If I have purchased an app for my phone which I believe is honeycomb compatable, do I have to repurchase it for my tab? Not sure if the initial purchase allows me to sync with other devices or if I can connect my phone to my laptop and somehow extract the file or soething... Thanks for the help as always!

i could install the purchased app (for my mobile) on my tablet via the market. no problems at all.
You can redownload that app to all your devices as long as they're using the same gmail account.
The only time this may be an issue is if the developer decides to release a Tablet-specific version of the software, at which point it's a separate program that you would have to purchase. For example - you purchase Fruit Ninja - you can download and install Fruit Ninja on your phone and tablets. You notice that Fruit Ninja THD is available (Tegra HD), you will have to purchase that separately since it's officially a different program than Fruit Ninja.
Nope, never had to repurchase. Once you've attached your Google account to the device you should be able to hop into the "my apps" section of the Market on your tab. There are two sections in the scrollable menu to the left, installed and not installed. In the Not Installed section you should see every app purchase made on your Google account (Well, at least the ones you haven't installed yet). If it shows up there, it's HC compatible. If not, well just downloaded it onto your phone, pull a .apk off, then sideload it onto your GT.
hmmm so I have this repliGO pdf reader, and it's installed and working perfectly, but it keeps showing in the "not installed" section. What should I do?

You should be able to just select "install" on it. I have repliGO installed on both Evo and 10.1, with no problems. By the way, it works quite well on the tablet!

Exactly! It works perfectly, but I still have it under the "not installed" apps. If I click on "install" it does some fiddling and then it stays there. I cannot uninstall either.

Have not had any success in connecting to gameloft. Each time it tells me no games available. I believe others have been able to purchase games. I have a US At&t tab. Is this not supported yet or am i doing something wrong?

I got Asphalt HD, Sandstorm, Dungeon Hunter, Hero of Sparta and Gangstar from gameloft.com not the market on my Sprint Galaxy tab--have no idea.
The reason there aren't any apps available from the gameloft website for download on the AT&T tab is because AT&T doesn't allow sideloading of apps that aren't from the android market. Therefore gameloft doesn't have a section for the ATT galaxy tab because it would be misleading to their customers.
I haven't tried downloading the version for the T-Mobile tab, but I suspect it would work since the hardware on those tabs is almost exactly the same. To sideload apps, I have read about a program called "sideload wonder machine" that is supposed to let you put non market apps onto ATT devices, however I have not tried this either.
Sorry I couldn't have been of more help.

Well that stinks. Any way to get around that? Tried SuperOneClick as it has an option to enable non-market apps but that doesn't seem to help.
I've read about Sideload Wonder machine, problem is you have to have the program you want to load. In this case, I can't even get to Gameloft to get a copy of the game, so I have nothing to load. Stinks!

Are you trying to download the gameloft app from your tab or your computer? Because you should be able to purchase the game from gameloft.com and then use the sideload wonder machine app on your computer to transfer the game onto your tab.
I was trying to purchase directly from the Tab as I thought that was the only way you could buy them. Last night I did discover that you can indeed buy them from your desktop, however it asks you what carrier your on??? I was going to try it but backed out. Could there be a chance the game is coded for a specific model and won't work on my ATT tab? I guess I could try as it's only $5 but just wanted to be sure it would work.
I guess it is possible that gameloft specially coded the game for each tab, but I kind of doubt it. In the case with Apple products (I know it isn't the exact same case, but still similar) one game file (.ipa) will work with an iPhone 4 or an iPod Touch 2nd generation. Considering how similar the hardware and software is between the AT&T and T-Mobile tabs, I would think that if you select the T-Mobile version that it would work. I won't be able to try this myself until tomorrow evening/night, unfortunately. If you don't wish to try it, I will post back with my results.
Well didn't work for me. Looks like you can only download via sms message link. Unfortunately it wasn't clear (not to me anyway) and I entered in my home phone number as I thought that was what was required to validate my credit card number. Thus no way now for me to change it and at least attempt to send to my Tab. That would probably fail as well, so I am SOL.
Edit: Spoke to soon!! I received an email verifying my purchase and low and behold it contained a link that I could download the game to my PC. Installed it fine with Sideload Wonder Machine. Sweet!!
Good news! Did you download the T-Mobile version of the app? And it's running smooth on your tab?
Yes i selected Tmobile as my option. I used the side wonder machine to install and it works perfectly. Its full screen and looks great.

