[Q] default vs compatibility mode - Galaxy S I9000 General

Gingergread 2.3.4 miui (latest)ROM installed.
After long pressed home botton, then App Manager, "click" on any one app, at the bottom there's a Compatibility mode, which you can switch between Default mode and Compatibility mode. What are their functions? When I switch from default to compatibility mode, the app will short of turn off. Can someone help with this?

Help With Start Menu Grid and Vibrate Mode

Hello, I tried doing some searches for these, but could use a little help. I'm looking for a fix for my stock ROM to arrange my start menu icons to a rectangular grid instead of the default staggered layout. Sort of like the Android app launcher or iPhone layout. I know about c00kie's home tab, but I'm not interested in all the functionality it provides, just a regedit or cab I can install to rearrange my icons in start menu.
My second issue is with the Vibrate profile. Whenver I listen to music through my headphones while on vibrate mode, the system volume auto switches the vibrate mode off, which is fine. But when I disconnect my headphones, I would like for it to switch back to vibrate mode automatically because sometimes I forget. What makes it worse is that it defaults to silent mode after, so I can't hear if someone calls me. Is there a solution to this? Or maybe a cab that separates ring/system volume settings from media playback volume settings? I like how my old MyTouch can keep the vibrate profile the same even while listening to music.
google awesome start cab
that will arrange your icons in a list format
as for a profiler I rarely use them =/

[Q] disable certain hardware buttons to wake screen

is there an app to do this? id like to set it so that only one button or possibly the volume button can wake the screen instead of all the buttons
Yeah especially when the power button can wake the phone...and turn it off ! From the lockscreen! Atleast on typhoons build
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
there is an app in the market that allows you to set all hardware buttons to actions... specifically for me it allows me to use the volume rocker to lock and also wake the device.
Sorry but i cant place the link but the app is free in android market and is called
'Button Remapper'
when you set the actions just tap apply and the device will automatically hot boot and is all reversible should you want to go back to original config
Yeah, but before try out button remapper I highly recommended a backup of your system. I install it last month and it work. But than, after a normal reboot, all hardware buttons doesn't work anymore. No chance to make it work again even not with the default settings in button remapper.

Flight mode missing from quick menu

Flight mode has disappeared from the quick menu (the one that you pull down from the top of the screen) on my phone. It used to be there before, there used to be 10 settings so I had to toggle between pages to see all of them but now there are only 8 settings and flight mode is gone. I can only use flight mode by going into settings and switching it on from there. I use flight mode every day so I don't know why it's disappeared.
Also, portrait mode is now constantly displayed in the status bar at the top of the phone when it wasn't there before.
Is there a way I can put flight mode back on the quick menu and take the portrait mode icon off the status bar?
Thanks.
