I`m running plex to stream movies to the transformer which is plugged into the HDMI of the tv, it works great but the sound is not very good I have to turn the volume up high on the tv to hear it propperly. It also seems that the volume on the pad controls the volume of the HDMI output which seems weird. Anyone else noticed or am I asking to much of the Transformer.
Well, mine is too loud and I can't turn it down.

I tried headphones last night on my kindle fire for the first time, and they were LOUD! I tried some amazon videos, and I had to set the volume super low...and they were still plenty loud.
The worst part is that there is zero adjustment available. It's either off, or one step above it, which was a little too loud. There are a number of adjustments ABOVE that, but they're all insanely loud.
I even downloaded fine volume to see if I could get a better adjustment...but I still had to set the media volume at like 5%.
Anyone else have this problem (or a solution)?
Have you tried any other headphones. That'd be the only suggestion I really have as I haven't really hooked any headphones up to mine lol.
Tried it with a pair of computer headphones that have a volume slider, and they worked well. Went back to my pair of earbuds, and it was working fine, so who knows, haha.
I am currently running Revolver 4 Mod with guevor's test 15 kernel, I know this is a Slider but everything so far that I've ran into has been compatible with TF101.
I am able to get the HDMI cable to connect to my Scepter TV but when I do the sound is distorted like I should turn the source down but I can't find any option to do so, when I turn down the volume on the tablet it does nothing. The only solution I have found so far is to run a separate cable for the audio from my headphone jack, this is less than ideal so I'm wondering if anyone knows of an option or a program to do this.
The tablet runs full volume through HDMI so you need to change the volume on hte TV not the tablet. This is so that you do not have 2 (or 3 if you have an audio box) different volume levels that you have to control
The problem I have is that I can't control the TV only a receiver and it sounds really bad when I turn it down to a tolerable level... I can't understand any voices only muffle. I do have a DVD player that connects via hdmi and it sounds perfect, I also tried flipping the hdmi ports but this didn't help either.

I just double checked on a different TV and sure enough it is so loud you can't turn it down enough to be heard clearly. I do understand hdmi drives the volume at full but it's impossible to hear clearly since it's so loud. I really want to fix this, any ideas?

When I connect Micro HDMI to HDMI cable to my Monitor, it works in 720p mode. How to use 1080p i.e FullHD mode. My monitor is 1080p.
..... ..... .....
Also there is no option to increase/decrease vol, the volume just stays at 100%. Can't even access the sound/volume adjustments from settings app.
Is it possible t use tn7's speakers instead of monitor's speakers. How to enable TN7's speakers when connected via HDMI? ( My monitor's speakers are bad. )
... ... ...
I also want to try a USB hub with charging and pen-drive/Game controller/ connected at the same time. Is this possible that simultaneously it will charge also?
..... ..... .....
Well, to answer about 1080p, it will only output at 1080p if you are playing a 1080p video; there is no way to change the resolution for things like games, etc.
Second, I believe it only outputs audio through HDMI when that is hooked up; it cuts off the built-in speakers the same way plugging in headphones does.
As for a USB hub, I'll leave that to someone else since I've never tried it myself. Hope that helped!

Thanks rchrdcrg. I played some 1080p videos and it filled my entire monitor screen. Web browsing/riptide gp2 was still in 720p as you said.
Hey everyone, a few weeks ago I had posted asking for experiences on the audio out feature on the 2nd gen Amazon game controller. I got some answers and I went ahead with my purchase since I was able to get $20 knocked off the retail price. This is my review of watching movies on Kodi while connecting my headphones to the game controller.
Connection
This connects via WiFi Direct. As soon as I inserted my headphone wire into the jack, a small notification appeared on the tv saying that the audio was being sent to the game controller. Once I removed it, sound played from my speakers.
Audio Quality
I felt that the audio quality was decent. Initially, I ran into the issue where the audio was extremely distorted (like the sound was deep and disgusting), but I disconnected the audio cable, restarted the movie, and played at some random part to ensure to the audio quality was good. I then reinserted the cable to the jack and listened. The audio was good. So I restarted the movie and watched. At times, I did feel like the audio wasn't very rich, but it was decent enough for me. Oh and the most important part -- you know how we had to adjust the audio offset in Kodi when we played via bluetooth? Yep, not an issue with the controller. Audio synced perfectly. :good:
Volume
I faced the biggest issue with volume. Kodi doesn't have a volume control option (since all it does is play around with the amplification), and there was nothing on google that I found that helped. Out of desperation, I thought about giving up and just watching something on Sling.tv (an app I downloaded from the app store), and while in the process, I changed the volume. Curious, I went back into Kodi to see if the volume was reduced (since originally the volume was extremely loud), and it was. I went back and forth (thank you FireStarter!) and adjusted the volume to my liking. I didn't have to change the volume throughout the rest of the movie. As a side note, the right stick adjusts the volume in Kodi (since a little popup on the top right appears with a volume bar) -- yeah, that does nothing.
Issues I faced
There was only one issue that sort of fixed itself. When I watch movies on my bed at night, I have a tower fan oscillating about a few feet from the side of the bed. This happened to my bluetooth receiver as well, but there were these noticeable gaps / drops in audio. Sort of like a hiccup. Anyway, I turned off the tower fan and the audio didn't drop. I turned it back on and the audio didn't drop again. It was a weird experience.
It's only been one day, one movie. So I can't say how long the battery will last. Since this will be used primarily for audio, maybe an occasional game or two, I'll keep track of when the battery need replacing.
Overall Thoughts
Strictly speaking, is $50 worth it to listen to audio while on the bed? It depends. Bluetooth is significantly cheaper and it is rechargeable, so you aren't spending a lot of money on AA batteries. I was facing issues with audio while listening using a BT receiver. Audio offsetting wasn't a big deal since I figured out my magical number (+0.375 sec), but the audio gaps really took away from an excellent experience. At retail price, I probably wouldn't go for it. But having received a $20 discount ($10 in GC, $10 in discover promotion), I'm going to keep it.
That's all. HTH.
I just got mine yesterday.
Thoughts.
*very* similar to the xbox360 pad, but quite slippy. Def needs more grip, gonna buy some rubber sticky grips for it from Amazon lol.
The L2/R2 buttons are too much at right angles IMO.
They should be angled in a bit more to fit better.
A bit front heavy
All buttons and thumb sticks feel good.
Sound for me was good through my Bose earbuds.
4/5. just needs wayyy more games.
Hey guys is there a way to boost the volume when using Bluetooth headphones and speakers? The volume is fine with the tablets speakers and wired headphones bug Bluetooth is really quiet.

You can increase the volume on your Bluetooth headphones/speakers, not on your Fire tablet.
cheers mate but i have done that but the problem was the seris i was watching had really low volume, it was ok with wired headphones though but everything else seems fine
