Is anybody having a issue with typing lag using the primee rom or picasso. I have a very fast connection. Some were saying it was because of connection speed. When i go to regular sites using stock browser i have no problems.
this belongs in the general section

No matter which browser I use, desktop versions of websites will NOT load. The only one I found semi-able to load was Merian, but only in iPad mode.
Any thoughts?

Please start by saying what browser are you using and if you are connected to Wifi or regular data signal. Thanks.
Also...are you trying the different user agents through the browser's settings menu?

Merian, Dolphin, Skyfire...
The problem actually fixed itself... very weird.
..
Does anyone else's browser force shut while trying to load random sites and close all your tabs? Mine happens quite frequently and has become rather annoying. Also for some rreason it forgot my pw an usernsme for xda and now it don't ask to save, anyone know how to reinitiate that prompt?
Mine occasionally closes as well. Also, my keyboard entry seems to lag like crazy!
WTF?
Trust me the lag on xda app isn't near as bad as it is on xoomforums.com. hoping a simple software update will fix this.

Thats a good point. I have experienced the odd crash of the browser and frankly the ONLY site I have issues browsing is this site (xda). When the site loads the performance of the browser drops off considerably. If I have additional tabs open (to other sites) the browser will fall over. I wonder what it is about this site (especially scrolling the main page) chokes the browser so much. Again, any other site or combo of sites that I normally troll all work fine, fast, stable.

Try and use a different browser. I'm using firefox and I'm not having any issues at all. To reinitiate setting for browser go to settings applications browser clear cache and set to defaults will get it.

I love mozilla anyway
my browser closes all the ttime. Seems to have picked up lately as well. Almost every time I switch tasks the browser crashes and loses all my open tabs
At first, this wasn't really a problem...over that past day or so, it's crashed several time. Last night I was purposely opening up 3-4 normal tabs (cnn, google, facebook, hopstop). It crashed at least 10 times in about 20-25 mins.
This is getting very annoying. I know can use another browser, but come on, I should be able to use the stock browser.
bump. anyone else have this issue? my browser has crashed on me about 10 times today...and of course had to crash as i was demonstrating the device to some apple fanboys and talking about how much cooler it is
I've had maybe one or two crashes since I've had it, but none in the last two days.
i am having some issues with pages not loading properly and where pdf / imagr download that the page does not a sign the file extension to do not load where they did on I pad. I am confident google will fix soon tho.
is anyone else having problems loading cnet.com? I have tried both wifi and 3G and cnet will no load. Watching the status at the bottom right of the screen it looks like it's trying to load the mobile version but ends up not loading anything. Most likely a proxy issue but i'm not sure how to resolve it.
It eureka fine on mine I'm using dolphin browser though

I was just able to google: Cnet.com, and click the link using the default browser. It then loaded the Mobile site; at the bottom of the page was a link for their 'full site' which also loaded with no problems. Sounds like a proxy issue.
ok...i should had said more....it loads fine on any browser on the phone, but when using the Laptop dock and trying to go to cnet.com it just times out.
Ok, so I do the about:debug thing on my Xoom because I like to view my sites in desktop view, but everytime I restart I have to do it all over again. Is there anyway to fix this other then rooting my Xoom?
There is a way but only works on the 3G. It's on the development forum.

I did it once and it has stayed as desktop. My Xoom is turned off quite often.
That sucks bc i have the wifi only model(not a big fan of Verizon) and it always comes undone for me.

Mine is the WiFi only.
Just use Dolphin Mini & set user agent as desktop and you're done for good.Plus it works 100 times better than the stock browser.

Insufficient information.
What page? The page you're loading makes a HUGE difference. There are pages which even on a fast link can take 20+ seconds to load.
Unfortunately, the network troubleshooting tools you need prob require root. I would say try a tracert to a website giving you alleged trouble. If the response is within an adequate range, start looking at any browser plugins you may be running if applicable. So many variables with this, and as was mentioned, some pages just render slow.

Try another browser like Dolphin. You could also try to clear the cache in browser settings, wipe history, passwords etc.

Not the best of advice to give to someone who might not be an expert. ICS ROM images at this point are still experimental, with their share of known issues.
Unless you use your tablet to take pics or as a GPS device, it works great as a daily device.
