can you please tell me what is the problem..??
Phone memory 120mb available sd card memory 2.9gb available..
still "out of space"
How you get nfs that have 38mb wtf? You need to extract data to SD; my data is 37mb and its working; then u need to install apk that has about 500kb... and first run you need to put airplane mode... just serch xda and you will find how to do this...
Hope i helped

There is a full version of it for phones with higher internal space and it has 38MB. However, if the phone has over 100 MB of internal storage left there should be no problem. @author - are you sure you actually have 120 MB of internal storage left?
yeahh
I know you've been told but I'll say it again.......
1)Extract the 'sd file' (.com.askhkdhka....wateva )to the root of sd card data/data
2)Go into Airplane Mode
3)Install the apk and launch
4)After first launch you can exit and take off airplane mode and it should work.
(For gameloft games extract sd file to 'gameloft/games/''your file''
and follow the same steps)
I've got Need for speed shift, PES 2011, N.O.V.A, H.A.W.X, Gangster: West Coast Hustle, The Sims 3, Asphalt 5 running nicely on the standard 2.1 OS, haven't changed it .'

Didn't I write there are two versions? You don't copy anything, all files are in your apk. There is another version, where most of the data, textures and stuff are in a separate folder, but it isn't your case. Just make enough place for the apk to install. I'd suggest twice as much as the apk takes Then push it to SD.
Simplest way is root ur phone & install superuser & link2sd from market..Done

hello friends and all the senior..i'm syukri from malyasia also newbie here..i've a problem to install gameloft game like asphalt5 on my samsung galaxy s19000. 1st i install the .apk file then i open it said must download the other data something like that on memory sd card. i allready put my memory card 4gig in my galaxy. then i try to install it but can't install it to memory card...i've try several time..tired to do it..anyone please help me...please......

You know that when ever a program refers to sd-card it means /SDCARD.
And this is the internal sdcard of the galaxy. The external sd-card is mounted at /sdcard/sd.
So friend how come i solve this problem..when i want to continue the installation it always says require at least 35mb memory card free but my memory card 4gig free..
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
This might be a form of copy protection where it doesn't want to allow apps to be installed off of an SD card. It sounds like you downloaded to an external card, am I right? Make sure you aren't confusing your internal and external SD (memory) cards, only use the internal memory card for downloads and installations.
actually it sounds like the [OP] already maxed out his INTERNAL SD, that's why the game is not installing.
Because Asphalt 5 installed fine for me just fine.
the games will not install to an EXTERNAL SD [OP] 4GB SD card because that feature only comes after fRoyo 2.2

You are referring to you externeal sd card!!
You can't use this card for installing apps. Only the internal sd card.
The internal sd card = sd card for any android app.

You can only install games on to your internal SD. If it fails to install due to not having enough memory you will have to delete some things for it to install. If you have a 4GB external SD you still cannot install apps to it as this is a feature of Froyo 2.2 only. If your not up for deleting anything you'll have to flash a froyo rom or wait until Samsung release the full official version.
easy, just click install
done
no special steps, it just installs automatically to the INTERNAL SD

So you have a stolen game ...
But you don't need to steal Asphalt 5 as it is available for free in the Samsung market.
Just select it there to install and everything works.
And of course you need some free space on your INTERNAL sdcard. Not the external 4GB you put in!!!

Are you running one of the leaked FroYo firmwares for Samsung Galaxy S? <-- Aha! Yes you are! I should have read your latest posts more carefully.
Nova (a Gameloft game) would not install under this firmware for me because the SD card handling in the leaked firmware was broken. The game requests phone-specific data for external storage (in-game media, I presume) during install, but fails when it cannot find the external SD card.
For the same reason, I could not mount the SD cards properly, a number of apps were unable to access data on the external card, and even custom recovery images failed to see the card so I was unable backup or restore anything via Nandroid.
The only fix for me was to re-install a stable 2.1 firmware.
EDIT: Just to clarify, Gameloft games require external SD storage and will ignore the internal storage completely, failing upon install if no external storage can be found. In the leaked 2.2 firmware (all versions that I found), external SD handling was broken, and the mounting points had been changed (so the external card could not be found where expected, at /sdcard/sd).
Formatting internal or external storage WILL NOT FIX THIS ISSUE!! It is a problem with the 2.2 firmware leaks that cannot be 'worked around'. I even tried sym-linking /sdcard/sd to the external card and got nowhere... but then, I'm not entirely sure I was doing it right anyway. :S
I think its leak because its only beta..many apps force close..the hp also running a bit slow..i bought this samsung from my friend and its allready upgrade to 2.2 beta..so how can i back to normal firmware..or is that i must reset the hp..how??

