Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my HD2, and Yes, I've read other "unstable HD2" topics.
However my problem is quite different.
My HD2 is unstable on any OS or ROM.
I've used some Polish roms, then Cruzers.
I found Cruzer 5 most stable, however I still had to reflash radio from time to time, and do hard reset quarterly to maintain stability (no OS modification, hacks or any other "funny" business meantime), stock OS's seemed stable at first, but then proved otherwise.
Now with m$ MyPhone closure I've decided to jump onto android as I've bought a PNA for Navigation.
I'm using Magldr + HyperDroid CM7 HeadyHoneyBadger and it seemed stable for quite some time.
Now just out of nowhere it begins to crash all the time, with no activity from me at all.
Installed additional programs, tested each one on aspect of stability, and none proved faulty:
- Eset Mobile Antivirus
- XConstruct
- 3g watchdog
- Goweather
- AndFTP
- Transdroid
- ConnectBot
- FLashplayer
- TitaniumBackup
- Make Your own clock widget
- TuneIn Radio
- Skype
- Dialer One
- Google SkyMap
- Google Maps with modded Navi
- Bluetooth File Transfer
- ASTRO File Manager
- RockPlayer Lite
- Robo Defense FREE
- Allegro
- MoboPlayer
- Minimal Reader
- CalWidget
- Battery Calibration
- Barcode Scanner
- Adobe® Reader®
- Shazam
Is there any hope for me?
Could You advise me anything?
Thank You for any responses,
GreQ
You need to do a clean install.
This means completley wiping both the NAND and SDCard.
Format SDCard with Panasonic SDFormatter....
Format: FULL+Overwrite
Size Adjustment: ON
Clean Install..
Get the HD2 Tools in the sticky thread in Android NAND section
Put phone into bootloader - Use Task29
Put phone into bootloader - Install MAGLDR
Then you will need to choose the appropriate CWM partition for the rom, check the thread for details or use the DFT flasher if it comes with one.
If this doesn't solve it you will likely need to get a new/different card.
TheATHEiST, Thank You for answering.
I've done those steps before doing an clean install of HyperDroid.
When I was testing those programs - if they're at fault or not I was doing clean install every time - it took a larger part of my life
My SD card is really slow, however I don't use EXT on SD, I have no EXT at all, may that be the cause?
If SD is faulty, would my HD2 benefit from better/faster card?
what exactly is unstable? can you give more details?
Thanks for answering jsmccabe78.
Most things in android FC after some time, or at the start, or even don't start at all.
On windows apps hang, close, sense doesn't want to boot up.
Yesterday when I thought I had a while until some total reflash I've tried to do backup via ClockWorkMod, and then even Magldr and CWM started hanging, now phone won't boot.
Doing total reflash, let's see if that helps... again..
It didn't help this time...
GAPPS, Framework crash all the time.
Radio 15.50 , HSPL 2.08, fresh MAGLDR.
Reflashed everything 2 times now, every time different app starts to malfunction...
.12. Radio seems to improve stability.
strange. often when things are bad on different os on one machine, hardware seems to be the culprit. but seems like you have a ghost in the machine!
i want to re-iterate what theatheist said.
clean install. i mean clean.
task 29 (tho not sure how useful)
flash back to wm
reformat sdcard - so everything is deleted and it is like it is squeaky new.
then try a rom.
if still weird, try a new sdcard.
sorry, if after completely cleaning / new sdcard/ etc. still with problems, is likely hardware. but i am by no means the end all of knowledge on this!
Thanks again for reply.
This time, when I wrote about .12. radio I've done this:
- task 29
- flash original 3.14 rom
- task 29
- magldr
- cwm
- cwm -> install HyperDroid
And for now it's about 48hr without any major hang, however CalWidget still hangs on occasion.
Nothing left for me but to wait for quad-core device with qwerty.
1- is this the first time you did task 29?
2- did your re-formate your sd card?
curious about #1.
if problems arise, do #2. (what's to lose?)
good luck until the dream phone comes out. ha! cheers, mate. good luck.
1. I've been doing Task29 all the time , I do it every time I need to touch ROM
2. I did
well fingers crossed. i don't know anything more than what you have done. really.
best of luck!
After you have done a clean install as others have posted, and you still have the problem. You might try a new SIM card. I have seen some bad ones causing lockups.
hi,
i´ve many problems with my device.... i tested many many roms of android and wp7 too...
problems are freezes and reboots in every rom... in different roms i have no internet connection or if a call arrives the phone freezes and a robot sound appears...??? sometimes i started the browser and the device reboot...
the next is... the original winmob6.5 stockrom has the same problems... but not too much like android or wp7....
did anyone have an idea...
P.S. i´ve tested 3 different sd cards
thanks
Maybe try doing an RMA?
Device might be the problem.

