Do You happen to have same theme in black? One that works with 137 FLB ROM or on Void? levibukos Minimalistic theme looks great, but clock doesn't show, as you mentioned in his thread. Would greatly apprichiate it.

Was this theme meant to work on Stock Roms, installed via Clockwork Recovery?
I've tried both B160 and B138, both crash on startup... Everything force closes, messaging, market, ril, everything...

I tested it with stock B138SP04 (Esthonia) and it worked. Are you trying with the same ROM? Have you tried with the second installation method?
I haven't tried the second method...as the Rom became unusable, I had to reinstall. I've tried with B162 as well, no joy. Does it have to be rooted?

I was just wondering if there are a clever trick to reflash a theme already installed on the device.
In this particular situation I have changed some of the icons in the framwork-res.apk. I then copied them to the theme, wich is BrightSilence, and tried to flash it all over again. Result - bootloop.
So, is there any step you could do to circumvent this, or is the only option to reflash the ROM. and then the theme?
Thanks
Yes, just reflash a unmodified version of, in your case, BrightSilence or am i missing something?
Or revert to the nandroid you made before messing with the system partition.
The thing is that BrightSilence is already installed on the device, but now I want another set of icons. Flashing the theme again with the modified framework-res just result in a bootloop.
It seems there really is no shortcut, than to reflash ROM, then new theme.
Thanks anyway.

U are wrong.
Installing theme - means overwriting some files into new ones, not adding or removing some.
So if u changed framework file, flashed and got bootloop - u can flash theme again (overwrite bad file) and boot correctly.

U have to mod framework correctly and will not end in booloops.
Use Apk Manager to decompile, change, compile and sign framework-res.apk.
Do not push file via adb - use flashable zip.

But the framework-res is from the UOT, shouldn't that be packed/signed properly?
Well, I am going to try anyway, thanks!
EDIT: Tried to cook a new file, with the exact same framework-res I used earlier. Used UOT to cook, and worked perfectly. Thanks to mendozinas! ;-)
I am on liberty 1.5 and I was trying to instal the frost theme in the liberty toolbox and I have been having a lot of trouble. I started with pushing install. It says downloading/installing theme. Then it reboots into recovery and tries to install. I get an error saying that it can't be installed because the file doesn't exist. I check in the liberty downloads folder and it is not there.
I've tried deleting old themes in the folder and I have tried to install it from the toolbox several times. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do differently? Or an alternative way to download it?
Try using ROM manager. Flash the current rom for clock work mod, than do the theme installation from toolbox, also check your toolbox version. You can get an update from the market if out of date.

I have done all of this. The problem is that the liberty toolbox does not download the file. It just boots into recovery and tries to install it. This obviously won't work because the file was never downloaded.
Is there possibly a link to simply download the theme online? The one I'm looking for is the frost theme.
Or do I just have to stick with the one I have or pick a different one?
Ok something new happened! It turns out rom manager needed to update. So I did that and flashed the CWM. Now the liberty toolbox makes an empty zip file and names it frostheme.zip. However, since there is nothing in it, installation is about because the file is bad
Does anyone have the file or a link that they could post to help me out? That or help on how to get this to work would be greatly appreciated
This is the 1st ROM I developed/cooked
It is based on official B572G Release so it's Gingerbread 2.3.5
The ROM follows a K.I.S.S philosophy trying to have almost no extra apps installed so you can build your system around your needs
Let's see what changed:
Changes:
1) Changed Default Launcher to Zeam
2) Removed a lot of apps from Huawei and left only the essential ones(install everything else you need from PlayStore or by installing apk files from other roms)
3) Changed Default CPU Governor to SmartAssV2
4) updated hosts file(no more ads) and gps.conf (for europe usage)
5) Added Volume Rocker Wake
6) Unlocked FPS & Root Permissions(of course )
7) Removed some audio files from the media folder to save space
8) Added init.d & build.prop tweaks(some of them may not work, but they don't have any side effect in the system so I left them there on purpose)
9) Changed Camera & Settings Icon to look like ICS (thanks to Pikachukaki for his great guide in replacing .png files in apk files)
10) Patched libsqlite.so
11) HDR function enabled on camera(well this actually is included in number 8 cuz it's a build.prop tweak )
12) Fast Boot Option is removed (again a build.prop tweak)
I have also made some little tricks here and there in the cust.img so make sure before flashing the ROM that you have a working backup and/or a backup of the cust.img
I edited the cust.img and removed all extra apps and module files there, and also changed the default language to english because without this the ROM would boot the 1st time in chinese
If you don't want to flash my cust.img that is in the .zip file simpy delete it from there
If you flashed and you want your old cust.img back simply boot into pink screen and replace it with you cust.img backup
There is no side effect from the cust.img change except that you will lose swype, huawei ime(I prefer the basic android keyboard anyways) and also the Totem Weather Widget
Installation:
Do the following in any order
-------------------------------------------------
Wipe data/factory reset
Advanced->Wipe Dalvik Cache
Mounts & Storage-> Format system
--------------------------------------------------
Now flash the .zip file
Reboot
Enjoy!
Everything is working in this ROM (because it's based on official B572) except TV-OUT of course
Anyway.Tell me what you think of my 1st work on android.
Happy Flashing

Thanks.
Screenshoots added!
Note that the screenshoot app and es file explorer that you see in the 2nd image aren't present when you first install the ROM.You have to install them from play store
That's great. thanks for share.

hmmm. That is a personal opinion. I like cm7 more due to the power widget, screen on/off animation etc
But if someone wants an official huawei gingerbread ROM(official for U8800+, not a port from honor e.g kalo) then this should be a good choice.

