doesn't seem to be around, I've been reporting my ass off but haven't seen any action by him on those threads since early last week.
This is really funny...half the posts here flame him for not seeing the one click root...but that's not what he asked.
I'm sure the flamers didn't actlly read the post and just the title. "Perfect opportunity to bully somebody to make up for all my years of repressed nerd rage!"
FYI, he's having trouble installing the drivers
He's NOT having trouble seeing the one click root sticky

I agree with some of you guys' sentiments...flaming is funny. Sometimes, I'll just read through a junk thread just because everybody is piling on somebody or people are going back and forth.
Anyway, here is an obvious (but possibly overlooked) troubleshooting question-
Which version of Windows 7 are you running? x86 or 64? And which driver did you install? 32-bit or 64-bit?

Good riddance... If you would actually READ threads, then maybe you would be of some use to the XDA forums. Did you even see the POST???? It is one step. One step. One step.... to read the damn post before you shoot your ignorant mouth off. People who don't read forum rules and stickies may be a big factor for the clutter on XDA, but people like you are the reason this forum is "trashed".
I usually don't help in situations like this but due to the amount of butthurt sandy vag's in this thread, Here you go...
1. Can you tell us exactly what kind of error you are getting when you try to install these drivers?
2. Where did you get the package and what is it's name?
3. When you go to the device manager in Windows 7, do you see a Samsung device listed under "modems" when you plug in the phone?
4. Like the other guy said, which version of Windows 7 are you running. 64-bit or 32.
I know for me it took several attempts to use the Clockworkmod installation due to my computer not recognizing the device. It's obvious the OP has done some form of research seeing that he is starting the first process which is getting the drivers installed.
OP where did yu go? Some of us will help you even if you posted in the wrong sum forum.
The samsung drivers kinda suck, so the frist thing to do if your having problems with the phone not connecting to windows is to
A) try a usb port on the motherboard (back of pc)
B) try a difernt usb cable

Throwing a ****load of roms (that are required to change their title already when updated) in one thread is gonna lead to alot of headaches unless you break down specifically the requirements of each one. I can see it now..."oh wow, I just bought this and look at all these roms. There should be a quiz that pops up asking you a series of questions about what you're about to do. Like a fail noob proof capcha. If you fail...a note pops up and says "read some more dumbass!"

lmao wow by far one of the best ideas I have seen here in the forums.
not that i don't entirely agree with some of the sentiments of the more senior members, but i was a complete noob w/ my 1st smartphone not too long ago so I can see how someone coming into this now after all of the DL09/EB01/EB16 releases can be overwhelmed...
so here's a link to a thread on android central with exactly what you are looking for
http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...ks-roms-themes-kernels-updated-3-17-11-a.html
... a LOT friendlier with a handful of senior members that seem to be on always to walk noobs through
you won't get as many comments that, although may be true and one should take note of, doesn't contribute at all to what you asked.
Again, everyone is entitled to their opinions on a forum, so I'm not making any attacks toward anyone, but I feel like you know when your comment doesn't help the OP and only helps you feel better about walking into a post that annoys you... and maybe consider that there are people of all different ages and lives that may not allow for hours upon hours of catch up reading

While I agree that if such a form existed... at the end of the day it most really be useless.
People will still have the same questions about this and that rom, and term, and version of phone.. etc... and if you combine ALL those answers into one form, well I would maybe make it too the third or fourth page before I give up and move on. Like a lot of forums now, some are a thousand pages.
I'm sure many people will agree the next scenario, which I find myself in a fair bit. You just soft soft bricked your phone, or something new is released... 20 min later you're sitting down with 5 or 6 browser windows open, each one has 20 tabs, and you have 30 new bookmarks made just case there something you might need later from one those pages.
lol... i tell you guys, its awful messy sometimes.. Especially when a friend gives me a phone he bricked and I've never used the phone before.

Wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to unlock OEM for the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G model G988U1 (z3q) and flash a custom ROM to it. I'm aware that certain models don't allow this and I'm hesitant to test it out from the posts that I've seen describing how to do it. I saw the same thing for my model of the Note 9 and soon after found out that it's not possible for my model of it. If anyone can confirm whether or not I can and provide a link to a thread that includes the sources to what I need or links directly to the things I need it'd be much appreciated.

You didn't steal my thunder at all. I was amazed at how this shot out across the entire internet. 700+ downloads since 3july11. it just shot out of nowhere and on every Android website out there. I posted in the Captivate dev section... I wouldn't want to create multiple threads, also I wouldn't want to put it in the "general" section as it's specific to Samsung devices.
OneClick unbrick is "successful" but still have Black Screen
I have spent countless hours over the last three days trying to unbrick my Samsung Vibrant (I think the reason that it bricked that few days ago I rooted it, added Voodoo, then tried upgrading to Froyo; I think that I should have first removed Voodoo before upgrading to Froyo?).
In any case, after reading through many posts, I have tried two methods to debrick the device, both of which report "success", but NEITHER of them has actually fixed the problem: after the phone boots up and the samsung "S" sign appears for a minute, then my screen remains black, except for the lights which are on at the bottom of the phone.
Specifically, method #1 that I've tried is using Odin3 in order to flash a .pit file (i've tried s1_odin_20100512 as well as s1_odin_20100803 and s1_odin_20100513) along with the PDA file (T959UVJFD).
Method #2 that I've tried is using OneClick Debrick.
Both of these report success. But my phone is still stuck with the black screen!
Can anyone please help?? I am close to giving up and buying an iphone.
Do a search for flashing Eugene's froyo that does not brick. There should be a post with a walk through explaining how to recover from a bad flash when voodoo wasn't disabled.

And thanks for all the sarcastic remarks
i did look to see if it had already been posted, Guess im not as expert as some at finding the results.
While I agree there are some posts that are easy to see and so when others repost it can be WTF time.
There are other times they dont stand out or pop up in a search and so some are done by accident.
The one thing that makes me laugh is how some people respond, its not often the case of "already a post, end this thread please" its more often some people who start with "I am God and know all there is to know, you on the other hand dont know how to search the net and find everything in 00000000.1 of a second"
Just makes me wonder if these same people have mates who come up to them and say things like.
"Hi Bob, see the game last night, 3.2 to England"
"Oh really, good game then"
Then a few mins later another mate turns up.
"Hello Bob, see England won 3.2 last night"
"Hey! Hey! I have already been told this, you should have checked with me first to see if I knew the news already, would you kindly remove your comment and in the future you need to check that I have not heard any news you are about to tell me.....ya noob"