the guide is a simplified step by step approach
for People on Stock ROM
a. you need to put HSPL on your device
b. A compatible Winmo ROM and Radio
below is a guide on how to achieve this
HSPL is a prerequisite before everything else (Latest version recommended) – video guide here
chose your Android build to download (I know there are plenty of them)
share us your experience with them, different builds have different behaviours
pros and cons.
1. Chose your Android Friendly Custom Winmo ROM and Radio
(preferably the one recommended by the Android Builder)
Video guide for Custom ROM flashing
Video Guide for Radio ROM Flashing
(I prefer the latest 2.15 Radio, most Android Builders recommends
this as well, completely eliminates Robot Voice during calls
2. format at least a 4GB sd card (full format fat32)
(I suggest you use a separate sd card when its your first time testing Android)
3. in the root - create a folder named Android. Place all the unzipped files of the build you've chosen here.
(note some build when unzipped will reveal a folder “Android” - just copy this to the root directory of the sd card instead)
4. with device OFF, insert SDCard
5. boot winmo, disable screen brightness - then go to File Explorer - Storage Card
6. click CLRCAD first (nothing will happen visibly - but it will fix robot like voice while on calls)
5. click/run haret
note with step 5 and 6 (there are plenty of dual bootloaders out
there but i prefer to boot android manually as I THINK, this is the best problem free method

Update: a lot of people has reported being able to run Android without HSPL
so long as they have the Stock 3.14 ROM on their device, I have tested this myself.
needs a bit of attention, any newbie android testers. try this simplified guide.
Custom ROMs and flashing your phone with HSPL is NOT REQUIRED!!!
I have T-Mobile US HD2, Stock ROM/Radio - un-formatted SD card (stock 16GB) - and my Android Froyo works just fine!!!
Therefore, I am not sure of how much of this first half of the Guide is actually going to be used.

Same here, latest stock TMOUS official rom, and running andriod fine from the stock card. Get g-sensor lockups here & there, and robot voice incomming and echo outgoing on calls on Hyperdriod rom, but not on others.
Just DL andriod rom of choice, extract to sd card, and run - see how it works for ya.
Mod Warning
Chaps,
Can we calm it down and post on topic please. Some of you are in breach of the XDA rulebook and I would hate to have to act on it.
Appreciate your cooperation here.

Yes, I did it and running Android without any problems. My HD2 T-MobileUS has the following:
R 2.08.50.08.2
G 15.34.50.070
D 2.10.82076.8G
I did not change anything above and left it as it was when I bought the phone.
I DnLd Android 2.2 en-us Nexus One Build/FRG33 to my SD Card.
I am very pleased with it and really like it as it does seem faster, has many more apps from the Android Store (than WM apps I have found over the years searching the Web) and many are Free. Those that are not free are cheaper than the WM versions.
I did have to transfer my Addresses, Calendar and set up other minor things, no problems.
I am using Android more now than WM. Some of the things that I do not like about Android:
1. Must Power Off and then Power On to get back to WM OS. Whereas going from WM to Android I have an Icon Link. Very time consuming. I tried the Dual boots and still can't get them to work.
2. I would like to uninstall News and Weather but cannot find where it is at as it does not showup when I use AppMonster Pro.
I tried to uninstall AmazonMP3 but it still comes back?
I have uninstalled OpenGlDemos, Abduction, and a few more.
I have tried TaskKill apps and Startup Auditor (Startup Disable and Keep Disabled) and they don't seem to do anything to prevent apps from restarting.
Some of the things I really like about Android:
1. Speed
2. Apps Store (Free Apps) so many (not as many as iTunes but most of what I want and need in a very clean display/format like a lot of Apple apps.)
3. Voice that I use instead of keying in Texting
4. So many more options to customize.
Hope this helps others who are thinking of DnL this OS.

