Well to be realistic, it's going to take some time (short of pics) to verify anything. All we can do is wait and hope for the best.

Legit or not, this is not a public OTA. Unless you or someone you know is a TMO employee, you're not getting it.

Most recent froyo leak

I heard through the IRC grape vine that there is yet another froyo leak out. I was wondering if the dev's could shed some light on the overall stability ofthe os, and if this new build resolved our gps woes, and if you could tell us if the build is closer to prime time.

If anyone really has it I highly doubt they will talk about it after all the drama the other leaks have cuased and at this point I would hope they would keep it to themselves if they aren't prepared to release the full tar file for it also and not just go for the fame of releasing a rom first.

I think if they just discussed it a both more instead of a vail of secrecy people wouldn't be so chippy. I know they have the right to release it when they are good and ready, and I respect that but what is thee harm in releasing some teaser info.

It's crap like this that causes people NOT to want to release stuff. We don't even know if anyone HAS a new release and you are ALREADY going to start ****? Seriously? It seems like it's usually 10 days from leak until we get it leaked to us. So I bet a week from now we will have it, hopefully with some sweet tweaks

Froyo update

My phone has been going nuts force closing on a sprint update. Anyone else? Just started this morning. Of coarse I'm rooted and will have to wait for roms.

Just mentioning it.
Edit to add: apparently mine was a bit late, 60675 came out a few days ago it looks like.

Android 2.3.4 with native chat is rolling out

Well it looks like Google is rolling an update for Samsung nexus s , now i really want to get the nexus s 4G. I doubt will get this from HTC and sprint tho hut who knows

I like it- hopefully it can be implemented smoothly in AOSP roms. I'd assume they'll make a version that will work with Evo's normal GTalk anyway though, since it's got video chat abilities

You know the more then 50% of people that have Android don't root right? So practicly they don't get the android experience and it sucks cause they get a bad taste of android because of manufacturers and carriers

A lot of people are scared of android, and most of them come from iPhones that just "work" and never had to to anything. Also, those same people just want the phone to make calls, or from the time, use flash.

System update

I just got a message just a few momenta ago on my phone to download a update. I didn't take it but wanted to ask, it says it was an update for 2.3 gingerbread and said it was for 4.22.651.1
I'm puzzled because my phone says I'm running 4.22.651.2 and thought I was screwed out of being able to root.
Can any one help me understand this, and let me know if I'm capable of rooting cause I've done my homework and realized that I'm just S.O.L. for now

yeah, you are updated. uncheck the "check for updates" in the settings. If you take it, you will lose root.

I never take any updates ever. Updates are plots to make you hate your phone ie NO ROOT

I was rooted and accepted the ota... And I'm still rooted. Just flash recovery and then superuser and you'll be set.

I've never accept an OTA, but want to. I unrooted to go to Sprint, the phone is being swapped, but would rather have Gingerbread until then. When I check for updates it finds none even though it has 2.2 on it now. Any idea why?

The reason I ask is WHEN they finally find a way to root 2.3.3 I don't want to be kicking myself in the butt for taking the OTA. I don't know if the update has anything that would make it harder for me in the future.
Any thoughts?

No, all they did basically was update the kernel. If you don't take it, your battery is gonna be draining way too fast. There is nothing in 4.24 that isn't in 4.22 as far as being able to root it goes.
Plus if you don't take it you won't be able to use netflix either... I dunno if you use such things lol.
