First I had a transformer, the stock browser had an option for quick controls in the labs section under settings, but the galaxy tab doesn't have the lab settings at all. Has anyone found a way to enable them? I really miss the full screen feature and I don't want to use a third party browser.
Personally, I am a big fan of dolphin, but I think I you enable debugging, you will get more options.

Debugging does give more options, but labs still doesn't come up
I was wondering the same also. hopefully someone could let us know. that is such a good feature
Anyone? I see no reason for Samsung to cripple the browser
Go to the app section here. Someone has posted the browser apk.
That said I have no idea why it's not on here by default.

Looks that way.
The Quick Browsing settings are really cool and helpful.
Has anyone found out how to activate it?
Has anyone been been able to find the Quick Browsing Settings?

Ok so i just got my g2 here in hawaii today. Moved over from the n1 i had running cm6 stable. The only reason i moved was for the keyboard lol i have fat fingers. anyways does anyone know if theres a way to have the g2's browser run in "desktop" mode? the n1 had a option to switch it from iphone, desktop, and android browser i believe. I loved that because i use facebook alot and i really hate that it pulls up the "touch" facebook app by default. any help is appreciated thanks!
whats the point of having full flash support if it doesnt even pull up the full sites by default? it makes no sense to keep pushing the little link on the bottom that says "full site"
type "about:debug" into the address bar of the browser and hit enter. nothing will happen. go to settings in the browser and scroll all the way down to UAString and change the value to "desktop"

This works well, however you may have to do it again each time. I know that's how it was for my Nexus One.

Hi,
Anyone with a rooted 10.1v already tried to replace the stock browser with the one that is shipped with any other honeycomb device? I miss the Lab Quick controls badly (it doesn't work on any firmware I tried, not on the one it came with, not on the newer version Chainfire provided) and was thinking that a simple replacement with another stock browser would solve this. But before going through the hassle of rooting the tab I just want to know if someone tried this already.
Any valuable response gets 3 thanks on the counter
I tried it with my I/O tab. Did not work at all =[

Bad news. So the quick control doesn't work on the I/O tab either?
You are saying that Galaxy Tabs don't have quick controls in browser!?

Well, it does contain an option to turn it on in the Lab settings, it just doesn't work. Just a bug, that, I'm sure, will be ironed out at some point.

Thats strange. It works great on Xoom, both Android 3.0.1 and 3.1.
They work, but ONLY in portrait mode

On the I/O tab, we don't even have an option to turn it on. There are no "labs" settings at all. And when I said "did not work at all" I meant that the browser did not work at all.. not that the quick controls did not work. The browser just force closed immediately.

Which browser did you try? The Xoom browser? Anyway think I'm going to root my device and do some experiments. I really miss those controls.
Did you log the FC?
Haven't seen this posted anywhere and thought it was useful. To set the stock honeycomb browser User Agent to desktop (load webpages as desktop site instead of mobile)
Open browser and in the address bar type this
about:debug
Open browser settings (top right corner) and you should see a new debug option with a crap load of options. One of them being UAstring.
Change this to desktop
This along with a proper flash player let's you do anything a desktop browser can do all from the stock hc browser
Its not my fault if you change any other setting and it causes world war 3 or any other tragic event.
Don't forget to say thanks

Old news, and it was already posted somewhere. HC 3.1 and above has that option in the browser settings menu, no need to do 'about:debug' anymore

Didn't have this option on civatos 3.2 in my settings. Only way to get it was to do about:debug. It wasn't old news to me when I found it two days ago. If I help say thanks. If I don't, move along.

Yes it is very much an option in Civato's ROM.
Stock browser, settings, advanced, viewing mode.
Like sensei said, old news for 3.01
So I have a reddit app, but sometimes I like to browse the actual website ( I have my reasons )... But when I click on a link it will randomly ask if I want to open the link with my reddit app or the browser. I click browser and check the option that says "always open with browser" which is great, except that a second later it asks me the same question after clicking on a link. Just taking a shot here wondering if anyone knows how to fix this. Very annoying after a while. Unrooted here.
Check your settings privacy yet? Maybe your settings is keeping it from doing what you want like accepting cookies or form data etc. What browser are you using?

OK, so I've been using Google Messenger for ages now, and I have no idea how the Samsung messenger works. Right now, when I click a link in a text, it brings up an internal Samsung browser that opens the page. Is there any way I can disable it, and just open it in my default web browser (In this case, Firefox)?
Thanks in advance for the help.

you need to clear default data from Samsung Browser
next it will ask how to complete action (select Firefox)
:good:
Sorry, maybe I was unclear: Clicking the link isn't opening Samsung's browser itself, it's opening like an "in app" browser, which opens the web page. I then have to click "more" and select "Open in browser". I've never actually opened the Samsung browser, and it's not selected as a default for anything.

I actually hate textra. The only reason I'm using the stock app is for the RCS and the always on screen notifications. If I was going to move away from the stock app, I'd just go back to Google Messenger.

There isn't, at all. I've checked every setting in the app, trying to find something hidden through system settings but I'm not expecting anything.
edit: wrong reply.