done but... the game still doesn't install...
"Oh well, whatever, nevermind..."
yep, still won't install. same goes for Fruit Ninja, just tells me that installation failed, no further notes or explanations. and raging thunder 2 freezes my phone completely.
ok got it:
unmount sdcard -> install game -> mount sdcard
Hy there people, yeah i know it s boring those app that wont install.
The thing is not in mouting and unmounting sd in settings, i ve tried
a lot of things but noting works, except changing my custom rom.
I used froyostone rom the one with no sense clock can be found on forum.
I never could install angry birds and others app or games, even if i downloaded
the file via pc and put it on my phone with droid explorer.
So i changed to an other rom the one with cyanogen builds, yeah it work
for me to install angry bird lite, but got much other apps that wont install. But those same apps worked on my froyostone rom.
So i guess there are some settings missing in those custom roms so that it make
it possible to install everything..... be patient or buy a second sd card one where you install froyosense with an older 3d patch in it (yeah if i bench froyostone i got a worse benchmark than with cyanogen based rom) and one the
second card install an other vustom rom if you want to install apps that dont
work with froyo...
Ehmmm by the way does somebody know if there is a patch boosting froyostone
rom 3D because i got i a difference of 200 points when i use cyanogen based rom???

I could still access it when going to the lowest directory level and then going to the sdcard folder. seems the card is not really unmounted, just for the system but you can still access it with astro:
press "Up" until it goes no further, then scroll down to "sdcard" and voila.

I can't get this to install no matter what I do. I've tried DLing it from the market, DLing the apk to my card & installing it that way, but it just will not work. Unmounting the SD card doesn't work either. Has anyone gotten this to install on Shubcraft?
Unmounting the card worked for me as well. make sure you are doing it in the right order as the previous posts

Instructions work.
I was unable to find the file after unmounting. However, as suggested, clicking to the lowest level in Astro and selecting SDCARD revealed the contents. The SDCARD shortcut in Astro did not work, had to navigate as mentioned.

Hello,
Someone kindly help me to understand the installation directories for the Apps and Games on Android's internal and external storage please ..
i have the DHD rooted and S-off ..
i understand how apk can be installed from Market and through 3rd party application and so on .. but certain games won't work .. due to missing data files..
so i am wondering how the installation directories work?
for app and game's main program .. it's installed to:
/data/app/"...app names..."/ ---> main program file
/data/data/"...app names..."/ ----> data files
is this correct?
for the games, where does the data files reside?
under /data/data/" xx "
or under /sdcard/android/data/" xx " ? if we want to save the internal memory?
for example, a game which is like 1xxMB large .. but i couldn't find out where the large data file was installed to .. after performing the move2SD .. it seems to me only the main app program "like 2, or 3 mb" is moved to sdcard only ...
You don't ever need to move apps to the SD card on the DHD. I don't understand why you would be asking this, unless it was for piracy.
If you want to backup data/games/apps use Titanium backup, if you want to force apps to the SD card (which is totally unnecessary on the DHD) you will have to root install clockwork recovery and install an APP2SD ROM, i.e. CM 6.1 and force apps to the SD card.
thanks for the reply.
I just want to know where they save all the files .. so i can save the internal memory .. though it's 1.5gb big ..
i have used the titanium ..and it has a feature to move app to SD .. is that the same function you mentioned about? or i need to flash another rom for it.. hmm ..
and when i uninstall the files .. i want to make sure they are clean .. not leaving some files here and there ^^
i have tested couple games now .. and able to see they indeed download the big data files to SD .. ^^ .. but i see their files everywhere .. like under data/data // system/app , mnt/sdcard/ and etc ..
thanks ~~

May be a silly question but do you clean temp files of apps?
You can also try Move2SD Enabler from this post.
It allows you to move certain phone only apps to SD.
Eg. Fast 5 will become 264kb instead of 22.7mb on the ROM. The rest is installed to SDcard.
Remember to thank the guy if you do.

It changes a string for the installation location to be on the sd card.
So that apps that normally install to rom can be installed to sd.
However, it's not retroactive. After you changed the installation location to external memory, you can manually move apps to sd by going to settings and applications.
It's on the market but that version only works on Froyo. This one works of on gingerbread.

Cool, i´ll try it. More internal memory!
I like it because if something did not work (I have not encountered a game or app that has not when moved) the option exists to move it BACK. It is very similar to an app I used to use on the Tapwave Zodiac back in the Palm days. One of the main reasons to have root on the Play is this app!

The Android framework is like system32 for windows. Basically, don't mess with it. You're not bricked. Use FlashTool to reflash the .ftf file for your phone version.

Thanks for letting me know. Will I loose all my info such as SMS, contacts, etc.? And where can I find info on how to reflash and get the correct .ftf for the phone?
Here is the FlashTool thread, and pretty much just search the Development subforum to find the thread that specifically deals with your phone model, whether it's x, i, at, or whatever else there is.
Flashing that .ftf will put you back to stock, so hope that you had your contacts backed up with your Google account. And SMS will be gone, as well as everything else that was personal.
