anyone noticed? i know its a plastic but the brushed effect really stands!
Giggity?
I went with White because I felt it looked better, but that's aweseom they properly textured it.
Feels more like plastic than wood to me. But I like how it feels and looks.
felt woody to me, too.

I will be receiving my note this week (really excited) , while reading a review online it said that the note had a metal frame around the side, is this accurate ? i thought it was a plastic frame?
Thanks
Gunner
Feels like metal. It may be just anodized/chromed plastic but it's so good quality that I just don't know.

Sorry, OCD kicked in, you can't anodize plastic, only Aluminium.
Damn It was such a nice evening and now I gotta commit ritual suicide. What did you do?
After several tests (lip test, nose test, forehead test etc) I must admit my mistake and agree with ltrulsse - it feels like more like plastic than metal. Still very classy in my opinion.
If it's metal, its aluminum. A magnet does not attract to it.
I think it's hard plastic, personally. It looks good. Not sure how durable the frame will be if it's plastic, tho.
I have been thinking for a while that i want to paint the front plastics from brown to black and was wondering the best way. If anyone has done or knows something about painting pstic with out fingers getting paint when done
ummmm...there was a guy on here that mentioned about polishing the bezel section and such on here because it was dropped. Turned out pretty good in the end, I would contact the OP on that thread about that.
As far as my experience goes, I had an Acura RSX that I painted the plastic headlights (the shiny inside part) black and various colors for other people and they turned out good. The key thing is to remove the old stuff off first before doing so. you are basically then starting with a fresh canvas. wear latex or nitrile gloves as well. use paint cleaner to really get all the oils and stuff off. a LIGHT coat of primer, and then light passes of paint make all the difference in the world.
Or is the rounding material before glass metal? Im starting to feel its metal instead of plastic?
You know what, it is metal, that's right. I remember that guy anodized his bezel.

Definitely metal. You can feel it especially while charging.
Maybe plastic dip. Google it.

The material is made of TPU. Last time I used a TPU case it felt like silicone but with more rigidity. Is the official Asus Travel Cover the same? What does the material feel like? Is it soft like rubber or cold and rigid like hard plastic? Does it feel like it's as cushiony as silicone?

It's not cold, and not as soft as silicone (I have on my phone, i.e.). I really like it, it is nice to the touch and doesn't slip when you hold it (but silicone holds better).

This. Same for me.

But it has no magnets to be fixed when it is closed, right?
And if you open it, can you open it so wide that it can touch the back? Thanks

It has a pretty rubbery feel and yes, it can be folded all the way to the back . I got the baby blue color but am now having post purchase regret.. Should have gone for the bright orange which will look so nice contrasting with the black tablet! Haha
Thanks for the responses guys.
How flexible is it compared to silicone? Does it have a shiny finish or did they rough it up so it has a matte finish inside and out? I'm trying to determine what it would feel like in the hand as TPU alone doesn't really tell me what the finish is. I've seen TPU cases that look glossy and some that look matte. Does it kind of feel matte and smooth like a mouse ball? I know it's probably not going to feel as smooth as silicone but it't not going to grip as much either which I kind of like it having less grip. I might have to get this case.
What about the thickness? How thick is it? 2mm? Like if you look through the speaker cutout you can see how thick it is right?

Nope. This much I do know, it has no magnets which from what I'm reading is kind of a bummer to everyone because:
A) It can keep the cover closed when you put it in a bag or something.
B) It can utilize the magnetometer to do cool things like put it to sleep and turn it on depending on the cover like a smart cover.

I'm torn between the whitish color and the dark gray. Probably end up going with the whitish but the gray just looks more professional. I pretty much only want the official case because it has the Nexus 7 branding and dimples all over it.
EDIT: Oh and I heard people complain about the power and volume buttons. They said they couldn't feel them. I feel them less with a silicone case on, but I still feel them. Is it true that you can't feel how much pressure you're putting on them? I don't want to be overpressing the buttons. Since it's a more rigid material I would say there seems like some truth to this?
It has a matte finish. Dull. At least the gray one does. It's the thinnest case for the N7 I believe. A little thicker than a tpu phone case. Very soft feel to it a little grippier than the stock back but not sticky at all.

Lol why would you like the dimples on this case? I like the Nexus branding on the back of this case but certainly not the tiny holes spreaded throughout the case.
And yes I couldn't really feel the physical buttons when pressing. I mean I could feel them but pressing them a little bit seems to activate the buttons already.
I think the dark gray case looks nice too but a vibrant color like bright orange won't hurt too. Haha
Looking for a tough case for my nexus 4 - any recommendations please?
(note: I'm not looking for a wallet-style case, or a holster - something to stay on it all the time)
I have this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AVAT76M/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Its a bit bulky but really does feel like it adds a good amount of protection.
Ive got an "astronoot" case from ebay
im actually pretty satisfied with it, feel like it could withstand a good fall. grabs some lint on the silicone part, but the holes line up and its grippy, looks decent too.
case smells like burning tires for a bit though...
Generic knock off but I like it

Ballistic case and it isn't even close.

Rugged Case
Its a bit bulky but really does feel like it adds a good amount of protection.[/QUOTE]
I also have this case, the kick-stand is nice vertical or horizontal, a bit bulky but still fits nicely on my pocket. The rubber case is textured and I can already see this becoming worn at the corners, but for the price I'll replace it when it starts to look tattered
I am looking for a high quality case like Otter Box Defender or a life case for the Tab E, does anyone have any suggestions?
i just got this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...b-41fa-4a3b-8e0f-31b9d08e4568&pf_rd_i=desktop
its sturdy so far and the rubber texture is nice. the bottom of the case goes right up against the touch buttons though, and the screen protector is flimsy cellophane.
This case from Flintie is also a slight disappointment. Materials are nice enough and it feels sturdy, but build quality and fitment details are lacking.
