accidentally deleted ClockPackage - Galaxy S II General

Did a stupid thing by mistake
I accidentally deleted the ClockPackage.apk and odex...
Any idea how I can restore them... ?
I have downloaded the clockpackage.apk and put it there, gave it the correct permissions, but when I try to install it, I get "Application not installed".
Any idea what can I do?
Thanks

bumping this thread, this really bugs the hell of me...

No expert on this kind of thing...
Have you put the apk in system/app/
Have you given the correct permission and run the apk to reinstall? Rebooting after?
Have you got the odex file too? If it's there try renaming it to .old or something are try rerunning the apk.
What rom / version you on?
Just thinking out loud here. Sorry if not much help.

[Q] Stumped with Stupid Swype

So, today i tried to update swype to the latest beta by just downloading through the website, and of course it came up with an error.. I knew it was going to happen, since swype is already installed, and is locked unless you are rooted..
So i rooted, and i made the stupid mistake of deleting the app using Titanium Backup (backed it up first using the program), and removing libSwypecore.so from system/lib (backed that one up by copy and pasting to flash card)...
Now everything i try doing winds up with a FC... The "Update to newer version of Swype - Here ya go.." thread didn't seem to help...
May some generous being please send me their swype.apk from system, or could they tell me what i have to do to get the latest beta to work? That would be very muchly appreciated
If you can provide where the apk is, I would be more than happy to pull it and upload it for you.
Yes, i can It is in /system/app pretty sure it is called swype.apk
Thank you so much dfgged, especially for the promptness!
Well, lol, I found and uploaded it a minute before I saw your post!
Here is the link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PUM15QCO
And it was no trouble!
oh, haha.. Well, thanks again!
Sweet, it worked! haha..
edit:
If anyone wants to know how to install the latest beta from the swype website, just follow these steps:
1) BACKUP Swype.apk from /system/app (lol ) and libSwypecore.so from /system/lib/ and libSwypecore.so from /system/lib/SCH-i400
2) Delete all of those
3)Download the installer from your phone, and run it.. From there, you are set
I guess my phone just didn't like it that i didn't like libSwypecore.so from the SCH-i400 folder..

[Q] Accidentally removed DownloadProvider.apk

Hi All,
I have a rooted european TPT and I did something really dumb today: I nuked DownloadProvider.apk, thus killing any download functionality.
I downloaded the OTA update roms and had a look in there but they only have patches for the APK and not the file itself. I have been unable to find a full ROM image to use either, one linked from here was on Megaupload so that's gone.
May I beg someone to send me this APK please or point me to where I can find an image of the original ROM? Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Hi
I have the same problem. Deleted the downloadprovider and I guess also the downloadprovider.UI.
I'm on 2.3.4 root. Build nr: 4.0.2.A.0.42.
What to do with the other file in the zip apart from the .apk and how to set the permissions when moving the .apk to the system/app folder?
thanks

The other file is the odex just copy it in /system/app like the apk. The files need the permission 644. You can set them i.e. with Terminal Emualtor or with adb:
Code:
su
busybox mount -o rw,remount /system
chmod 644 /system/app/DownloadProvider.*
Unfortunately I did the same mistake like baz8080 .
Can you please help me with DownloadProvider for A310_02_0039_0089_WE?
I still have the apk and restored it to /system/app but the odex is missing and I'm still not able to download anything
Thanks in advance
Anybody?
I found DownloadProvider.apk + odex from 0076_WE
Is there any way to apply the patches from the update (0086_WE and 0089_WE) manually just on these two files?
Edit:
Solved it!

Things To Do
You must have root access to your phone
1. copy and paste "Download Provider ui" folder to /system/apps of your root folder.
2. copy and paste "Download Provider" folder to /system/priv-app of your root folder.
3. give permission like other apps in the folder and install both apk inside each folder with your root explorer with root installer package i used "fx file explorer pro".
4. Done restart your mobile.
5. you need to have google play store updated and google play services updated to latest version

[Q] Problem With Package Installer

I am having a problem with the package installer on my Nexus 7. (Wi-Fi, 32 GB) I think I may have done something to it accidentally while browsing through the system files. I did click to install the installer itself out of curiosity, though, but I don't know if that could have any adverse effects on anything. I cannot install any apps, whether they're from the Play Store or an APK through a file explorer. I get error 406 when I try to download anything from the Play Store. (Except when I tried to update ES File Explorer. That worked fine... Every other app that I've tried will not update/ download.) When I try to install an APK, I get a message like, "There is no program to open this file." I had just rooted my Nexus after having it for nearly a year with the Motochopper root exploit, so the bootloader is still locked. I could still install apps, though, until after my first reboot. Could anybody identify the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
you might have removed packageinstaller.apk thats in the system. you can fix it by getting the correct packageinstaller.apk from the interent and move it to the correct /system/app path and apply CORRECT permissions for it

It's still there. I think installing it with itself out of curiosity is what messed it up. It now shows up in the installed apps menu in Settings.

Change its permissions to the same as the other apps in the same folder should fix it

It doesn't seem that I am able to change permissions. I'm just going to back everything up and either flash a stock rom or another good rom. Thank you very much for your help anyways.
Same problem..
What do you mean about "changing permissions"? If you mean to change the file properties to -rw-r-r- then that didn't worked for me .. pls help!

Thank you, you awesome person. I am really a newbie to flashing and rooting, could you please explain what should i do with it? Do i flash the zip with twrp or extract it somewhere? I tried installing some generic livewalpaperpicker.apk found somewhere on the xda and obviously it didnt work. Also is there a way to download the zip from your google drive, because for some unknown reason my phone wants to add it as a dictionary? (If no solution i'll just download it via pc). I will be fullheartedly thankfull for instructions.

I'm not sure why it's giving you a hard time downloading the zip. Are you using the Google Drive app or Chrome from your phone?
Extract the zip and copy the folder to /system/app/ using a root file manager. I should ask though, is your system stock? What version/build number? This includes the stock .apk and .odex file.

It's a rooted, stock 6.0.1 rom, with xposed framework and a bunch of modules including N-ify, If i am correct of what a build is then my build is "24.221.5.clark_reteu.en.EU reteu".
Edit:
I tried to do everything as instructed and it didn't help. And what is curious i found out that i actually already had this folder in my system/apps. I switched it with the new one, reboot and unfortunately still when i try to set any live walpaper it says "aplication is not installed". I guess i won't be able to try pixelwalpapers anytime soon.