1. just like in windows, apps are always runnin in the background. dont believe me? (cntrl+alt+delete). just because u press 'X' doesnt mean it goes away. android simply got rid of the 'X' cus its not needed. pressing the 'X' is almost like pressing the home button on android.
2. its still in development stage so its gonna take a while longer to get a NAND version of android and then u can boot into winmo with an icon. but i have tested mines with autoboot and it loads in exactly 45 secs from winmo with chuckydroid rom. since ur on the stock rom, its slower.
3. and are u sure ur stock rom is performing okay? no robot voice? alien voice on the other end for the caller? all the features work? gps? bluetooth? etc?
I'm running android on stock tmous pretty well. I do have occasional sleep of death.
I just tried YouTube app and the videos are kind of distorted, dunno if it's cuz of me.

this is a very interesting note, as i have the EU version and just could not run
Android on stock rom WITHOUT HSPL. I have read other US HD2 owners reporting as well.

Yes, I know that WM does not kill all apps when you press 'X'. However, I could kill them and know they were killed.
3. Yes, my stock rom is performing OK. I expected some problems, but have not found any except what I posted. Phone calls, voice, BT all work great.
Thanks for your input.

Again, for your peace of mind, I have a stock rom and I have not put HSPL on my HD2. So, believe me or not. I don't need to lie about something like this. I posted just to let others know that it did work on my STOCK TMOUS HD2.
Hspl is needed only to flash a new radio. It's has been agreed that radios from 2.10 - 2.14 were acceptable radios for Android.
Some stock tmous hd2's come with radio 2.10 already meaning u don't need a radio flash. I'm not sure how u are running on radio 2.08 but more power to u if u are. I'm sure ur running on radio 2.10 not 2.08 tho..........
U might want to make sure that radio isn't draining your battery or whether your getting a robot voice on the caller end of your phone calls.

I have been using Android for about a month now and use my phone, messaging, internet, etc., with no problems. The only problem which I fully understand is the battery drain which I can live with.
My HD2 T-MobileUS has the following:
R 2.08.50.08.2
G 15.34.50.070
D 2.10.82076.8G
I did not change anything above and left it as it was when I bought the phone. I have found over the years flashing my MDA, Wing, Omnia I900 and Jailbreaking my Iphone 3G that sometimes it is not worth changing anything unless you are having problems. Thus, I no longer change stock roms.
Yes, I do still use my Iphone 3G with 3.0.1 and my Omnia. However, the HD2 with Android is far better than any phone with WM for many reasons.
Some of the things that I do not like about Android:
1. Must Power Off and then Power On to get back to WM OS. Whereas going from WM to Android I have an Icon Link. I tried the Dual boots and still can't get them to work. Now I use ReBoot and it does shut down and restart in WM. No problem for me as I live with it.
2. I would like to uninstall News and Weather but cannot find where it is at as it does not showup when I use AppMonster Pro.
3. I don't like the way 3D Gallery brings up all phots, Icons, etc. I have tried StudioKUMA .nomedia Manager and .NoMedia that tagged my folders, which I did so individually, and caused me to disable my ringtones.
I am trying Startup Manager, too.

if you meant the Sense integration of news and weather, i doubt if you can uninstall this
but you can disable this by selecting it not to sync in settings
For the record, I tried many different builds with stock TMOUS ROM and Radio, and I would always get SODs within a few days. Finally changed Radio and ROM and I have been trying every build out there with only a few problems.
An interesting point to consider is that some people have problems with particular builds whereas others don't. For example, the most stable build I've tried is Sergio76's Coredroid, but other people have complained that it's very buggy. For some reason this may be similar to why some people can run Android on stock ROM and Radio, but others can't? Just a thought.

