Magldr and radio issue when flashing (BRICKED) - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I tried to flash my HTC HD2 executing Task 29. I don't know if it worked, because I was getting the boot screen of my custom rom and not the white htc one. Then I installed HSPL 2.08 as I was using a different one. Since this the phone doesn't want to boot anything, even the color screen. I don't know what radio I am using. Please someone tell me that this can be fixed.
P.S. I also think I can't charge it with the charger.
P.S.2 I don't know if it is relevent but while I was using the WinMo rom I was getting almost constant crashes which didn't recover with just restarting, but needed some time and it randomly got working again.

I think it is bricked as it doesn't respond to anything

Hi,
Can you get it into bootloader?
Power on ,hold the volume button down>tri-color screen.

No. That's why I am so worried. It crashed while flashing the radio and it hasn't been on since then.

Oh,
Interrupting or stopping the flashing of the radio can be fatal.
Sorry.

So it can never be fixed? Even by e specialist with those serial port boxes?

[Solved] Task 29 bricked my phone! Help!

Hey guys,
Well i had 2.08hspl on my phone with a 2.10._50 radio (something like that) and i ran task 29 to clean up my phone for a chunky rom.
After i ran the task29 utility, everything went to 100%, but i missed hittin the volume key in time. So i took out my battery and put it back in. Now i cant get the device to power up whatsoever.
Am i screwed?
Hi Jhonka
Can you get into bootloader mode? I have doen Task29 many times, and no issues, even if i miss the volume key. Try pressing the volume key down and hitting the power button for a moment before letting it go. Should get you into bootloader, and usb mode once you connect to the PC thru USB.
no i can't even get into the bootloader
may be not enough battery power

your problem might be "not enough battery power"
charge your phone for a while and press power button by while pressing volume down.
hope it works.

what is the specific type/model of your phone?
battery might be low as mentioned by another user above.
take out the battery and press volume down and power-on to get into bootloader. connect yr device via usb and flash the ROM.
are u sure yr battery is not empty?
on the second thought, maybe the task29 was run without radio ROM?
sounds like it was run using a ..51.. radio on a tmous.

so is it beyond help? wow, bummer
about naming convention, does TMOUS-compatible, TMOUS-support ROMs mean it's a TMOUS ROM?

yes if it says tmous ok or tmous compatible or whatever then it means that that rom is based on version 2.x official tmous rom so it will work on tmous.
as for the op, if he did use a ..51.. radio then yes its unrecoverable.
but there are one or two posts with black screen, phone not booting, that aren't caused by this, but not many.
@op try the battery out for an hour and then try again.
thanks for all the responses guys.
I finally got it to work, i took the battery out for 30 minutes and held down the power button. (which i hear drains the rest of the charge in the phone)
turned it on, freaked out with joy then installed my new rom.

if you can go to the bootloader, then put the radio into your sd card and change the name accordingly.
then flash from boot loader.
am i right?

Hi
Recommmended way of flashing is for the HD2 is from your pc not from microsd. Put the device in the bootloader and connect the usb and flash the radio or rom from the pc. This is the way is more safe.
Good luck

lol, still no hard facts,,,, by model i meant is it a tmous(green send key, red end key, says t mobile under earpiece) or a regular hd2(all keys white)?
what's the last thing you did? did you flash something? (full filename please)
it rather sounds like you have a tmous and have flashed the wrong radio and bricked it, but without any facts thats just a wild guess. that or bent battery pin.

That means then that you have a tmous phone, and it sounds like you have flashed an incompatible radio, which has killed (no fix) your phone. However, we cant be 100% sure of that till you give us teh full name of teh last rom/radio you flashed.
(had you answered that in post 8, you would have had 4 hours to cry by now, and would be feeling slightly better, sadly i fear the despair is yet to hit )

[Q] T-Mobile HD2 Died

Plz help .... installed a wrong ROM for HTC HD2 on my T-Mobile HD2, now it stopped responding totally, no power, boatloader not showing, the orange led not working when connecting the charger.
Is there anyway i can fix that?
Thanks
Can you provide a link to the Rom?

When you plug in the USB connector to the phone and computer and turn the phone on, does it power on?
If it does, then get into boot loader then flash an official tmo rom.

all signs that you flashed a rom containing a ..51.. radio.
options
1 - JTAG it. (expensive, tricky)
2 - warranty repair (dont mention flashing)
3 - paid repair (around $140 i believe)

Your options are in post 4. But like I previously stated, explaining your device version, ROM, SPL and flash method helps a little more to understand what type of brick it is.

if you are running a custom rom that might happen...it doesn´t affect the phone. It has to be with the framework-res.apk. Don´t worry about that....trying to fix that u might mess something else more important..

You need to give us more info. Are you Rooted? What Rom are you using?
Try updates? If you aren't rooted I would send the phone back to whoever

The problem may not be as serious as a broken hardware. You can probably just restore everything to default or perform a factory reset and try out the phone without installing additional app for a period of time to see if the problem persist...

You should try to put in a freezer(in a plastic bag, without battery) for 15-20 minutes and then try to flash your wm ROM and see what happens...

It looks like that to me!
Have you tried not using the latest HTC ROM but the previous version. Could be a bug in the ROM or possibly bad blocks causing a problem. I would suggest a task 29 wipe before installing the ROM. Can be found easily in the forum. I had a similar problem that fixed it for me. On android now though.
Maybe increase the cache partition and the ROM partition to allow for possible bad blocks that can cause problems especially in nand. Usually allowing an extra 5mb on each partition should do it. If you dont know how find the hd2 toolkit as that will be the easiest way. All on the forum. Hope this helps

Putting in the original romantic should fix this.. Just sounds like the partitions are not big enough or the ROMS could have issues. When installing the original rom it should clear the whole phone and boot up fine. Might take a while on first boot.

Are you sure it was a Vodafone HD2? Does it have a red end/power button and a green call button? If it does then that is a TMOUS that does not have the T-Mobile logo on it for some reason and you have radio bricked the device. The fact that you can not boot into bootloader means you are bricked period even if it is not a TMOUS HD2. Now the only fix for your device is to have it JTAGed or a new PCB board put in the device. Now if you can not find someone locally or in your region of the worl that can JTAG your device PM me and I can refer you to someone that can and is very good at it.
i live in the netherlands si it's very hard for me to find someone that can perform a jtag
Same problem for me
I have exactly the same problem.. :crying:
Try this just for grins.
Take out the battery and MAKE SURE all of the pins on the back of the device are hitting the battery where they are supposed to and not bent or anything.
I don't see how doing a task29 and changing the SPL would brick the phone if it DID brick,it should have done it after the ROM or Radio flash.
If you did things in this order ROM -> reboot -> task29 -> reboot -> SPL, then you should still be able to access bootloader.
Not sure why you'd flash a ROM then task29 though.
Anyways, if you flashed the wrong ROM from SD then yeah, you are bricked (if that was the last thing you did) but try the battery thing.
