Hi you all, my problem its the following:
I was looking for disable my camera's sound and i found this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13903103&postcount=33, so i decided to try it.
I started by going to /system/media/audio/ui and clear the shutter.ogg and every .ogg file with "camera" in its name(except for camera_click_chort.ogg).
And i followed with the /system/app/Camera.apk/res/raw/ files. I couldnt delete them with Root Explorer, so i tried with Astro and i achieved it(I erased both autofocus_error.ogg and autofocus_ok.ogg and let only camera_timer.ogg).
After all this, i rebooted and when i tried to go to the camera launcher it said to me it wasnt installed(this its true, at the menu it wasnt with the rest of the apps and titanium backup had it as deleted).
So i tried to restore the camera backup from titanium backup and my backup, but they didnt work it out. I also tried to install it again(Camera.apk), but it after the process it said "Aplication not installed"
I have installed some camera apps(such as Camera ZOOM FX and Vignette and took pictures without problems, but when i switch to video recording mode on either of them, its takes me out(Camera ZOOM FX) or just stays loading(Vignette)...
So thats it. I would really like to have the default camera app, mainly to be able to record videos again...
Thank you in advance.
Could someone please at least post all those files i delete. I guess thats my last hope before i restore the nandroid backup(even though i dont know if that will work...)
Reflash your villainrom 1.4? simple.. it's non destructive anyway....
Thanks for answering (you have been the only one, as you can see xD), but i just restored my last nandroid backup and it worked...what a relief...=)

So, I'm doing some tweaks with the gallery apk but, after changing the package name and some pictures, when I try to install it, it says "application not installed"
I have no clue whats going on.
Two days ago i had the same problem with the camera apk. I achieved the files i deleted and restore them but it didnt work. The only solution left was, at least i thought that, to restore my last nandroid backup. Some apps were there but i easily restore them with Titanium and the best of all, camera apk problem was solve! xD
So if you cant find any other solution, try to do that.
So,
now that the first usable ROMs for X8 pop up i am wondering: what is the easiest way to import all your settings to a new ROM?
i am thinking of Apps, App-Settings, Sync-Settings (gmail, Roadsync..), SMS, Mails etc etc...
Restoring/Setting this up manually after every installation of a new ROM takes some time.
What is your trick for the lazy people?
How much can be backed up with Titanium Backup? I'm still not sure about this.
What other Apps can you recommend?
update: found a solution at lifehacker today.
Non of them will work when going from ROM to ROM. When you go to a new ROM, you should backup the previous one so you can go back to the default when there is a problems with the Custom ROM.
Basically, you can't transfer apps or anything from one ROM to another. You will have to manually install them yourself, take a list of them and download/install again. I wish it could work but it cant ):
Too bad.
Ok, I cant backup apps this way.
Is there a way or script to automatically install apps (apks) from a folder on sdcard?
Maybe I could use AppBrain to sync apps.
But how about System Settings, Accounts...
Hm, actually come to think of it .. If your phone is rooted (obviously is lol) you can go to Root Explorer or any root application manager, go to System>App and if you can transfer them to your SD card, I use Root Explorer, just select all and zip them, then transfer to SD card .. All the .apk's will be in the zip file. I suppose just install one by one
As for system settings, accounts etc. those can't be backed up .. You'll just have to be updated manually :L Don't be lazy haha
just found this tip from lifehacker using titanium backup. looks pretty convinient.
if someone tries this, please report if you have success.

Use this, for me it's the best way.
Titanium backup can store all your current apps and data settings for theseapps, too.
After flashing your new ROM, install Titanium backup and restore your backuped apps. Works fine.
I have the sgs4(verizon)i'm using safestrap with hyperdrive rom 4.4.2.After rom install i restored my titanium backup and i had two galleries,so i uninstalled one.The one i uninstalled was the one that came with my phone.I tried to go back to titanium and restore, but it doesn't work it says restoring, but never actually does.I can go into the titanium backup folder and get apk,but when i install it says failed.I also tried to use root explorer to mount in system/app.I know ther'e is better pic apps, but i like to be able to use some of the features in that gallery.
Also is there anyone who can let me know as far as apps like gallery and camera and so on...what's the newest versions of apps i can get to put on my sgs4.Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Hello,
This has been a problem ever since I used my backup, and everything restored fine along with this bug. It is REALLY irritating and it affects apps.
In Kik....
I can't change my profile picture.
I can't save pictures.
In Snapchat (I'm wondering too if this is the app)
I cant save pictures.
I can't look at stories and it freezes trying
To take a pic/video (however, That's a app problem)
And for a app I use for album covers, they don't show as downloaded and it gives me a error.
And every picture editor I use won't save pictures after they've been said to have been downloaded.
However, downloading pics from the internet and screenshot works fine.
I have no clue how to fix this and I'm begging for someone to help. It is REALLY annoying.
I've tried deleting stuff and moving things to my SD card as well.
If you can help me, please inform me. I want to fix this asap.
You didn't describe in detail how you made or restored your backup which is unfortunate. It prevents us from drawing conclusions or discerning with any reasonable certainty what has happened.
At a guess, you may have a corrupt system cache. Boot to recovery mode and choose wipe system partition. That has a reasonable chance of resolving your issue. Failing that, then go to the application manager in the settings menu and clear cache and data for any specific apps that you are having trouble with.
If your problems persist (which is unlikely), the most probable explanation would be a corrupt backup or restore.. so consider restoring your backup again in that case.
.
I accidentaly uninstalled the stock camera app and then i installed a new one for fix this, but the photos are not as good as the photos taken with the stock camera. Why this happens and what can i do for fix it?
P.D: sorry for my bad english

Try installing this app - it's original camera app in APK file:
http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=66821883661890276096
After installed - you can uninstall the other one.
If it doesn't work, then try this:
Download all three (!) files to your phone:
First: http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=96201562856681751049
Second: http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=68142996515295322148
Third: http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=03803523533648129006
By default they will download to 'Download' folder in your phone.
- Now go to Google Play store and install Titanium Backup Free app from there.
- Open Titanium and find an option insdie it to Import Backup. Point it to the 3 files ('Dwonload' folder) while you have them in your phone and do the import.
- Then tell Titanium to do the Restore Backup and Camera will be restored to original file location. While done - uninstall the other camera app and start using the original one.
