I/O device with light leakage? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

I got the GT 10.1 I/O version from google and have noticed about 3-4 spots that have light leakage... The top part near the camera is probably one of the worst.
Anyone else see any light leakage on their devices? You can really see it when the screen is powering up...
Thanks

[Q] Any pics of a TF *without* light bleed?

Hey all-
I'm seriously debating returning my TF due to light bleed. After reading all the threads on the subject has anyone come across a pic of a TF101 without light bleed? I really want to compare mine vs. a 'perfect' unit before I send it in for replacement...
For reference my unit is part of the B50 batch from Amazon.com...
Thanks,
shadow-box
I don't think mine has light bleed. But it's really hard to take a picture of one "without" light bleed because you can always set the exposure low enough so that you don't see any light bleed. It's a problem with how to take a standard exposure picture. All the pictures and videos you see have exposure settings / shuttle settings that effect how obvious the light bleed is.
I think it really comes down to just watching a dark movie scene - if you see light bleed, and it's annoying enough, then return it. A picture is difficult to truly see light bleed. You might see relative light bleed, but not absolute light bleed.
I'm about to return mine - the power button is stuck in the depressed position. But, no light bleed.
I don't think mine has any light bleed at all... that, or I am not sure what you guys are referring to as light bleed. Is it around the screen or another part of the bezel?
I'll check mine tonight and see if I notice any light leaking around it.
when talking about light bleed they mean the greyish areas at the ends of the screen. usually only noticable on a all black BG. what people dont know is that Most ips devices have light bleed problems. even iPads. if its not really noticable then dont return it. if its too hig then exchange it but know that the next unit you get will probably still suffer from light bleed. how much is anyones guess though.
My light bleed isn't noticeable
I do have some however on the bottom left edge area
however.....my charger is not working anymore

Is this back light bleeding or a new type of defect?

My nexus 7 screen, when it's showing a certain kind of gray, the half right of the screen turns red pinkish in color. I could have swore it doesn't happen the first day I bought it. Is this a known defect as well? Or is this what people means when they say about back light bleeding?
I swear that didn't happen on 4.1.. Only start noticing it when I got the ota update to 4.1.1
Using stock rom rooted with trinity kernel
First picture shows what I meant by the color showing pinkish red (when the screen is a certain bit gray as compared to second picture) . It doesn't flicker at all.
Backlight bleed is when you can see uneven lighting along the edge(s) of the display when viewing a dark image, so no, you don't have backlight bleed. It seems like you do have a defective display though.
return it....
Wow.
Turns out the problem is with the kernel TS-ALPHA86-1700-484.
Gonna go ask morfic now

Too much light bleed?

I read some posts regarding the light bleed in pure black screen under a dark environment with brightness set to 100%. However, My Nexus 7 (2013) doesn't show a serious problem in this condition but very noticeable at the top edge with other colors especially the grey and blue.
I took two shots here and do you guys think it is serious?
My Nexus 7 (2013) has been repaired for 4 times (The first time I have one dead pixel in the center of the screen) and I afraid if the Asus service center replaced a new LCD panel for me, it will have dead/stuck pixels again.

Katecca,
There will always be light bleed sooner or later. I had my N7 G1 and it light bleed too. It gets worse with time but are you going to keep staring at the corner of the screen while you play Real Racing 3? With light background colours you won't notice it. My N7 GII had excessive light bleed the first time I turned it on but after I put a colourful wallpaper you can't see it anymore. If everything is fine then there is no point in bringing it in to Asus for repair.

The lighter background color, the more noticeable light bleed. I tried RR3 and it is noticeable when I focused on the left edge.

Actually light bleed doesn't get worse over time. Unless somehow your screen gets so hot that it melts the seal of the screen. Which then means light bleed is the last of your issues.

Anyone else have screen bleeding?

My screen has been like this since day one. In the pictures you can see brighter back light bleeding from the top center/right, the right middle/bottom, and the bottom center/left. Also, a bit of light shines through the white bezel in the bottom center which now that I notice, won't stop bugging me.
Was hoping it would go away but I got this on Amazon so an exchange would be easy as long as it comes back in stock soon (white 32GB).
Is mine the only one plagued with this? Keep in mind that this is with brightness turned all the way up on a black screen.
Yea I have screen bleed at two spots but it doesn't bother me unless for some reason it starts to expand then it will become an issue.
Most LCD panels, which are backlit, will have some light bleed around the edges. You can return the phone for a different one, but you'll probably have the same issue. It is the nature of backlit LCD panels. AMOLEDs don't have this problem since each pixel has its own light source.
Thanks for the input guys!
I don't seem to have this issue on mine. I can't notice anything like this when I turn on Moto Display. Is there an easy way for me to test this out?
the nature of LCD. one of the reasons I enjoy amoled as well.

I have this screen bleeding too.
I've got my device yesterday and started "Dead Pixel Test", on the black screen i saw the screen-bleeding.
All my previous devices didn't have a screen bleeding, or it wasn't noticeable like that.

Display Quality? Who's having issues with light bleed?

Honestly I'm a bit disappointed by the quality of the screen. I have some major light bleed at the lower left hand corner of the screen. Hard to unseen once I've noticed it.
Anyone else experiencing the same?
Lightbleed probably guaranteed from the top half near the camera...
Worth checking that out too...
I must be one of the luckier ones. Zero bleed for me.
Mine was a very early unit too (purchased in Taiwan on release day)
no light bleed here too.
Zero light bleed here. I have one of the pre-order US units.
Light bleed from the second screen but only when brightness is jacked up, which is often for watching video. No better nor worse than my old V10's 2nd screen but disappointing nonetheless.
Hi all I also have no light bleed anywhere on the screen and have to say I have mine on full brightness nearly all of the time and tend to use dark wallpapers so if it was there would of shown by now. I have to also say the screen is absolutely brilliant being bright and clear and one of the reasons I chose the Ultra was for its super LCD over being a amoled screen.

I just went through 2 white U Ultras in Canada...and sadly...both had the same light bleed issues. I really like the device...but in the end...I had to send them back and get a refund. HTC seems good about it though. Maybe I will pick it up again in another couple of months after a price cut.
Black HTC Ultra : No light bleed
HTC or Amazon recognize the light bleed as a defect that justifies the replacement or return with refund?
I have an HTC U Ultra with a light bleed at the lower left corner
Display light leak htc ultra