this is the main reason, there is no particular best build to recommend, as there are
too many variables to consider, as with the TMOB US brand HD2, many have even confirmed
that they dont need hspl to run Android. another thing is the Radio, which
also plays a huge role.
so my new untouched htc hd2 is coming on wed, so i can just put an android build on my sd card and run android without the hspl thing or a custom rom?? is this correct??

at least dats wat dat guy says. id still reccomend you do the method the rest of us do but its your choice.
OK, here is my problem.
UK HD2 -> Generic running 1.66 stock, with HSPL 2.08, and Radio 2.12.50.02.
I have been running many of the different Android builds on my phone since the first one came out with no problems, until now...
My phone will not run any of the new ones at all. They give the instruction to leave on first boot to create the data store, takes about 5-10min. I have left my phone for hours with a faded black screen, with a few lines on it, but it never gets any further than that.
Have tried:
Mattc Leo + Froyo 1.5*, 1.6*, 1.7 and 1.8
Mattc Evo 1.0.1
Mattc NexusLeo 1.1
Mdeejay Froyo Sense 2.2
Mdeejay eVo 1.0
FroyoStone Sense 1* and 2
Darksotne HD2Froyo 2.1*
Darkstone DesireROM 2*, 3*, 4* and 5*
*= ones that have worked
It seems to me that something has changed with all the newer ROMS that are stopping them from working for me. I have format my SD every time i try a new ROM and have even hard reset my WinMo to see if that the problem -> Nothing works!
As Marvin would say: "I just want you to know, i am feeling very depressed today"
Help please

show us your step by step procedure in running android, so people when they see it may know at which point you may be making an error.
also, after reading this
post, I came to the conclusion that indeed many left
over junks in winmo are messing up the process of Android running, so I took it to mean that we have to do a Task 29 every time we try a build.
make sure the android build is in a folder marked android the older roms went on the root of the sd! another thing is when haret boots see if the writing says failer to mount sd and get back to me or pm me well figure it out!!
Definitely task29 that sucker. Also consider a "meant for android" WM rom like chuckydroid. Radio 2.14 is now available if you want to try something else.

Yeah, I was going to suggest task 29 and then reinstall a different WM Rom.
I am using the 2.14 radio with great results.....
Good Luck.
try new sd card
I can understand your frustration, If the task 29 alone does not help, I would get a new sd card, I have read its best to long format card, task 29 phone, install your windows rom of choice( I like chuckys android), then install android. good luck
Steps taken so far
Ok, first off, Thank you all for your responses!!!!
Was expecting to get flamed, as i had searched the forums and could not find anything myself but expected there to be something somewhere, that somebody knew about.
With the older ROMS that are stored on the root of SD, i formatted the SD and copied the data over using SD adaptor in my MacBook Pro's SD slot -> Worked like a charm!!
With the newer ones, that have worked anyway the procedure was the same, format SD and copy Android folder over from Mac -> again worked like a champ!
But now with these new ones i have tried the old methods of format and copy using SD adaptor, tried formatting and coping the Android folder on to the phone using the USB connection on the phone, tried renaming the "Android" folder "android".
I have not updated or changed the WinMo ROM, but i have reloaded it, when i found out about this problem. I task 29 and then reflashed with the stock 1.66 and still no dice.
Step by step for last ones i have tried:
1. Power off phone and remove battery (not needed i know but hay)
2. Remove SD card and put in SD adaptor
3. Insert into Mac and format card Fat (Mac Fat = Win Fat32)
4. Unarchive Android ROM and copy to SD - (/StorageCard/Android)
5. After copy complete wait for 5min then eject SD (i like to make sure there is nothing in the buffer)
6. Put into phone, put battery in and power up (normally with the battery cover off lol)
7. Wait for the unfortunate Windows logo and phone to boot up ("Launching HTC Sense" seems to take forever)
8. As soon as phone started either run the Android icon from Sense or open File Explorer and run both programs
9. HeRET starts, screen goes black see txt (guess bootloader loading the kernel) for 1 second then screen fades to black with faint lines running down it (backlight on very dull)
10. Wait...wait...wait (Mattc Leo Froyo 1.8 waited 20min, then fell asleep and when i awoke 5hours later it was still the same)
I dont get it, so to recap i have formatted my SD every-time i have tried, i have task29 my phone about a week ago, tried many of the ROMS on here and nothing, i have tried one of the old ones and that works though!!!!
Arrrgg, Please somebody point out what stupid thing i am doing wrong.
"Even the doors don't like me!"
Could this be it?
I have spent more time reading forums and such like, could it be due to the fault described here in this post?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8264796
If you are using a standard stock 1.66 rom your radio may not be compatable. I had the same issue to start off with. Would boot half way then die. I upgraded my radio now using 2.14 and can boot no problem at all.

