[Q] FourSquare app install fails - missing library (MN) - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Searched and haven't found an answer yet... rooted 1.2 Nook (latest version of MN), encountered my first Market error ever while installing Foursquare.
The install fails with a "Installation Error - Missing Shared Library" dialog.
Any ideas as to what library this is referring to, and possible fixes? I have a feeling it is somehow related to geolocation or Google Maps (which is installed, updated and working fine on its own).

You should contact the app developer. Your Android version might not be supported by Foursquare. Check its minimum API requirement.

ManualNooter vs autonooter

The thread of ManualNooter for 1.2 stock is getting pretty long, so I'm asking this in a new thread. I've only used AN in in the past, so I had planned to wait for AN for 1.2. Reading about MN it seems to give me everything that AN did.
So the point of this post is to ask if there is any reason to wait for AN?

There is some issue with manual nooter (see the last page or so of the hread) I, and others, are suggesting that it needs some additional work.
As usual, caveat emptor

GabrialDestruir is the author of both the 1.0.0 and 1.0.1 AutoNooter as well as the author of the ManualNooter, so it's all good.
The reason it's "manaul" right now is he wanted to get it out there, even though it's not a "one step" process right now.
ManualNooter is ran basically like your normal CWM Update file.
AutoNooter implies to me anyways, that it does it all automatically just pop the card in.
MN works wonderfully, easy to do, do it now!
So then the manual nooter is working fine and the only thing being worked on still is creating the auto version?
All my apps save for Google Calendar, Swift Key and Angry Birds work great.
Angry birds now working via
dropbox and install with sd card out.
Thanks for the replies. Think I'll go ahead and do it.
I'm pretty new at this, but I was able to follow Manual Nooter pretty easily and seem to have most things working.
I just have one question (and pardon if it's already been answered somewhere); the usual Google Calendar app and the usual Google Contacts app that I'm familiar with don't seem to be there. Looking down in the files I see sync GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk, GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk and ContactsProvider.apk, but not the Calender.apk, CalendarProvider.apk or Contacts.apk.
Anybody know why these are missing and how I can get them working?
Thanks.

I'll be looking into Calendar and Contacts later this month if someone else doesn't get to it first as I have finals coming up.
I'm using MN 4.4.28 on 1.2 and have problem downloading B&N magazines (both those that were archived and new ones on subscription).
Message is "An Unexpected Error Occurred. Internal Error: Exception executing the command" for an attempt to update a subscription and "Unable to Download. Internal Error: Exception executing the command" for an attempt to download an archived magazine. Any way to fix?
See Later Post: MN 5.3 fixed the problem.

Uhm... not sure what could be causing this. Doubtful it has anything to do with MN/AN will look into it if anyone else has had this issue.
Flashed back to stock (using CWM backup). Magazines worked fine in stock. Ran MN 5.2 and problem is fixed! Thanks.
Is there a thread somewhere on XDA that gives any updates on when autonooter for those who want to wait for this program

I'm having this problem as well. Can't seem to interact with the B&N Store at all without getting some kind of "An Unexpected Error Occurred". Can't try to go back at the moment as I'm away from home. Anybody have another idea, otherwise just thought I'd report it in case it is something to be looked into.
Thanks.

Try the later (5.2) MN. Fixed the problem for me.
report from a newbie - i am really new to xda, and a new owner of nc. i did a manual update in my stock NC from 1.1 to 1.2 last night, then seeing that autonooter was only approved for 1.1, i decided to try ManualNooter 4.5.6 (For Stock 1.2) (link below) It worked just fine for me. THANKS-ALL!

Manual Nooter
First ---Thanks to everyone who's been working on getting this out so quickly. Even with the initial Market bugs it was way better then the stock option of 1.2.
I've updated the MN as it comes out and everything works just as others posted. Some apps from Market need the SD card removed to install and others install with no problem and sometimes all it takes is 'clearing data" to make it work. I also installed the NookHome app and love it!
Question: News and Weather which came with the .zip doesn't load at all. I tried clearing data - doesn't make a difference. When I click on the icon it tries to load but then just reverts to the home screen. Can't uninstall it either, no response when I click on uninstall (wanted to re-install to try fixing it that way). Any ideas what else I can try?
Manualnooter --News and Weather
I have the same problem. Tried to open News and Weather it turn screen black and went back to home screen.
Anybody have solutions for this?
TIA
I am definately a novice at rooting. The Nook Color is my first experience with an Android device, and I was able to run Manual Nooter fairly easy. Besides the usual obstacles of learning what CWM, root, flash, ROM, etc meant, and learning to burn an .img file on an SD card, it was fairly easy. I'm already looking beyond it, to see what the NC is capable of. Now if only I could get phiremod v6.3 to work....

