But When i connect my samsung Vibrant to my PC and open Mini Kies , it says "Please connect your Phone"; but on my Phone i chose Kies and its showing that its connected..
Is there anyway i can upgrade to Gingerbread?
Note: I am living in Bangladesh, where the upgrade is not available i guess..
I have tweaked the phone by unlocking the network to use in Bangaldesh..

Hi,
I have read about this tweak somewhere on the net on how to get Kies recognize your Samsung Galaxy S. For my Galaxy S I9000, this tip still works. So, maybe you should give it a try.
<1> Install Kies(Any version should do)
<2> Download and install the collection of Samsung Galaxy S USB drivers to their default location (I downloaded the 64-bit versions from softpedia- so google it ^^)
<3> Download and install latest Microsoft .Net Framework (I used Ver. 4)
<4> Connect your galaxy s via usb, open kies and it should be connected in a few seconds. If it asks for drivers, locate the driver folder to %System%/Program Files/Samsung/ USB Drivers/
<5> If still cannot connected, try Driver Recovery in Kies Main Menu. If it asks for drivers, repeat step 4.
One possible reason for Kies to recognize but say your phone cannot be updated is when you have your OCLF (one-click lag fix) installed on ur rooted galaxy s. If so, restart your ph and try again. If not, try uninstalling OCLF lag fix first and connect again.
Hope this works ^^
My issue is trying to get the drivers to work properly. I can nevet get the mtp to work properply. Im using win7-64.

i need to upgrade :S
I get this message while in Kies
"This Device's version cannot be updated"
I have the I5801 with Orange network, i flashed the firmware to
InDroid v2.0 XXJPL Final Version (rudolf895) Also a great Rom
Been a noob i never made a backup of the old firmware Is that just a standard message? "This Device's version cannot be updated"
If not, how do i get Kies to work with the phone again?
With the 2.2 firmware coming soon i would like to try it
Thanks for any help
That is the message you get when there is no update available for download. I don't think Samsung has released Froyo update for UK yet..so you need to wait I guess..
When the update is released officially, you will first need to download your original ROM from samfirmware.com, flash it to replace your custom ROM & then Kies will upgrade the ROM with official version.
I am trying to update a clients phone to the latest version of the OS. The phone and myself are located in the USA and the phone is an Orange Samsung Galaxy S. I can not access the new firmware from kies. Does anybody have any alternatives or workarounds that may be able to get me the update?

Hi, i'm italian and i have an Samsung Galaxy S SCL (GT-i9003), but when I connect to my PC (with Windows XP installed on) Kies recognizes the phone but after that the page of "general information" on the phone told me this: "This version of the device can not be updated. "
The problem may lie in the fact that the phone is not Italian, but Polish? (it is imported, because the Serial Number be XEO)
I'm not going to change the telephone or the like Odin to "force" the update (I prefer to keep it true) but I just want to know if when it comes out officially Gingerbread for my mobile phone can be updated by Kies, or I will be forever bound to have Froyo on my beloved Galaxy S SCL?
(Sorry for my English, but i'm Italian...)
Help please
what is you Firmware at the moment? if you had flashed it once with odin for an example 2.2.1 and your latest Firmware for key product XEO is 2.2.1 available in Kies of course your phone cant be upgraded because it is the same Firmware....unless the Kies show up with 2.3.3 then you can upgrade your firmware........i am not sure if i am answering your question or not...just trying to help from what i know...
Same happened with me,it will last until there is no update for ur phone. But once new firmware was avaliable then it showed up on KIes. Make sure u have the latest Kies version installed on ur pc .

Hello all.
I am running a older galaxy tab 7 from t-mobile that is still on the original release jjb firmware not the jj3 software o any update.
I tried to connect the phone to the computer to get the update and no mater which version of kies of tried it says either not supported (kies 2.0) or is not found at all (kies mini).
I couldn't use Kies at all on stock T-Mobile firmware. When I went to gingerbread (euro) I think Kies 2.0 worked fine for me

What update are you referring to? I don't think that either T-mobile or Samsung have released any updates for the SGH-T849 tablet for T-mobile. After waiting 9 months for them to release an official update for their tab, I finally gave up and loaded the 2.3.6 Rom for Germany. Then I reflashed the modem file for T-mobile and I finally have Gingerbread on my Galaxy Tab.
Before I flashed the tablet, Kies did not recognize my device. After I flashed it, Kies saw it as P1000 device instead of an SGH-T849.
From the other posts and links I found there are the JJ3 and JJ2 firmware files and nothing like that was ever poping up for me. Also I saw a few other people saying they got the update using kies to that verision from the original JJB
Sorry to say but you are mistaken, T-mobile USA has never released an update for its Galaxy Tab. You have the original and only stock ROM on your T-mobile Tab that has ever been available. Kies never has and probably never will natively recognize the original T-mobile Galaxy Tab. If you want to upgrade to Gingerbread, you're going to have to flash a European ROM or a custom ROM to get there.