Hi guys,
as promised some days ago, I will provide Mods now for odexed Stock ROM XXLSZ.
Why? Because lots of people don't want to flash deodexed (Custom) ROMs for different reasons (odexed feels snappier or still want to be able to update via OTA or too much risk or whatever...)
Usually all Mods (like 4-Way-Reboot, Ink Effect, unlimited Apps for Multiwindiw, etc.) are ONLY made for deodexed ROMs - so you guys on odexed never benefit of these great customizations.
Now this will change and I will provide some of these Mods - as my time is limited, I will do this step by step.
Prerequisites:
- you have to be on odexed Stock ROM XXLSZ (e.g. flashed via KIES, ODIN or Mobile ODIN)
- you have to be rooted
- you have a working CWM Recovery installed
Installation Instructions:
- download flashable zip and copy on your SD-Card
- boot in CWM Recovery
- select and press 'Install Zip'
- select and press 'Choose zip from sdcard'
- select and press the flashable zip (e.g. '4WayReboot_odexed_XXLSZ.zip)
- select 'YES - Install 'nameof.zip'
- Mod will be flashed
- go back to main menu
- select and press 'Reboot System Now'
- you are done - so enjoy now
1. MOD --> 4-Way-Reboot
Download-Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?07j9q779ksiwxsx
How to use:
- press Power Button
- select 'Restart'
- now you will see these 4 options you can choose:
2. MOD --> Ink-Effect with any color (includes 4-way-Reboot also)
Download-Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?68d3vc8t5i8saf0
How to use:
- open App Drawer
- open App 'Ink Color Changer'
- check both options 'Ripple Effect' and 'Ink effect'
- open 'InkEffect color
- set color you like
- enjoy
Credits go to mythtrandyr for his App 'Ink Color Changer' to do all the settings inside with every colour in the world
3. MOD --> Center Clock in Status Bar (notifications NOT overlapping!)
Download-Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?gxqohtkc7husvy4
Download-Link (Undo this Mod): http://www.mediafire.com/?h5iaavabca7z37c
How it looks like:

- When I used MO when installing XXLSA I injected Root/CWM but was able to make the update to XXLSC with OTA.
- But when I install a Philz Kernel and activate the Software Updates I get the info that the kernel was changed (blablabla) and OTA isn't possible anymore.
So I guess that using the Mods by rooting the feature OTA shouldn't be important for a user.
I don't see why someone should bother if he have already done something like this - you simply download from Sammobile and you are GTG.
And yes - if you flash Philz you cannot do OTA.
eybee1970 - AWESOME!
Great support for odexed ROM.
Thanks alot eybee..

you have to be VERY careful in odexing back! It does NOT work when you take a given jar with all mods included and trying to odex back --> ends up in bootloop as you know (though you will no see any errors in odex back process!). So you have to start modding from scratch...
Got it... Flashed it and works perfectly... Is there a way to go back to normal reboot options(no 4 way reboot)

Yes. I am doing it from scratch by using the services.odex

just use the tool --> 2. Decompile all Odex --> then do the smali editing --> then 4. Deodex all --> then rename to classes.dex in Folder 7. --> then take original jar, open with WinRAR (or 7zip) and copy classes.dex inside --> then move this jar to Folder 01 modded files --> put original jar and odex in Folder 02 original files --> do 5. Reodex All --> in Folder 03 odexed files you'll find the modded files ready to flash

EDIT: I will do some mods for apps also, but will do that with deodexed apps, as some apps make trouble to reodex (did not find proper solution til now...)
The script in flashable will contain commands then for deleting the associated .odex file - but there will always be a 'Undo Mod' so you can easily restore to stock, if you don't like
Hi,
I've been wondering if I could somehow push the stock 4.2.2 Launcher that comes with the stock jellybean update into lets say CM10.1? I always preferred the stock Launcher over all those different ones, is it possible though?
Take the app from the stock ROM located in system/app. I believe its called "launcher2".
Then just put it into the system/app directory of the other ROM. Also change the permissions to rw-r-r, and delete the old launcher that is there. (In the case of CM, I think the original launcher is trebuchet so delete that apk)

I tried that before and I couldn't get it to work, I also tried to install the "Launcher2.apk" and it refused to install, I managed to install it by doing the following steps:
1-Flash the stock ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2147281
2- Download Titanium backup and back-up the "Launcher2.apk" file.
3- Do a full reset to phone/cache/dalvik
4- Flash the latest RC1 CM10.1 or whatever ROM, then reboot.
5- Install TB again and then restore (App+Data) for the "Launcher2" file.
6-Reboot
7- When booted, choose the "Launcher2" as the default Launcher.
8-Finally, launch TB and deleted "Trebuchet", Reboot.
The procedure might take long and I'm not sure if there is an easy way to do it, but I got it to work that way.
Thanks!
