i dont recall seeing a guide to be honest.
Any questions then im sure that XDA can help
There's no start-up guide, as with all stock Honeycomb tablets.
Mine didn't came with one. But with the manual available on Asus page and a guide for honeycomb that I found on google I'm on my way.
Regards.

When i looked through the system dump the faceunlock.apk was there so i would assume you can access it. should be in settings under security and i believe you have to have a pin set up before you can use face unlock

You would assume wrong. I refer you to the lmgtfy link; pretty much the first post has confirmation that even though the apk is there, it won't do anything, and nor has copying it over from another device worked. Asus has disabled it for whatever reason.

Given that they apparently haven't come up with a workaround for the Prime yet, I rather doubt it...

That seems more likely, but until somebody tries it, we don't know if Asus disabled it for a good reason.
Maybe it's relevant to the issue, but I have a Nexus S on stock ICS, and the Face Unlock feature isn't available as well.
Maybe it's only available to the Galaxy Nexus as of right now.
I have it on my Galaxy Nexus and it is kind of fun to show off but not that great unless you are always sitting in a well lit area. Not worried about it at all.
I am trying to see about getting the acer ring to work on the transformer....bought an a200 for the gf and i am slightly jealous...any help would be appreciated...downloaded a few roms....i can't recognize the files...

Wrong forum -- most of us probably don't even have access to the Transformer, let alone any in-depth knowledge about it.

If you are on ICS, well, PM me.
I am talking about the acer ring apk that acts like an app drawer when you tap the circle....I know there's an apk involved and tie in with the launcher, but I can't find a dump with the same apk and haven't had time with the gf to pull her backup yet....What I am looking for is from an acer product....I have a transformer, I have knowledge of what I want to do ,just can't seem to find it....

You can enable it on the ICS Leak by modifying build.prop - ICS Root does this for you if you tell it to do so (forum.tegraowners.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=350) but on other versions I suggest you do it manually. The three lines to add to build.prop are:
acer.shell.mode=ENABLED
acer.shell.launcher.mode=ANDROID
acer.shell.contacts.mode=ENABLED

And your framework-res and SystemUI needs to support it just installing the APK is not enough.
Hello, can't find an answer for this problem. Can anyone help. I have a lot of problems with ICS on Toshiba Thrive, can someone give me a tutorial how to go back to Honeycomb. I searched everywhere, but can't find nothing useful.

I could use some help as well. I just want to be able to root and install the new CM10 Rom that is out there. The OTA ICS update has made my tablet almost unusable. Anything you can do will be appreciated.

If you know where the development is for that cm10 ROM then look there for your answer. As it goes off xda I won't mention it here.

Because the tools involved are dangerous and cause permanent damage to the emmc, the method isn't especially difficult, but the tools are just to dangerous to let loose.
So a guide can be done up, but without the tools available to everyone its kind of pointless lol

Apparently over at the TF700 forum, users are able to downgrade from JB to ICS without unlocking the bootloader
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1925230
So far I haven't been able to do it...only able to get from 10.4.2.18 to 10.4.2.9. Anytime I want to flash a ICS from it'll say signature mismatch....I hope someone can find the right sequence for downgrade.
there is no way going back to ICS. Even with unlocking.

well you are wrong. i'm in ICS rom now. from JB and is not unlocked.

It's extremely useful if it really worked. Could allow rooting without unlocking and also if you really were able to downgrade the bootloader to an ICS one, NVFlash files could be generated.
Were you able to do it? If so, please post how.

You need to be unlocked to install a custom ROM. If the unlock tool is not working due presumably to a MAC issue, some have suggested contacting ASUS and telling them you are not able to get OTA updates due to the MAC being flashed improperly, and to avoid any mention of unlocking/rooting/etc. They might issue an RMA then.
But, could you please indicate how you did this? So far you have not provided any details.
i'll provide details when i'm ready to. i'm on the road and would like to use my laptop to type cuz of the formatting. do you know how to spoof the mac address? i tried using terminal+busybox but it's not working.

No, in reading various posts across the ASUS devices, the 3 scenarios that seemed to yield successful results were: 1) registering the serial # and waiting a few days, 2) having the unit RMAed to reflash the MAC, or 3) obtaining a new unit through a retail exchange.
well then, i hope someone figure out how to change the MAC address for many people's sake who can't unlock and don't want to go through the trouble to RMA/return/rebuy.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using xda app-developers app
nvm i was able to spoof the mac address...but that didn't fool the unlocker. stupid asus...looks like i still need to RMA it to get this thing fixed. -__-