[CM7] How to run OneTimeInitializer.apk a second time?

After the first boot into CM7, this OneTimeInitializer.apk was launched and I could choose what Google Apps to install. I noticed, that I had an error during the install of one app and just realised that Gmail is missing, so I assume, it somehow failed to download this app.
So I need to run the OneTimeInitializer a second time - how can I do it?
I'm not sure about how to make it run again, but it is unnecessary since it is just a link to the Android market. Just search for 'gmail' in the market and install it that way, since that is all that apk would do anyway.
Thanks, I used MarketEnabler to grab it from the market as its seems to be available only to US ppl.
Oh, I wasn't aware that it wouldn't display for all. Glad I could help though.
I downloaded it and install via adb
But I got error:
FAIL_*_NO_CERTIFICATES

[Q] Google Maps on rooted Nook Color 1.3

Has anyone else noticed that the Google Maps app is apparently 'not compatible' with Nook Colors any longer? I rooted on 1.2, received the 1.3 update, successfully followed the instructions elsewhere on these boards to reroot, and now I can't get any updates to Google Maps. It's not showing up in my list of apps in the Market, and when I go to the Android Market on a desktop computer, I see the NC is shown as 'not compatible'. What happened?
I already had Maps installed, so I can continue to use it, but woe betide anyone new who is trying to install Maps.

Yep.. same here with BN1.3 and rooted. A lot of other apps are also deemed not compatible including yelp and kayak.
It could be a Market issue.
Same here, installed CM7 on a new card, google map can't install as of Sept 15, 2011
While it works in my old sd card.

Android Market - Server error on search

Hi
I get a "network error has occurred" only when I use search for finding apps. Apart from that everything works (downloading and removing apps from the market).
How do I fix searching error?

[Q] NST GMarket search

Hi,
I am kind of new to Android (not linux) and I am asking myself, if it is even possible to enable the search function somehow in Google Market.
There are several attempts to do so and some report it working. Unfortunately, the working reports are so old that I am confused weather it is still possible or not.
I have tried several Vending.apk's, even the ones reported working as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15084704&postcount=51
I am on 1.1.2. Maybe someone could confirm/disprove Market search working or not. Then we would know if struggling is worth the task getting it to work.
Thanks for the reply

Use SearchMarket.apk to search for apk's in the market.
It work's if you have registered your gmail account correctly (that is your market.apk works/connects to google play).
http://www.appbrain.com/app/searchmarket/youten.redo.searchmarket?install=appwidget
yeah no, that was not what i meant.
Of course Market is working with a proper gmail adress. I was talking about it being possible to search the market w/o searchmarket app. Like people telling it would work, but most posts are still of 2011. So my question is: Is it even possible to search the Market in nowadays Google Play time w/o 3rd party apps?
Why is searching not possible? IMO, it is because of server restictions, not because of the Vending.apk. Right?
So I assume these "claimed to be working" Vending.apk's are not working anyway anymore, are they?
Thx
How can I get the SearchMarket.apk file for manual adb installation? My Nook Market app won't let me install any app.
Edit: Managed to get it installed by searching for it from within the Browser and installing from the web interface. Weird but after that the SearchMarket app was shown topmost on MyApps in Market and could be clicked, which begun installation.
The problem is Market for Nook only displays a limited # (~15) of MyApps (given I have a Galaxy S3 with 350+ apps installed and that the Nook Market doesn't restrict to Nook installed ones).
just download market search from gstore ....... log on gmail acc that u root ur nst with and go to google store and search ur appz ur desire and download to ur acc ....... once u connect ur nook to wifi ur appz will download successfully , between that i am use market seacher on my rooted nst 1.1.2 and works great till now , try methid above with reinstall market searcher
good luck

Just in case.
youten.redo.searchmarket.apk
The apk itself is free so i guess uploading it here is not illegal.
I recently uninstalled (deleted) the apks of certain android apps like gtalk, calendar from my system/app folder on my rooted NST using root explorer.
Not sure if it is related, but, unable to install any app now from the app market. I use app-brain app market for downloading apps.
I'm able to find the apps, but on clicking on download, it doesn't get downloaded and instead says it is 'downloading' without any apparent change.
Is the problem related to the deletion of certain apks?
Note: haven't deleted any apk even associated with the word download/market.

I'm having the same problem. I was a able to download apps from market a couple days ago but not yesterday or today. I don't think I uninstalled anything in the meantime. Anyone have any ideas?

Solved it. I Had uninstalled gtalk thinking it was unnecessary on the NST but it broke the market.
Installed gtalk and the market started working fine again.
You are sure you didn't uninstall anything?
What is the error btw? It takes you to the download page but the download doesn't begin?
