So I switched phones yesterday and my Dinc even though disconnected from the verizon nework still has wifi. When I asked them at verizon yesterday if it would they looked at me and said I dont know. But it still connects to the internet no problems. Sweet.
So I guess now I should figure out how to theme and develop.

They just charge you for access to their 3G network, not wifi. You'll be able to use the phone on wifi, no matter what, as long as the phone has wifi it'll always work.

Does anyone else have a problem where wireless tether seems to cause the network connection to become intermittent and sometimes a page won't load?

mines worked perfectly so far, and that's in an area with subpar reception too.
Ive got the latest version of wireless tether for the inc too. I know its not a signal problem, I have a Verizon tower 2 miles from my house and get great 3g reception indoors.

The new versions wifi has problems with me. The version that comes with the 10 minute root video/package, seems to work. I'm having a problem at the moment because I upgraded on accident with a new rom. In the process of trying to fix that.

Recently when I restarted my phone, the 3G symbol doesn't show. Switched to edge and it appeared then switched to 3G again but now can't even connect. Just shows the 4 bars with no edge/3g symbol.

Flashed anything recently? Maybe you're just in a dead zone. What rom and modem are you running?
I haven't rooted my phone yet. My reception is great but it has just acted like this lately.

In that case I'd say its either local interference or perhaps a malfunction with the nearest cell tower. Either way if you haven't rooted yet and it persists, I'd call T-Mobile.
I can now go to edge but still can't to 3g. Thanks. I'll call them.

Also, make sure you're in a 3G area.

Must be the area as aloneinshadow suggested, unless you have changed settings, such as: use only ........ network, intended for battery save. Sorry I can't be more specific but my current rom does not have that option. I just know that 2.1 has it, if you are on Eclair.

I've had my x for about a week and a half now and am using the darkslide rom. I like it a lot but I am having a few issues. I don't know if it's related to the rom or something else.
First the wifi tether is slow. I get about .5 M on a good day. I used to tether on an htc hero and easily got triple with sprint. Also after tethering for ten minutes our so the data will just stop and I have to stop tether and restart to regain connection. I get 1.5M when I use the speed test app on my phone..
What is the deal with verizon visual voicemail? Do you have to pay for that? Just switched from sprint so I'm ignorant on that one.

And the signal strength indicator fluctuates from 1 bar to 4.

What app ate you using to tether with? I usually get 2.2 to 2.4 down. I do have issues with wireless tether losing connection when my screen goes into sleep mode sometimes but when I wake the screen my connection comes back up. Only happens occasionally. It seems to happen less with barnacle wifi tether.

I use WiFI tethering daily and I haven't seen a issue. I used to use the Wireless Tether App from Market and with that I did experience a couple dropouts and some slow speeds.... After I switched to the stock 3G Mobile WiFi App with Team Black Hats' patch I have had ZERO issues.

I'm using the wifi tether app from the market. I guess I'll do some searching to find out how to do the patch thing.
Thanks!

On average I get about 1.5mbps on my tether. Not to shabby I guess.
I recently bought my wife a nexus 4 abs she's been having a problem where when she disconnects from wifi her mobile network won't connect, it says 4g but it's greyed out. I know she should still have connection but she doesn't, everything just times out. Only thing that fixed it was a reboot, anyone else experience this issue? And she's on stock rom, not rooted.

No worries it'll reconnect to the servers.

This only happens to me when my WiFi connection decides to disconnect! Both my Service and WiFi gray out when my WiFi does not work. I have a terrible at&t internet service! But other than that it works properly.

Does it just never turn blue after turning off wifi? Its supposed to turn off mobile data when wifi is on to save battery. It could just be an issue with your carrier
Well like I said a reboot does fix it, from what I understand it's just when disconnecting from wifi. The time interval was about 10 minutes and her mobile data still wasn't connected. We're on tmobile btw. I thought it might just be an n4 issue, I don't experience that issue on my one.

Im not sure why it isnt on the s4 its my biggest let down with this fantastic phone. I did a few search's i havnt seen any fixs. Why has this been removed?
Why would you want to? Hotspot is all you need.

I found it uses way less energy then the wifi hot spot.

Im suprised more people havnt complained about it. With a non mobile network nexus 7 it was very good. Im guessing they took it out cause of slow speed but it still worked great for navigation

Every time you turn on your WiFi you're being logged and tracked.
Spy agency tracked passengers for days through free Wi-Fi

That's why your carrier allows for WiFi tether but disable Bluetooth tethering to encourage users to use wifi and be tracked by the government.
