CF Root 4.0 (KE7) & Battery drain - Galaxy S II General

Last night I updated from v3.6 to v4.0 (KE7) CF Root only to find that when I unplugged my SGS2 from the wall charger this morning with 100% battery, by the time lunch time had come I was down to 38% with limited use.
On v3.6 battery was fine (the usual daily drain), but with the update to v4.0 being the only modification in software over the past 24hours I can't put it down to anything else.
Battery stats only reveal a 47% drain through the screen, 8% wifi and 8% Word with Friends.
Everything else I have installed on the phone is stock.
Could it be v4.0 (KE7)?

I have the KF1 version and I have the same problem.

I'm going to bet that it is CF Root v4.0. I have messaged Chainfire, but I have a feeling I'm not the only one who has.

I just flashed back to v3.6 (KE7) so I can get some battery back whilst I wait for an update to CF Root.
Let me know if you get any success?!

So did going back to 3.6 help your battery life at all? Or did you just have a battery callibration issue?

I am a smartphone noob and generally still learning this stuff so its only an assumption! Forgive me xD
Villain Rom 1.1 no CF, was flashed with Odin:
Battery at 62% after 4Days and 5 Hours with almost no use (had to test xD) apart from 15 mins Music and 30mins Wifi.
After that when i updated to Villain Rom 1.2 and then to 1.4 a few days after which required the CF root, i noticed the drain while idle is bigger.
I can only compare it this way.
Sleeping 8h with Villain Rom 1.1 and no root: Lost barely 2%
4d 5h after without touching it for more than as i mentioned above Battery at 62%.
Sleeping 8h with Villain Rom 1.2 (1.4) and CF root:Lost 4%
So ye there is a slight change -.-.
As example as i did this post, i put the phone down after charging it and to test new stuff (Still searching apps, games etc), left it at 86% at ~4am, at 8:30am when i woke up it was at 84%.
Anyways as i said, only an assumption plus i need the 10 post count to ask pulser in his rom thread, so -.-

Kernel and a Better Battery?

Hey all right now I'm running geeknik's 1.2.3 UV kernel and I'm trying to maximize battery life. Heres what I've got going on:
I'm deodexed not running any ROM just removed all the bloat.
I've underclocked to 800mhz running conservative from SetCPU
I'm also running matted blue them.
Running D101 system.
My battery still seems to go down at a pretty fast pace even with all this. About 5% for every 30 min of light browsing, texting, and forum surfing. I've charged all the way to 100% and cleared the battery stats from CWM (I didn't see any confirmation, should I have??) So what should I do to get the best battery? TIA!!
I had that too. wipinh battery stats didnt do anything. Now I use the clean dj05 with stupidfast 1.5.4. Very good improvement imho
I'm getting the best battery life using JT's SuperClean and the stock kernel. Less than 1% per hour in standby, and the phone lasts 36+ hours with average use. I've tried other kernals (JT's non-voodoo and StupidFast), and neither provided any noticeable increase in performance while both reduced battery life considerably (no offense to the revs, just my experience).
Well after doing more test I'm sticking with the stock kernel. My battery is still draining about 10% for every hour.. not even doing anything. I appreciate the work of devs but when it doesn't work it doesn't work...
I would definitely follow ChrisDDD's advice. I put the exact same setup on my phone a week ago and its amazing. I took my phone off the charger at 3pm yesterday and its 1040pm over a day later with 65% left. Thats with heavy texting. Before i rooted and installed this rom and kernal i got a little under a day per charge. Just do the clean rom and the stable kernal (11/11).
Remember when you wipe battery stats, do it with a FULL charge, then let it run out to zero before you plug it back in. THEN check to see what kind of battery life you're getting.

[Q] CyanogenMod 7|SwiftDroid(v2.0 RC4)Battery draining EXTREMELY FAST! HELP!

The title is self explanatory.. ever since i switched from cyanogen 6 2.2 to cyanogen 7 / mur4iks swiftdroid 2.0 / Gingerbread 2.3.5 (current latest version) My batterys been draining in under 20minutes from 100% to 60% and and i saw the possible fix where you drain the phone until the phone completely refuses to turn on , then charge it for over 6 hours until 100% and then go Clockwork Recovery Mod and Swiping Battery Stats but it hasnt really helped.... has anyone else had this problem? is there like a permanent way of fixing this as it is a really wonderful rom and id hate going back to CM6.2 android 2.2 ...

Broken battery
It could be a problem with your battery.
I have similar observation. Yes, I do overclock (to 800MHz) and I do have 3G connectivity. But with earlier RC-s in similar conditions the full charge was enough for about two days. Now battery overnight goes from 90% down to 60%.
Fluctuations
My battery level fluctuates when it gets low (from 0% to 20% and back) D:
The results are different every time I flash a ROM.
yes i over clock but when i said battery draining extremely fast i mean ridiculously and when you put it on charge for example it goes in a matter of seconds from 8% to 29% then 30% then 50% and stops u take the charge out and it goes back down to like 10% in a matter of like 5 seconds ... the battery last like 2 hours and before flashinsg gingerbread it lasted a gd 5-6 hours with overclocking and moderate use ...

