Hi guys, I did a quick search & couldn't find anything on this.
Is it possible to sync music between my HD2 WP7 & my Xbox 360? Particularly from my 360 to my phone. I've got some songs on there that I've lost the CD's of, & would like to sync them to my phone. Trying to avoid re-purchasing the music since I've already paid for it once, lol.
I tried plugging it in but it wasn't read by my 360, although it did charge my phone. It was easy enough to do running WM 6.5.x. Not sure if it is possible since the sd card is a part of the OS in WP7, but worth a try.
Gonna try a few things today/tonight & see what happens. Anybody have any ideas, at all?
*Contacted Windows Phone Support & Xbox Support on twitter. Windows Phone Support responded by telling me they didn't have any plans currently, but will pass my suggestion/question on to Xbox support & Windows Phone in house guys. Here's hoping something happens soon. Hopefully they'll fix it to where we can sync them through Zune, since both have a Zune hub.*

Hi guys,
I had this great idea this week when I was hanging out with my brother. I wanted to listen to some music I had on my phone so I plugged it into the XBox. I set the phone with nueUSB as a removable device but the XBOX does not see it as anything. From what I understand the XBox only sees specific types of devices.
The idea is why not upgrade nueUSB to allow to set your phone as a removable device that XBox can see to play music, pictures, etc.
I am not very good at coding or anyting but I was wondering if anyone would be interested.
im not sure what phone you're using, but I plug my phone into my xbox for music/video. I'm using an Elfin with Onyx on it. I haven't installed anything fancy either.
I am running an XV6800 Titan with DCD 3.2.6 Reloaded 1.3.4 on it.
My Diamond used to work on my Xbox 360 'out of the box' but it doesn't since I upgraded my ROM to 2.03.
There was a fix on the Diamond forum but it didn't work for me.
On my Touch Pro I get prompted on how I want to connect when I plug in using a USB cable. And it has worked on my buddys XBox, watched a full episode of House that way.
The setting is under Settings->Connections->USB to PC, or at least it should be for the Diamond and Touch Pro.
The HTC app that allows this might have been ported to other phones, if not there is a utility out there that will let you "map" your microSD card as a Removable Drive in Windows. Its called WM5torage, it has worked on my 8525 with WM6.
Im interested in getting this phone. I use Napster to download and stream all my music. Will this play wma-drm files? Or would it possible to stream music to the phone from the napster web service?
Is anyone else use the Napster service successfully with this phone? As its running WM6.5 Im hoping that both of these things work.
Thanks.
Anyone any idea on this??
Reallly?
You really use Napster? I didn't even think they were still in business.
My wife uses something detestable...iTunes. And to get her files onto her phone I've found something that works. You may have to do the same. I use a secondary program to simulate burning to a CD and then simulate ripping it to remove the drm. I use AVS4YOU. In the old days, we would just use iTunes to burn it to a CD and then rip it as a non-drm file.
Good luck,
Clank
Thanks for the reply.
Yup I certainly do use it, its still going strong. Is your wife's phone an HD2 then? Still not sure if an HD2 will play wma-drm files or not? Or will stream the tracks straight from the napster mobile website?
napster
I've been using Napster to go without issue on my HD2 for last three months until i flashed a new ROM to it, working on getting it going again now, usually it sees my storage card and i can sync tracks to this and play as i want with the occasional connection for updating the drm so they continue to play.
Hey, First off I Just wanted to shout out this forum, It has been infinitely helpful with everything concerning my HTC Leo and has made me look like the coolest guy in Brooklyn NY,
I was wondering however if anyone has tried to connect to their Xbox360 and If so does it connect? I would think that If the Xbox360 Synced up with Windows 6.5 pretty well (Which it did) Windows 7 For the Leo would be fairly simple too and I'm just doing something wrong.
I just want to be able to play my Music from My phone while putting in work In COD...
I've been looking all around on forums and google, and it seems like alot of ppl are having this problem, but I couldn't find the solution.
I cant for the life of me figure out how to sync my Samsung Focus (Rogers) to my 32 Bit Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 laptop. At first I thought I was supposed to use Zune, but the guy on the technical support line said I had to use Kies. Neither program could detect my Focus when I plugged it in. I got confirmations sounds from BOTH the phone and the PC, but nothing from either program. I use the same USB port for my iPod, so thats not the problem. And Ive tried uninstallations, reinstallations, rebooting the phone, resetting to factory settings, and Im using the same cord that came with the phone.
PLEASE, someone, please tell me how to fix this. Im ready to throw both my laptop and cell out the window.
Thanks,
Ross
Hi Ross. You suppose to use Zune only (I don't know what a tech. support guy is talking about). Do the following:
- download and install latest Zune;
- get a 100% working USB<->micro-USB cable (it's important);
- connect Focus to PC, drivers should install automatically, Zune will start and ask you to do same simple steps.
You'll need a valid LiveID (create one on the PC) and (optional) you may initialize additional services like Microsoft LiveDrive or Facebook.
Kies is the Samsung PC sync app/firmware update app for Samsung's Android phones like Captivate. Not for WP7 phones.
All WP7 phones use Zune to sync, but only for media (song and video) and firmware updates, nothing else. You can't sync your Outlook directly to your phone. Nor can you sync any files directly to your phone.
Hey folks, so I have a random curiosity question. I am a bit of a noob, although I have rooted my HTC dream and installed roms, updated my HP iPaq to a newer Rom etc.... so I understand a good chunk of what to do.
My project/question? I have an old "bricked" (I guess, it gives an error upon loading) Brada brand (some house brand from the Brick here in Canada) GPS unit.
It has a large touch screen and I thought it would be fun to have a windows system on it, or even convert it to an external LCD for my DSLR for video shooting (bigger screen for live view).
My question is, how would I go about reflashing it/installing a new rom on it? Just a basic windows mobile system that would allow the use of the AV in signal, and maybe some windows mobile media player or whatnot.
What I know about it off the top of my head: It runs windows CE 4.2 I believe, has an internal CF card, and windows mobile center recognizes it on Vista (I can access files and transfer files).
I don't know what info you would need to help me out, but please ask and I will answer!
I guess its sort of a dumb idea...I'd be better off buying a new tablet and hooking that up with a new cable.....but then again, I have this lying around and wouldn't want to waste it, since it DOES have a good screen!
If its a stupid plan and not worth my effort, PLEASE STOP ME NOW. If I am going to be wasting my time, I'd rather just save up some money and buy some knock off tablet to use as an external screen, or even buy a REAL tablet for live shooting.
This is just for fun to see if I can put a new ROM on it!