Fullscreen apps on P500
Hello guys, i've installed hero of sparta on my P500 and the game is bigger than my screen, this also happens if i install any of gameloft games, is there any thing i can do to see the games fully fitted on my screen ? Thanks!
So it's finally out. What do you guys think? Is this the end of Appbrain? I loved appbrain cause I can browse the apps on the website and then just click install from there and it will automatically install on the phone. Now this can do it too!
The biggest upside to this? You can install (after you pay) "in-app" purchase app from the website. e.g. you can install the NBA League Pass from the website directly. Any other features I missed?
This is from Google themselves, not me.
https://market.android.com/
Cool. I like it.
I never really got into appbrain, because it still involved that extra step of opening the application itself.. and blah.. I think, I can't even remember. It just seemed tedious at the time to go onto the computer when it was quicker on my phone.
Then when Google does it, I'm all over it. I have been installing random applications just to install them. Why is this so awesome?!
I played with it for a while now and everything seems to be working well. I guess I can save some space by uninstalling appbrain and use this instead.
sweet jesus!
I'm like'n it...good stuff!
The automatic OTA install is working to my N1 and my Galaxy Tab now, it wasn't earlier this morning.
Works well!
With this new website comes another big change that will happen in the 3rd quarter of this year: NO MORE "LITE" version apps.

That's actually a good thing. You download the "free" application, and then if you decide to unlock it you buy the key from within the app rather than a separate unlocker application, or having the market cluttered with 2 separate versions.
Sounds like a plan!
The in-app purchasing as a general concept I'm not a massive fan off as it has the potential to lead to nickle & diming, primarily for games, but if used responsibly it should be good.
Wow, about time. Glad to see it's finally here.
now all they need to do is let you backup your app data. I dont want to lose my angry birds scores everytime i switch roms and forget to back it up with titamium backup
Well, I don't suppose there's a way for Market Enabler to work on the website?
It lists paid apps from all over the world, but it knows your phone's carrier and will prevent installs if your country does not support it..
I guess it's back to Market Enabler on the phone.
Anyone else having trouble actually buying apps from the website? Installing free apps works like a charm, but trying to purchase and install paid apps doesn't work. I press continue and _nothing_ happens.
running CM7 nightlies and the OTA installs are not working...
According to the website, you need to be logged into GTalk, only my GTalk won't log in. GTalk also appears to be missing from the market, so the problem may be on their end...

Doesn't work for me, it's been years and Android Market still doesn't support Google Apps accounts for Checkout. Although I can login, no devices are listed under "my devices" on market.android.com
I'm running CM7 Nightlies as well, I'm a few behind though, and I'm always logged into GTalk and the OTA's are not working for me either.
It's not working here on MM v.20. I've tried installing several apps but nothing happens on the phone end, the GTalk solution they give also doesn't help. Weird thing is they all show up on my app list as completed when none of them have actually installed.

I'm having the same issue. I'm running CM6.1 kangorama's version and the install says it has worked on the website, but nothing changes on the phone itself.
I'm wondering if it has to do with it being a rooted device without a stock rom?

I'm betting that someone is going to have to create a Web App Store Enabler or something along those lines for this to work on rooted phones or phones without stock ROM's.
I'm using CM7 off of an SD card, and I thought I'd load the B&N reader app and consider buying a book to read. Since CM7 doesn't provide the app, I went to the AppBrain market and it shows me a "Nook for Android by B&N", and then the procedure is to click the 'market' button to try to download it, but it says 'the requested item could not be found'. If I search for it on the CM7 provided 'market', the app doesn't exist.
How do I get this app?
I installed it by searching for "nook" in the Market app. No muss, no fuss. Now, I did that before the recent update, but it certainly shows as installed when I search now.
First, instead of appbrain, try going to market.android.com. That's the official web based market run by Google.
Second, the Nook app was in the Market app on CM7.0.3 on my NC. I installed it with no problems. The app also shows up in the Market app on my Nexus One running CM7.0.3. You might want to try clearing the data on your Market.app, or some other remedies to get it working as it should.
Third - "Since CM7 doesn't provide the app..." I don't know why they would provide the app. It's not what they do.

Up until now I have always used the appbrain app or the market app in the NC. I did once look at the web interface, but since I thought the intent was to 'use the device to manage the device', I never paid too much attention to their corresponding web sites; however, I did once look at the appbrain web site.