short battery life with CM7

I am running CM7 on a D2 and i am experiencing pretty short battery life. I went from Liberty 2.0 rom on froyo last week, and upgraded to GB and flashed CM7.
I have barely used it much today for example. Took it off the charger at 6:30am have done nothing more than sent a few texts and browsed a website for about 10 mins. It is 10:30 and i am already at 70%
I did a proper battery stat reset this past weekend also.
(i have also been getting a lot of random force closes)
since i cannot post pics here's relevant info...
Android version - 2.3.5
Kernel Version - 2.6.32.9-gca08d89
Mem Info - 214/475
Mod version - CyanogenMod-7.1.0-RC0-DROID2-KANG
Build Number - GRH78C
Battery info...
Display - 42%
Phone Idle - 18%
Cell Standby - 15%
everything else is under 8%, Android OS and System at 2%
CM7 GB Battery Issues
I am having this problem as well. Ever since I rooted and installed Rev's CM7 GB build a few days ago battery life has been much worse. I tried installing Jake's Mods V13 but if it is helping it is not helping alot. Yesterday, made 2 short phone calls, sent 3-4 texts, browsed web for maybe 10 minutes total, and was on tweetdeck for maybe 15 minutes. By end of the day was down to 30% battery. Pre-root and CMY probably would have been about 60% - 70%. Here are the battery stats when plugged it in at bed time last night:
15h 16m 23s on battery
Cell Standby 55%
Phone Idle 19%
Display 13%
Voice Calls 9%
Android OS 2%
TweetDeck 2%
Has anyone figured out a solution to this? Really liking CM7 but I am afraid to play a game or something on the phone because I'm afraid I will run out of juice!
CM7 does have a shorter battery life than stock and some other ROMs. It's still the best ROM and it will eventually be back to better battery life. I use SetCPU and JuiceDefender.
Should I go into the CPU settings on my phone to find ways to increase my battery life? If so, which setting should I alter?
I have been using the 1Ghz/undervolt option in Jakebitesmod along with Juice Defender and it seems to be helping. Battery will usually last me all day with moderate use.
You might want to try SBFing back and starting from scratch. I was on Liquid 3.0 and has atrocious battery life due to the 'Idle' process and was seeing 10-15% battery life drop each hour when there was absolutely no use.
I switched to CM7 and things were much happier. Maybe 10% loss after 4 hours idle. FB app did drain the battery once but I think I backed out of it while it was loading so it was trying to load GPS or something but outside of that no battery life problems what so ever.

Battery drain.

I love my "Note" after 4 year under Apple.
But it drain the battery to fast.
Yesterday I installed kernel Abyss 1.4 and after 15 hours I still got 69% left.
The day before I drain it self out after 8 hours at work.
I can't understand that it can help so much just to install new kernel and do nothing else. ( my first tweak)
And still people complain about battery drain on V 1.4. I'm not sure if I dear to download V 1.5 since I'm so happy.
( Nine post to go
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
You are right about that. ( Helt enig med deg Viking ).

[Q] Battery Life with CM7 Barebones

Hello,
I have received my Kindle 4 days ago. Rooted, backup-ed in the next hour and I installed CM7 Barebones edition, a very nice ROM.
After 2 days of intensive use, I found that the battery life in use is very reasonable, but in sleep mode without wifi, no sync and only the core services of android, i notice a 2% battery loss by hour. In the "battery use" menu in parameters, the process "when phone is idle" take me about 10% of battery. I intend to test with or without airplane mode and the battery consumption is about the same.
So my question for the other users of this rom : are you experiencing the same levels of battery consumption in sleep mode ?
Thank you by advance ...

Honestly haven't tired the Bare Bones ROM but I have the WhistleStop CM7 ROM and the Skimp Killah Super Kang CM7 ROM and both are great. I know Whistlestops version gets great battery life with almost no drain in sleep mode. I can sleep all night and only lose 1% with it. Just trying out the SKSK. I'll let you know.
I personally have not extensively tested the battery life of the rom I built (CM7 barebones). I do know the battery for me has no problem lasting a full day, which is fine for my need's. You could always flash over the stock kernel (which I will attach to this post) and compare the two. The current kernel in use is a intersectRaven build (20120110_1106 I think but am unsure). It is still being developed so battery life will likely just get better.
But anyway. Check the attachments on this post for the stock CM7 kernel built 02-01-2012. Also note, the stock kernel is not overclocked. It's default speed is 1008Mhz, where as Raven's is set to 1.2Ghz.
Ok ... indexa question for the whistletop rom, do you put the kf in airplane mode ? When i did not it seek for a signal and eat some power ....
Sent from my Kindle Fire (CM7).

I've notice a similar thing with the battery life. Prior to this ROM I was using whistletop's ROM with no battery loss while the device was sleeping. So as Takenover83 indicated, it's more likely to be an issue with intersectRavens kernal.
No problem, I can live with it for now. I love the responsiveness of this ROM, Thanks Takenover83.
I left my device alone for a little over ~10.5hours. Only thing I turned off was wifi. Note, I have a crap load of app's installed.
After 10 hours, I had 90% battery. So that's roughly 1 percent per hour, which I can live with. This was On Demand 300/1200.
Yeah I noticed a significant drain in battery loss. This morning my kindle was completely dead and when I got it charged I had some serious problems. It seemed wifi stopped working. I was able to connect but none of my google apps couldn't connect.