5. After copy complete wait for 5min then eject SD (i like to make sure there is nothing in the buffer). . . . .

I have experimented with Stock UK WWE 1.66 about two weeks ago, and no matter
what Radio and HSPL I put on it, once I clicked on Haret, it goes exactly like you describe it
White faint lines all over the screen which seems like very fine drops of rain.
you can always try Winmo ROMs specifically made to be Android friendly.
also it would be valuable if you read this Thread read
at least the first and 13th post
Hi, I'm thinking of trying out Android, preferably Froyo, on my UK o2 HD2 which I've had for almost a year now.
My current ROM (1.72.206.3) is the most recent, stock o2 upgrade from the HTC Europe site which came with radio version 2.07.51.22_2.
Have any other o2 users tried, hopefully with some success, to run Android from their SD card using just the above ROM and radio versions? If so, what build of Android would you recommend?
Alternatively, if only a flashed non-stock ROM and HSPL installation will make this work, what would be my best way forward to safeguard my warranty and ensure I dont brick my beloved HD2?
Soz to sound like a noob but I've searched this forum but can't find any o2 specific threads like this one - plus I've been looking around XDA, HTCPedia, YouTube (where I can only find people with US T-Mobile handsets, not the European/UK model) et al for a few days now and feel like I'm just going in circles!
Many thanks for any help that might be forthcoming.
I'm on O2 UK.
I couldn't get Android to boot on Radio 2.07, so I installed HSPL 2.08 and flashed Radio 2.15. I kept the stock O2 1.72 ROM from the HTC website, and it works fine.
I'd recommend Bangsters build if you don't want a Sense-based build, or either FroyoStone or mdeejay's Froyo HD or Froyo Sense builds if you do want Sense.
Blimey, I didn't expect such a prompt reply but that's brilliant.
I wish I had raised my question a couple of days ago, as I've been trawling the internet for suggestions for a few days now, so many thanks for that.
I've already installed a dual-boot app so will install your recommended software tomorrow.
PS - I hope this is of help to others out there too.
Hi, I have a HTC HD2 but mine is out of warranty anyway so here it goes,
HSPL 2.08,
Windows ROM "Miri and Dinik V19",
radio 2.12,
sense android rom Mdeejay Evo warm V1.1 with the latest r7.6 kernel,
Non-sense android rom latest Biff froyo rom based on CM6 V1.0 with the same r7.6 kernel,
I do bump into some occasional problems with android but nothing major, hope this helps.
it's all over the forum, but keep in mind you need at least a radio 2.08 to run android. oh, and for a non-sense build, i'd like to recommend hyperdroid v1.6
welcome to android! The way the HD2 is meant to be
latest radio is 2.15, update your hspl to the highest.
This might be personal preferrence but i find desire roms run better on my phone than evo roms
Im using NDeeJays 3.6 Desire HD rom, this rom is now fast and stable with the latest features, it is however lacking the camera and ereader...if you can live with out these, its the best option in my opinion.
If you need your camera have a look at shu8is SHUBcraft 1.5 CM6 final. It is due an update soon as dev has been away for a while but that rom is rock solid and i used as my only rom until i upgraded to the desire HD rom.
Okay, so at the expense of sounding like a numpty, it appears I need to do the following:
1. Sync my phone with my PC as usual.
2. Copy a version of my current 1.72 o2 ROM to my SD card (not sure where in particular though - in the root maybe?) having renamed it leoimg.nbh so that I can uninstall HSLP should I brick my phone and need to return it to o2 under warranty.
3. Install HSPL 2.08 or higher. I have HSLP3-PKG on my desktop ready for this purpose, so hope this should suffice.
4. Once the HD2 restarts then install a new radio ROM, version 2.08 or higher (I have 2.15 ready to go)
5. Reboot the phone again and create a folder called Android in the root of my SD card, and copy over my choice of Android software to same.
6. Restart the phone yet again, navigate using file explorer to the Android folder then run CLRCAD.EXE and thereafter run HaRet.exe, then wait a few mins for android to launch on my HD2.
It all sounds (too) straightforward in hindsight. Even though I've managed to install the brilliant CHTEditor and more on my phone and tweak the registry to some extent, somehow the installation of android seemed quite daunting until now. But I'll give it a go asap and, in the meantime, thanks to those of you who have taken the trouble to contribute to this thread and help me out.
Cheers!
Hey
I am like yourself on HD2 O2 UK. My current setup is in my signature. What I have found though is no matter what setup/android rom I use, I always get regular drop in data. I don't know if any other setup has worked for any of the users where they have no interruptions with data.
May I also suggest getting a task killer and setcpu from market for help with decent battery life.
Nik
Up until recently I always used RMNET builds as the data is much more reliable. However, i upgraded to 2.15 radio and this seems to have virtually eliminated PPP disconnects for me.
Thanks, i will give that a try.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Hey dazzyb2k3
May I ask what RMNET rom do you use?
Nik
Hi, just to say that I managed to install HSPL and radio ROM 2.15 and FroYo was running v.nicely thank you... up until I had an error message advising that "LauncherPro beta has expired" and asks that I download an updated version - which is not easy given that all the phone will let me do is go into either Silent or Airplane mode, reboot or power off (!)
I see that other FroYo users have reported this issue as a major pain in the arse, so I'm trying to see how I can overcome this issue at the mo. However, I'd suggest that others bear this in mind when choosin which Android software to download (plus the fact that, at the mo, I still prefer my HD2's WinMo 6.5, HTC Sense and CHTEditor after all!)

