Install Google APIs package in Android SDK and AVD Manager. It's in Third party Add-ons branch. Then use it as a target platform of your project.

Use DDMS or "telnet localhost 5554".

I installed gmail java app and when I launch it via java, i get a java lang error msg. Anyone got the same issues?
If I'm correct there was a solution for this on the forum. But anyways. You need to use an older version of Java application. You can get it here.
Hi
I have purchased an app named GeOrg that is used for geocaching. I cannot find this in the market in the Eclair AOSP ROM. I would really like to use this plain Android 2.0 ROM instead of Hero 2.1.
But I have the .apk file from MyBackup pro and it installes perfectly in Lox_devs/behnaam's Hero 2.1 ROM, but in the Eclair ROM I get this:
E:\sdk\tools>adb install apps\de.ranitos.georg.apk
1176 KB/s (558773 bytes in 0.463s)
pkg: /data/local/tmp/de.ranitos.georg.apk
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_MISSING_SHARED_LIBRARY]

The logcat says the missing library is com.google.android.maps. I have pulled /system/etc/permissions/com.google.android.maps.xml and /system/framework/com.google.android.maps.jar from Hero 2.1 and put them in the same place on Eclair AOSP. But it still gives the same error message.
I have tried installing Google maps via "adb push", "adb install" and Market with the same results for everything.
Can someone please point me in the right direction of how to get the Google maps shared library installed on my phone?
did you get anywhere with this mate?
If this app is not visible in market on eclair that means this app needs newest android.

I have the same problem with my N1 - can't install Twitter and AutomateIt.
I think it happened after installing the "navigation" version of Map..
Has anybody come up with a solution?
Thanks.
What library does the logcat say your missing?
If its the google maps library, you can try to push the google apps for example from the cyanogenmod site. Not sure exactly which version, try a few until you find one which works....
Thanks for your reply. This is what the logcat shows:
PackageManager( 323): Scanning package AutomateIt.mainPackage
PackageManager( 323): Package AutomateIt.mainPackage requires unavailable shared library com.google.android.maps; failing!
PackageManager( 323): Package couldn't be installed in /data/app/AutomateIt.mainPackage-2.apk

It sounds like you don't have google apps installed, at least no properly. Do you have google maps installed and working? I would suggest trying to install the update from CyanogenMod relevant for the android version you are running (only the google apps update).

Hello,
one of the biggest problems in bada app development is the lack of simple mechanisms to install apps to the handsets of beta-testers. There is a way to do this when the tester has installed the bada SDK on his pc, but i always thought it should be possible without it.
This is why i started to examine what the SDK does when you're running an app on the target device, and begun to recreate this mechanism. What i have now is a tool that installs in-development app on a handset. The tester only has to install the root certificate from the SDK on his phone, no need to download and install the whole SDK anymore.
Any interested app developer can contact me to get a copy of the tool for his own app for free! For security reasons, the tool has a hard-coded list of known apps that it can install, so there is no reason to offer it as direct download here.
The tool offers the possibility to restrict installation to handsets with certain IMEIS, as well as an expiration date after which the app can't be installed anymore.

are you using some different method than broker.exe?? i have been using this exe file from sdk to distribute application for my clients.
No, what i ahve done is to watch what broker.exe does, and to rebuild that in my tool.
hello, I update my M.O.J.O to CM12 and install Market Helper, when i choose Nvidia Shield in the tablets option and I apply , the program is closed in step 1,.

then as i can play a portal or halflife ?
You can install Android X86 on a virtual machine, use Market Helper on that system and buy and install the games you like. Then you can copy the appropriate APK and OBB files over to your PC and afterwards to your M.O.J.O.
and it does not detect that there is a shield ?
The games themselves usually don't care about the device's name they are running on as long as the required Android version and hardware specs are met.

The closest you'll get with Phoenix is getting the ISO which can be found in the first post the above link sends you to. They don't have a github afaik.
If you want to build your own Android x86, try here -- http://www.android-x86.org/getsourcecode

how to root 2.03 and install google apps:
-assuming you did a normal install first
-install RMXtools 1.6 + 1.8 fix on windows...
-run RMXtools and extract system.img, root64, rebuild system image same size, now you have a new system rooted then you just need to replace your original system image with this one.
-boot phoenix, supersu should be visible now but you need to update it first with latest beta from xda, then you can update the binary file.
-go to apkmirror and download Google playstore, latest playservices 10.5.55-480, service framework 7.1, Account Manager, One Time Init, Partner Setup.
-install lucky patcher, grant root access, click on rebuild&install, sdcard/download, click on playstore.apk, install as System app, don't reboot yet, do the same for service framework, account manager,OTI, Partner setup, then install play services as a normal app, now you can reboot.
-go to settings / apps, check the permissions for all the apps you just installed (show system)
-go to settings / autorun check to enable play services if it shows
-reboot again and log in, enjoy!!!
