MT3G 1.2 32A (Sapphire PVT 32A SHIP S-ON G) Questions???

Hi everyone,
I am somewhat new at this so please be patient with me if I am not understanding this correctly. I have been searching and reading and posting questions on different threads for several days now any can't seem to come to any kind of conclusion as to what ROM I should/could be using so I need some help. What I am trying to get is a stable (preferably official) ROM with HTC Sense on my T-Mobile USA MyTouch 3G 1.2 (Sapphire PVT 32A SHIP S-ON G). Every forum post I have found so far has had slightly different info. Here are some questions I have based on different posts and guides I have read:
1. Is the MT3G 32A == HTC Magic 32A for Rogers/UK? What is the difference? Radio?
2. Can any 32A ROM be used for MT3G 32A? Why/Why Not?
3. Would an official HTC Magic ROM for Rogers or Voda work using rom.zip(from RUU_Sapphire_SMC_Voda_WWE_3.03.990.6_release_signed_NoDriver.exe)->sappimg.nbh then update using goldcard method? Why/Why Not?
4. Does the MT3G 32A have the same hardware as the HTC Hero? If so can I use official or custom Hero ROM? Why or Why not?
Anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

The thing is any Magic with 3.5 headphones jack on the top requires a different procedure to flash custom roms. So Magic 32A roms dont work on those with 3.5 jack due to the new hardware. There are no custom roms yet, so the only thing you can get is root(like you already have). Oh, if I were you I wouldnt try flashing custom roms of hero and Magic 32A. Just wait for the "offical" custom rom.

Just at the bottom of the page is big DOWNLOAD for that rom, you just need a recovery that i have you can flash it with this

my t-mobile Fender isnt what it seems!

Hi hoping someone can help me, i just recieved a 2ndhand t-mobile Mytouch Fender edition , i got this as it suppossed to have upgraded cpu and mem from the old magic.
I have a few issues weather its really a fender/1.2 - also its already rooted from what i can tell
Recovery says v1.6.2G - shouldnt it be H ?
Fastboot says :-

RADIO-2.22.23.02 - looks like a 32b radio ?
OCT 2009 - these things were released jan 2010 i thought ?
Its running android 1.6
SetCpu overclocks to 576mhz and in info only reports total mem @ 195mb !!
Would like some advise on what you guys think this is before i install any roms, and different recovery images etc cas i think i got done over - hope not

if it doesn't have a 3.5mm it is not a 1.2

I believe all fenders are 32B cause it says 32A but the roms dont work , So i did a 32B and they work fine

Which radio is the newest for my mytouch. i know very little about the whole 32a 32b thing. info from my phone

i know it says 32a but when i first flashed a 32a rom it wouldnt do anything. I can flash g1 rom all day long though.
So what would be the latest radio for my device?

Just stick with your 2.22.23.02 radio. Your device is a 32A but more of a 32B. Let me explain... the only thing that's a 32A is your memory. HOWEVER if you have a custom rom built for 32B MyTouch devices then it is not taking advantage of the 288mb of ram so it gets wasted. You need a lot of modification of the kernel to take full advantage of it. So technically... since you are not using all of your ram... you pretty much have a 32B device. It requires 32B radios... 32B kernels... 32B roms. So for the most part anything that works on a 32B device should work on your device. With some exception of some roms that have older kernels. In other words... no Hero roms with 1.5 firmware because your touchscreen and headphone jack may not work.
Just stick with your existing radio because it's a mild inconvenience to change radios anyway because you have a protected SPL and even if you did manage to flash a newer radio... odds are you won't notice any difference anyway.

Currently i am running CM 6.1
Heres my setup:
Mytouch 3g 1.2 32A

I tried a full wipe and installing GY RC 6.1 and i got an error with the Boot image during installation of the compcache.
I see that most people have a different radio which appears to be a newer radio, could that be the problem?

You need to upgrade your radio to either 2.22.28.25 or 2.22.27.08, which is stated in the first post of the Yoshi thread.
