HOTMAIL MSN AND LIVE PUSH MAIL TUTORIAL FOR ANDROID 2.2 +
Push Mail, Over-the-Air Access to Mail, Contacts, Calendar By Microsoft For Android Devices 2.2 +
Push Mail will sync everything between your phone and Hotmail MSN or Live, like delete an email, or update one of your contacts with a new number, will also be reflected on the web, and vice-versa. If you use an email client on your PC that already syncs with Hotmail, like Outlook with the Outlook Connector or Windows Live Mail, what you do on your phone will show up there as well.

Hi,
I'm using push-email with the company I work for sync'ing my email, tasks, calendar and contacts (business contacts).
I'd like also to try and use the new windows live (msn messenger) but I am looking for a way NOT to sync the msn messenger contacts with my device.
The problem is, the device will sync all my personal contacts on msn with the company's exchange server and I cannot share that with the company's exchange.
Is there a way to filter/disable/limit the sync so my msn contacts will not be sent with the rest of the contacts to the exchange server?
Hi guys
I'm wondering whether it is somehow possible to override the limitation of Activesync in WM and sync mails with more than 1 server?
I use mail-push for corporate mails, but would like of course to sync also my private mail2web - account.
what's the latest on this? sorry to revive such an old topic.
As far as I know, you'd have to use an alternative client to sync with multiple servers/
What if I want my handheld to sync to one exchange server just for email and another for contacts, calendar, and tasks?
At this time ActiveSync only supports 1 server.
mail from one exchange server, calendar/contacts from another...

Thought I would share it as i've been trying to figure out how sync my corporate email & calendar via one activesync server (company) and google contacts via another (the google server). So now I have both personal email (gmail IMAP) and work email (Exchange) and my personal contacts imported into the native contacts list.
Hope someone else finds this useful.
BTW, I also set HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ActiveSync\EnableNonLocalCrossPollination to "1" instead of "0".
And now???
No news about multiple accounts setup?
As gmail is now provideing push access this becomes more than frustrating to be limited to one push server!!!!!!
You're too lazy MS!
Activesync does support multiple servers if you are not syncing the same items with both.
For example:
I sync my calendar and contacts with google sync and sync just my email with the company I work for.
You just have to go into the pocket outlook and create a new account as if you were creating a pop3 or imap account and then select Exchange Server. You however can NOT sync contacts or email or anything with both.

Thx for your answer. That's what I am using.
Bu I want to use the push mode fo both accounts and Activesync does nto support it... Which is a pity!
Is there a way to use outlook for recieving mails from hotmail?
pop3 access
you will need pop3 enabled in your email account and the configure it with pda.
pop3 access is paid with hotmail. Gmail offers free pop access.
are we talking for your phone or your PC?
If it's for your PC then ajipta is right and you have to pay for hotmail plus.
If this is for your phone just sign into windows live. It works just the same as outlook and is free!!!
There is a way of configuring hotmail to be read from within Outlook on the HD.
Something about configuring Live when you set it up to sync with Outlook. Works a treat for me. Haven't tried sending but I only download my hotmail, I use other accounts to send.
Regards
Use "Microsoft Office Outlook Connector" (google it)
Install this and you'll have all your hotmail emails in Outlook.
Then use Windows Live on your HD to setup your Hotmail account as a push email service.
Your emails on your phone and pc are kept in sync !!
Works Great + It's FREE !!
There's a second solution for the PC that doesn't need Outlook at all. Get Windows Live Mail (free) and ....voila....you have a spiced up version of Outlook Express with almost full Outlook functionality and it works with Hotmail and all other POP3 or IMAP providers. I use it to manage 6 accounts and I'm very happy with it
On the phone. Just sing in to Windows Live and you will get Hotmail in messaging. Check "As Items Arrive" in the sync options and you have push mail You don't need to have Windows Live on the phone running all the time. Once configured Hotmail works on it's own.
Hiya,
I dont see any option on logging onto windows live , to check on arrival..
Where is it please.

Hey
I use the Thunderbird client on my PC to manage my emails from 4 different accounts. The same four accounts have been setup on my DHD's email client.
I want to be able to synchronize the emails on my Thunderbird client with the ones on my DHD. As a result my DHD email client gets the update email list from all four accounts depending on my emails lying in my Thunderbird client. How would I do that ?
Cheers
MJ
Check out if your E-Mail Provider is capable of providing e-mail via IMAP.
With IMAP instead of POP your Mails are stored online (make sure that mails can be stored online for a unlimited time) + offline (if you like).
Thy will be synced at each login (or 5min or so, depending on the settings in your mail client).
I use IMAP with three e-mail accounts via two pcs, two notebooks, a tablet and, of course, my DHD (K-9 Mail)
I have four email accounts (google, hotmail, Univeristy, Work)
Googlemail can do IMAP.
So how do I set this up ?
I am tires of WINMO 6.5, and WP7 is not what I want. The only thing is that I can't give up my hotmail, and NO I don't want POP3 version, and the exchange trick won't show me attachments..... not html etc.
I want hotmail to behave like any an regular email client.
As of now this is how I am setup on winmo 6.5:
1. PH#s (contacts with PH#s) + Calendar = Gmail, synced via microsoft exchange (I do this because I use Google voice)
2. Email (Hotmail) + Email contacts - synced via windows live email client
Any advise will be greatly appreciated. Also... I would like to combine somehow all my contacts in one directory that will be synced somehow between gmail (for google voice texts and calls) and hotmail (since I use this all over my PC's and add contacts from different locations. Can I do all this and use ANDROID?? Please help!! Thank you!!! - Peter
On my phone, I use the included email app in CM7, and just enter email/pass and it gets hotmail fine, full html and attachments.
or you can root, install Cyanogenmod, then put browser as a desktop agent....and you can veiw it just as if you were on a normal computer
Gmail has always worked great for me on android. Its a must when you check your mail on multiple devices. Android lets you save contacts to your gmail account, so you can edit your phone contacts in gmail. Im sure you could then import the contacts to hotmail.
I posted how to's in your other thread. Not posting them again here.

It is a one way sync, CM7 is a custom ROM for android. What phone are you planning to get? I've heard there is someway to get GMail to send over all your hotmail stuff and use it as a 2 way sync, but im not sure. Microsoft always kept Hotmail hard to access from non-microsoft products.