Yes! This is all correct! except don't name it leoimg.nbh, until you want to flash it back to stock (rare ;P) otherwise it will flash it everytime you enter bootloader!

Are you using Shubcraft?
If so, there's a fix for that here.....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8698216&postcount=7589
Sorry, should have mentioned earlier that I was using a download called Mattcfroyosense1.7ppp for my Android set-up, and I presume this incorporates an (out-of-date?) loader to kick-start things.
I only installed it late Weds evening and all seemed fine for 36hrs till this confounded error msg started appearing.
Any suggestions? (my first thought is to delete the Andoid folders from my SD card and start from scratch, and maybe download the LauncherPro upgrade asap from Marketplace should it srin back to life..?)
There is a version 1.8 if i'm not mistaken http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=736545
Although I haven't used any other build than darkstones sense builds so never used launcher pro, can you not uninstall launcher pro and use sense as mattc's is a sense build?
Btw, I have looked up that link you kindly supplied and it looks promising (in fact I have found LauncherPro-0.8.1.1 which I hops should be up to the job) but I'm sorry to say that I'm dumbfounded as to where to install it on my device or storage card - the link supplied suggests I need to "make a new directory named "app" in your /root/system/ directory, then copy the Launcher Pro app that I attached to this message to your /root/system/app/ directory. Then reboot and everything should be OK" but I just cannot locate the appropriate folders to drop this .apk file into...
i only stumbled across this today trying to fix the HTC camera issue.
The way i accessed it was to download "super manager" from the market place and used its file manager. The root is actually a higher level than the sd card which can only be accessed with a root file manager.
There is another way to "push" it but thats a bit beyond my knowledge if i'm honest.
Yay! People from the UK on O2
Its such a pain that the search won't let you use 'UK' and 'O2'
What are people using at the moment then?
I'm using,
radio: 2.15.50.14
wm: Energy Rom 21683
Android: FroyoStone Sense - V3.2
I get music stuttering with the above, regular data drops and BSOD every so often on a restart
I then upgraded the kernel to hastarin r8
The only thing I get now is absolutly no data! everything else is perfect though
I tried this ril wrapper for pppd disconnections, new v0.3 but now I get no data and no signal either
What have you guys got?
I would have posted links to all the above but apparently I''m not allowed
I'm also having no data problems on my o2-uk hd2. it was a lot better with old builds.
Hey all,
I'm usually pretty good at figuring these types of things out, but unfortunately I haven't been able to figure this one out yet.
Wifi works fine in WinMo 6.5 and WinPhone 7. I haven't tried SD version of Android, but I'd rather not go that route as I want to be able to use a fully functioning NAND version of Android.
