Video Player with "Windowed Mode?" - Eee Pad Transformer General

Is there a video player for Android 3.x (my Transformer) that allows you to play videos in "Windowed Mode" so that the video is not always stretched to fit the full screen?
Thanks!

Playing movies and other videos on the Nexus One

What method do recommend in playing movies and other videos on the Nexus One from what files to play, how to transfer them to the phone, and how to play them on the phone.
I browse my movie files on Astro file manager or the stock Gallery app. NemoPlayer browses music nicely too. However, a dedicated movie player would be nice.
I also noticed that it doesn't play all of my videos. It's probably because of the resolution.
I use the paid for version of Act1. The program from what i see only plays video. The program tells you what time it is ie. real time. it also tells you how much battery power you have left as well. When you open the program it tells you what files on the phone/SD card that can be played. What i do is make sure the video file i have is already in HD most of the time 720p or 1080p. I use WinX Video Converter to convert the file to MP4. I set the res to 800x480. The video file plays with no skipping and no problems. The picture also looks really nice as well. If i had to answer your problem about it not playing the file i would say that is before the file is not support by the N1. I believe just MP4 and H.264 are the only supported files. It plays the same thing a Iphone can play and a Itouch pretty much.
Is there anyway to play files other than mp4. Such as wmv?
Someone knows how you can watch a full screen video in the stock video player without the black bands?
Other phones (HTC Hero for example) have a button on the player to resize the video.
Thx

Click to collapse
The default player won't do it. Act1 has a full screen option and it's a great app, as the previous poster detailed.
Thx! good player

TV Catchup doesn't work

I have just tried m.tvcatchup.com (UK only) on my Tab and the Samsung video player won't play the live TV streams, it works fine on my Desire with stock video player, the Tab says "this video cannot be played"
any ideas for a solution?
I don't want to use the full site as the flash video doesn't use the full screen like a video player does
Try vplayer alpha from the market.

Video Full Screen? How?

Am I just missing something? When I watch a video in the native player it only lets me watch it in the native resolution and not make it full screen. Is there a way to make movies full screen with the stock movie player?
I am trying to figure out the same thing. I even tried using third party video player like rock player but no full screen in some videos. My .mp4 are fine but I can't seem to get full screen in .flv and .mkv
Rock player lite works for me, but I really would like this to work with the native player.
Before my Tab died on me I used Vital Player... and it worked perfectly...

Screenshot (screen capture) when playing a video

Ok, I need to capture a screenshot of a video, but all I get is a black screen. Is there a way to capture the screen when playing a video?
The standard player doesn't support this and neither does Moboplayer. Is there a video player that supports this?
Already found a player that does this. Vital Player

subtitles via HDMI on TV?

Hi all
I wolud like to ask you have I can see subtitles via HDMI conector on my TV? I can see just video without subtitle. Subtitles are just in S2 screen but no in my TV screen. I tried mvideo player and Rock plazer but still the same....
subtitles
Hi,
Subtitles are presented only on the phone screen because they are rendered for the phone display.
In order for the subtitles to be shown on the screen i guess the video player must have support for rendering the subtitles over HDMI as an overlay (similar to how streamers do this).
I suggest sending an email to the video player developer for more details...
Thanks,
Do you know any player which can do it?
You have two options:
a) Use a video player with software decoding (MoboPlayer).
b) Extract the subs (what format are they in) to the same directory as the video and name it the same as the vid, and the stock video player will play the subtitles (with annoying transparency). If you don't see them, press Menu while a video is playing and you will see the subs setting.
I've tried a for awhile now on ways to get around this, but these are easiest ones. The other options would be to either stream the video from your PC to your phone (not viable for me as HD vids lag on my connection, but ymmv) or hardsub the videos yourself (would take about an hour or 2 depending on the size).
Oki i will try... Tx
