Anyone know how to increase the font size in email.apk for 345? I just want to increase email and nothing else.
thanks
Try K-9, it supports font size and pinch zoom.
Agreed, a third party email client like k9 is probably a much easier work around.
so on my quest to find a aosp version of mail that has font size changes... I determined that you can pretty much take any email.apk from any froyo rom and overwrite the one you have... reboot... then go and install the apk...
I have gotten some added features like changing the color of the email account and what to do after reading an email....
however no font changes.....
I was playing for my realred rom I am still working on.

A new paid app. on the market (€0.99) can increase the font size throughout your system. It's still in beta and the author advises a nandroid backup before you start.
It's called Font Size.
1) Rooted phones only
2) my nexus one rebooted twice before it settled down, but it's working fine now.
3) Some apps -- e.g. titanium backup don't work perfectly in harmony with it, but, so far, they do work.
Anyway, good luck.
I just want to increase SMS fonts
Don't think it can do that, I'm afraid. The SMS font on my phone is now larger, but so are all the other ones!

Dear all,
I am having problem with the font size of message thread view since updating to Gingerbread, the font size is now quite big.
Is there any way to decrease it?
PS: I search the forum and try to find settings in the phone, but could not get one solutions.
Thanks you in advance.
Fantisto
I was also looking for some settings on this but with no luck, maybe just install Handcent and be done with it eh XD
I think the font size is standard among their current devices, for better visibility

It can only be done by decompiling the apk and changing some xml values.
If anyone is interested, I can do it pretty easily.
Just send me the apk.
If u've got root you can make everything on ur phone smaller.
Edit /system/build.prop
Change ro.sf.lcd_density=240 to
ro.sf.lcd_density=200
It may cause some graphical glighes in badly programmed apps that expect the same screen size including some of the android pop up boxes and some stock SE apps. For example gaps may appear or not all the screen is used but most apps work fine and its def worth it for me at least.
Everything (font) seems to be fine besides message threadview... It cannot fit many message in one screen...

This is an issue that I have had since I got the phone.
As I have gotten older, my eyes have gotten worse, so I need glasses to read small print. I can read my text messages just fine, but I have trouble reading many of my emails. The font is just too small. This stinks, since I don't carry reading glasses around. I contacted Samsung customer service about how to increase the size of the font, and they said that it cannot be done. The size of the font is set in stone. I do not believe this is a problem on other Samsung Galaxy S phones, and from I can tell the new Froyo update did not provided a fix.
Anyone else find this annoying? Anyone know of a way to get around this problem. Too bad you can't tap the screen to enlarge the font.

All i can think of is changing the screen density, but...will also make parts of the screen not visible, so if you do go this route, only do increments of 10, i am not sure if our phone supports font swap but i will look into it asap.

Pat tried to change the screen density, in Miunia and it had all sorts of wierd consequences. Not to mention, you'd have to be rooted, and edit build prop to do it. It might be easier (If you are rooted) to get into the apk and change the font sizes in drawable. How large do you want it? And are you rooted? If so, I'll see about decompiling and tweaking it. Also, which e'mail app are you referring to? stock e'mail, or Gmail or what?
Email font
Yes, I am rooted.
I an using the email client provided by Verizon. It connects to my pop3 accounts As far as font size 10 would be good 12 would be better. Getting a new email app might work. Are you using one that allows enlarging of the font. Can you recommend an email app that enlarges the font?
Hello XDA,
I've just got a Note 3, and of course the first order of business was a custom ROM. I've settle on Dr. Ketan's simply because I like how he has already done all of the work for me to change the DPI, which is something I've never done on my other Androids, but it really makes the Note 3 a lot better.
However, I'm having a funny issue with E-Mail related to the DPI setting (email, not gmail). I have the ROM installed at 320 DPI, and E-Mail all looks fine there. However, if I change the DPI to, say 360 (which is what I'd probably prefer given that my eyes aren't what they used to be), the E-Mails all look fine, except when I go to reply to an email, the font is ridiculously huge. I've tried this a number of ways, such as re-flashing the ROM with a different DPI, or leaving the ROM at 320 and using XPosed app settings to set a custom DPI for E-Mail, and it happens regardless of what I do. Even if I make a very small change to E-Mail's DPI (such as putting it at 330 while the ROM is at 320), I get the same issue.
Is this something I'm doing wrong, or is it just an issue with the email app on TW? I could grab an AOSP email client, but I do, in this case, actually prefer the TW one.
Thanks for any direction/assistance you can give.
John
Hi,
I have a rooted Nook Glowlight. I've installed Opera Mobile and the BBC News app from the sticky thread in the Apps and Themes section here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2690166
but in both these apps the font size is tiny and there doesn't seem to be any way to increase it.
As the entire point of owning a Nook is to have a comfortable reading experience, this is a big problem.
Is ther any way to increase text size for all apps?
Failing that, can anyone recommend a browser which will work on a Nook and has the option to increase the font size?

The browser I have attached below is for the most recent working version of Opera Mini, a slightly different model of Opera than the one you are currently using. It has on-screen +/- buttons when you are scrolling which allows you to enlarge the text (as well as the whole webpage). This is my current daily driver, so give it a go. :good:
Just realised that the attached file is a .zip, not an apk.
Do I need to flash that from recovery? I don't have a recovery installed so far.
@JPo_23, I don't know why it downloads as a .zip - I uploaded it as a .apk!
Try this link, it's a Dropbox download with the .apk. It should work properly.