I have done Task29/wipe data/cache/dalvik cache on many occasions, repartitioned, reinstalled WinMo 6.5 and then started over with MAGLDR (latest version), replaced wifi module libraries, but nothing has proven to work. Everything else is perfect, though.
Somebody has to have experienced this before? I couldn't find much in terms of a solution by searching.
Thanks!
What HD2 Radio version are you using?
What Android ROM are you using?
Have you made sure that it is a MAGLDR version you are trying to install, not the cLK version?
Why would you need to replace the WiFi module librarys as your ROM should work without error after installation?
A bit more info and we should be able to sort this one out!

Hey. Thanks for joining!
- Radio 2.15.50.14 and one of the older ones which was installed when I picked up this phone
- Roms:
NDT MIUI Froyo V6.2 currently.
Tried [CWR] BOYPPC-SHIFTPDA_GINGER 2.3.4-Sense.s V29 (12.Jun), CMYLXGO's Stock Desire HD(2) NAND ROM v1.1.17 and a few others i can't remember. All MAG versions.
I tried replacing the libs, because i've read that as part of a fix for related wifi problems from earlier this year.
Thanks!

You have the most common Radio 2.15.50.14 so that isn't the problem.
The fix is mainly for cLK versions so it could use the PPP interface but if you are using MAGLDR then that isn't needed - this alone could be your problem, I reccomend not installing this patch any more?!
I play with roms a lot and normally my errors are due to using a kernel which the rom wasn't developed for - or more recently, frequent drops to the internet.
When my drops happened, I had done nothing different but it seems that a change in CM7 source now addressed my routers security settings differently - I have no idea when it was added and I was lucky enough to find a firmware update for my router which solved the problem.
Out of interest, when you click on wifi, does it say error or does it try to connect and randomly drop? Error would indicate a kernel/radio/hardware problem and dropping or not connecting would possibly indicate router problem.
Possibly, one of the best places to start is the security settings of your router, disable all security and see if it will connect... if it does then apply security - I use WPA2 PSK TKIP and it now works for me!
NDT MIUI Froyo V6.2 & CMYLXGO's Stock Desire HD are quite old (In terms of development), BOYPPC-SHIFTPDA_GINGER 2.3.4-Sense.s V29 is new and updated frequently so i'm unsure why all would have the same problem?!?!.
You could also try my rom located in my signature "HardDroid2" as I have extensively tested this and have no problems (Not trying to punt my rom at all!).
If changing your router settings or no other roms work then it is beyond me as there are only a few combinations af possible hardware/software faults!
Hope this helps
Already installed Is the phone supposed to boot in Airplane mode enabled for the first boot?
Ok, unfortunately the same issue with WiFi. What happens when i turn wifi on is it takes about 15 seconds for the check to appear in the box, then it stays on for about 15 more seconds with no networks showing, then it turns off automatically. The same thing with every rom I've tried, unless I start messing with libs or conf files at which point I get "error" or it doesn't turn on at all.
Thanks!