Thanks, but a 'it works for me', doesn't help me any.
But your comment above about the web site, did give me a though of something to try.
Although the NC kept telling me the 'app could not be found', the market.android.com web site said something different. It said 'This item cannot be installed in your device's country'.
Considering B&N will sell books in the US and Canada, I am surprised that the app can't be installed in Canada. Maybe somebody, somewhere didn't get the memo about Canada being a friendly country! But at least that explains it, even though the other apps didn't give me a useful clue/explanation. Now the question is how to get around it. B&N were more than happy to accept my credit card # in their original app on the stock NC. But that was B&N, and this may be a Google/Android restriction, who knows?

I didn't mean any slight to the CM7 project or team... it was just the observation part of my sentence.
On the other hand, CM7 does come with phone, camera and other apps, that I can't use, and I can't (obviously/easily) uninstall.
I was going to mention, Nook app doesn't seem to like other countries other than US.
Here is the app ripped right from my device. http://www.mediafire.com/?ysjyohkj4onm1az
Edit: Forgot to mention, install via adb or move onto your SD and install through a file manager.
I use HotspotShield to fake an US ip address and that's it no problems buying stuff from B&N.
Thanks for the .apk file, that worked. Now for my new observations:
1/ I have to click many times before the 'go to shop'/'go to library' reacts.
2/ I've only ever been able to see the 'about' screen once, and the other
button on the top right of the screen 'do not seem to work'.
... but it _is_ progress!

I looked at that service. It seems to be a MS Windows or Mac only product.
So that doesn't help on the Nook, or my other Linux machines - unless HotspotShield
supports standard VPN'ish software without the need for their magic code.
(if so, how?)
It's all over XDA but not here in our Iconia area yet. So I thought that I would post it here. If you try to get the app from the A500 it will give you an incompatible error. What you have to do is goto your pc and get the app from the Amazon Appstore then goto your "My Apps" in the Amazon app on your tablet. Find the app and click install. It may give you the error a few times but eventually it will download and install. Just keep trying.
At least it worked for me. Hope you guys have as much luck.
Actually what I did is this, I have a Android Phone which also has the Amazon App store installed with my same amazon account login (Plant's VS Zombies on both devices = WIN! ) So I installed it on my phone first, then on the tablet I hit menu and navigated to my apps, and then tapped install from my list of all apps and it downloaded and installed and WORKS without a hitch. I don't quite understand why this game was said to not work for tablets when it seems just as tablet friendly than Plants VS Zombies. They both don't multitask well as they always need to load back up the minute you do something else, even if its tapping on a notification in the bar. Even if you don't navigate to what the notification was showing you, the game loads back up. Ah well, hopefully they will continue to make these more Android friendly.

Thats Exactly how I Did it.
I know I could stream Grim Fandango Remastered from my pc but I do not have a Nvidia card only the intergrated Intel HD graphics. Fangdango is available for android but it is not compatible with any of my devices if it were I would d/l it and then sideload it. What can I do?
Do you have any devices that it is compatable with? If so, you can install it there, and move the APK.
..
Every device I have is rooted but the only one that is registered that is compatible is the Nexus 9 but I returned it because it was running very hot and bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 SM-T800 which my daily device now. It is rooted and running a custom 5.0.2 rom. I tried every device option available with Market Helper but Grim Fandango still did not show in the play store. I tried using my chrome browser and going to the play store and Grim Fandango would show but it still only showed it being compatible with the Nexus 9. Strange when I clicked on the play store compatibility list the device I was spoofing was not there. I double checked the device manager page and it showed that the device had ben changed to the spoofed one. Am I doing something wrong?

That's what you want. With market helper, it doesn't change the play store on the device. You have to install it on the web interface to the spoofed device. The play store on your device will update all installed apps though luckly, supported or not.
But, the spoofed device is not showing up in my compatibility list. The list is still only showing the original list. I am using the play store through Chrome browser. I'm starting to feel like a noob again! ?
..
So, I definitely have to use a pc. I thought since there was a in app link to the Android device mgr there was no need to use the pc.

Back on topic, did you manage to get this working?
To be honest, I have been sidetracked most of this week with an addition I am adding to my home. I will try this coming week and post results.
No I could not get it to work, it kept crashing. There is a version of it ln the Nvidia Store but it is only for the Shield tablet. How hard would it be to port it to the NSATV. I guess Nvidia would have to ask Doublefine for permission or else Doublefine would have to do it themselves? How does one bring this to Nvidias attention?