Ummmm... NOPE!
I think your problem is with your radio rom. I would reccomend starting from scratch!
This is what I do and it works fine for me:
Prep SD Card: Format FAT32 and also create a 1GB Ext3 Partition (For apps2SD if needed)
Copy the rom update.zip to FAT32 partition of SD Card & Insert into phone.
Run HSPL3_PKG.exe and install HSPL 2.08
Flash Radio_Leo_2.15.50.14
Run Task 29 - wipe phone
Install MAGLDR 1.1.3
start device (Hold down power button until menu list appears) choose USB Flasher
Install Recovery 150MB System/5MB Cache (ClockworkMod Recovery v4.0.0.0)
Start MAGLDR (Hold down power button until menu list appears) Select "AD Recovery"
Boot ClockworkMod and install update.zip from SD Card.
I'm not trying to teach you how to suck eggs... but maybe there is a little step you may of missed?!?!?

I would reccomend re-downloading the files, especially the radio rom as I have a feeling it may be corrupted - don't know why it would work on WP7 though??
Use the HSPL3_PKG.exe to install HSLP 2.08 as it is regarded as the best.
I use Loader 2.10 KSubedi (MAGLDR 1.1.3 Debranded) just for asthetic reasons.
We will get there!!! lol
Same deal, unfortunately. I've noticed that the mac address is "unavailable" at all times, including the 10 secs the wifi is actually on (according to the switch)

Did you re-download the radio from here?: http://www.multiupload.com/QP0IWGY42F
I don't understand why your wifi works under wm6.5 (which installs during flashing rom) & WP7 (which runs the same way as android nand) but not under android... I would of classed it as a corrupted file and im completely at a loss!!!!
It can't be a hardware fault and there isn't any differences in earlier/later versions of the HD2's wifi module!!!
OK, I admit it.... I'm stumped!

If you install the latest rom and then task 29, you still have the radio version which installed with the rom as task 29 doesn't touch that section!
I remember a couple of years ago when I changed the wifi module on a PSP that it no longer held a mac address when using original Sony firmware... has your device been in for repair?
Just a thought really, i'm grabbing at straws since it really doesn't make sense to me!

I'm not sure about its history as I bought it used. Tomorrow is another day with more opportunities to resolve this issue.
Nothing changed by me installing a stock T-mobile WinMo 6.5 then going through the process of converting to NAND android. I found out that I'm not able to save a manual Wi-Fi network entry. Maybe this is a clue for the problem?
Thanks!

Well looking into the kernel, it seems that it will create a custom MAC address for each device to get past the 00:11:22:33:44:55 issue (I don't know what variables it would use to create this but possibly imei???)
There are no really adjustable settings in wpa_supplicant.conf which would help (As far as I can see)
Since you aren't showing a MAC address, it would indicate a problem with your hardware (as no other device has this problem) But why Windows roms would still work is beyond me and the only change in hardware revisions over the life of the HD2 has been to the lcd screen and not the radio hardware.
I have searched and tried to find more information on this but i'm unable to find a conclusive answer or solution
Here is a thought: Download the files which I use from here: http://www.andbuddy.com/files/FOBBu1308083933.html
This contains all the files which I use and a small guide - Please follow ALL the steps as this has given me a 100% working device!

If by MTTY you mean something like a Task 29 to wipe the device it probably will not help. If your device is overheating and several roms exhibit the same problem you may have a hardware problem..

Restarts and lockups are very different from overheating. Do you know how many bad blocks your device has? What size partitions did you create and which install (1, 2 or 3)?

- My device doesn't has bad block, i have followed the instructions by AngelDeath in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1189544.
- I was partition 320mb NAND memory with 5mb cache and install on NAND with DataOnEXT (type 2). Everything still works normally until now, no more freeze, no more auto restart (only gps hangs when i use Gmap to access my location = hardware failure).
- I think, my device hang in call because i have installed RamManagerPro v4.1.2. before, perhaps it isn't compatible with my device.
Damn, It happened again when i take a call over 20 minutes. This is no hope, exactly hardware problem :crying:
