Hey guy's
I'm just wondering if anyone is experiencing any issues with syncing picasa albums from google accounts
I have 2 google accounts and I've unticked the option on both to not sync pictures to my gallery but yet they still do!
For the 2nd google account i have to remove it from the device completely to get rid of the pictures. If i re-add them and untick the option for pictures it will still appear. The only way for the picasa albums to not sync is to not add that 2nd google account
For my first primary account i was able to get them unsynced when removing the account and re-adding it.
This issue doesnt occur for calendar/contacts/bookmarks
I'm running build Acer_A500_1.139.04_COM_GEN1 and thought i'd run it past xda before i speak to Acer/Factory Wipe device (which i really dont want to do if i can avoid it!)

There are a lot of complaints on Google's android support forum regarding this issue. At least one person solved it by wiping their phone, but that's apparently not a cure for everyone. Apparently this is a known issue, and as usual, Google is not being helpful.
I'm having the same problem with picasa sync. I tried with Hard reset but no luck it still showing error and not syncing with picasa album. all other google services are working fine.

I was having the same problem - It was only grabbing a few old albums of mine and not syncing the newer albums from my Picasa Web Albums - I was so frustrated! But after careful examination, I noticed my wife's Picasa account was the one logged in on the Picasa desktop app, so consequently, it synced all the photos to her web albums and not mine. So I logged out of hers, logged into mine, synced to my web albums, and instantly all my pictures synced to my N1. Hope that helps anybody else having this problem.

it does'nt make sense... you just logged out of your wife's account from YOUR nexus one?
But all of us are having problem for not being able to sync the picasa album at all with our own account...
So what you are saying is that we need to log in onto computer from our account and then the phone should be able to sync the album to N1 while we are logged onto computer ?
please update us with more detailed instructions .. it will be very helpful if you can be more precise
i too am unable to sync with picasa. This is mainly because I created the picasa account after registering the phone and signing in. Using the Cyanogen Recovery image and wiping the phone right now to see if that fixes my issue.
Ill update if it did.
Yup confirmed...
I am running CM 5.0 Beta 5 and doing the Settings > Privacy > Factory Reset doesn't work.. I had to boot into the Recovery Image and do a full wipe of dalvik-cache as well as system wipe.
I just lost all my apps and have to redownload everything however Picasa sync is now showing up for me.
For many people this problem seems to be because they have an @googlemail.com account (even if you sign in with @gmail, the server knows that @googlemail is canonical). A bug has been filed: http://b.android.com/6431
If you look in comments 1 and 2 of that bug, you'll see support forums where Google stated on 19th January that they're aware of the bug and working on it. I have proved that for me in particular it is definitely because of @googlemail, see comment 4 of the bug.
I thought it would be a great idea to sync my work outlook account with Google calendar via Google sync on the desktop.
I synced my outlook to Google calendar just find until I realized that there is no option to select a sub calendar so it synced thousands of events from my outlook to my primary calendar in Google.
Since my Google calendar account is also synced with my phone, my phone now has thousands of events with out the ability to toggle them getting my personal and work calenders all in one.
I went into Google via web, and deleted ALL events and wiped everything clean. I wanted my phone to also be clean. When I synced my phone the changes did not reflect what I did on the web.
I forced synced for the past 8 hours, and turned the phone off twice since then.
I found that it is syncing but not removing the old events. I change the calendar name in the web and it also changes it on my phone. But it never removes all those thousands of events off my phone.
Another test revealed that if I add an event on my phone, it will sync to the web.
If I add an event it will sync to my phone.
If I delete an event on my phone, it will delete it off the web.
Here is the issue, if I delete an event off the web, it does not delete it off my phone.
How can I remove these thousands of entries on my phone now?
I cannot remove my Google account and re-sync because when I tried it said my only option is to factory reset which I prefer not to do.
Thanks.
Try to change your google account password on web. When your phone won't sync then remove that account and add a new account but you can still use the same account name. I hope I make sense.

I got a nexus one just updated it to 2.2 and added contacts exactly how they are on facebook. i tryed to relogging in out and out several times and i noticed some people would get a pic then some would lose a pic???? werid my auto sync is on and i been re syncing 100 times..... and no luck facebook setting is sync contacts in contact list only??? what could be the problem?????? i tryed all this?
its like when i sign out then sign in it updates most of them only when i do that but new contacts after sign in wont update? SO ITS THE AUTO SYNC THAT ISNT SYNCING?
sometimes I got weird problem when syncing gmail too,
solved by deleting account and re-login to account
or clear data for gmail application.
so try first to delete facebook account and re-log into it
if doesn't solve, then delete the account, clear data for facebook application then re-login
good luck
yea when u DELETE the account nad relogin it will sync but thne when u add one right after it wont sync. Basically the only way to sync is add all the contacts and sign out sign back in there isnt auto sync that works
I recently upgraded to Froyo and am now having serious problems with synching calendar items which were created on the device by third-party applications. To be more precise I used Call Log Calendar until now to log messages and calls to a dedicated Google Calendar. The entries do appear on my i9000 but never get synched to the online version of the calendar - unless I open them with the integrated calendar app and save them once (without changing anything). The author of the programm actually confirmed that this problem exists under Samsung's version of Froyo (due to a change/bug in the calendar api). All third-party programs should be affected. Could someone please confirm this?
I can confirm this after just checking my "Call Logs" work calendar and seeing zero events since upgrading to Froyo. Forcing a sync didn't change anything, either. Nuts.
maybe try re-adding your user account to the phone to sync with Gmail account
then forcing a sync, and see if successive syncs are automatic or not
You can't remove a primary Google Account unless you do a factory reset. However, I did even that. Still doesn't work. I'm loosing faith in Samsung....
samsung / google are 2 separate entities
how can you blame samsung when it's google account sync that is not working?
now if more than 51% of the XDA owners of SGS have the same problem, then we can say it's a samsung problem
but when most of the owners have no problem syncing their phones with google, then it just leaves to be a problem with the specific unit you are using, or something to do with your account
there was a trick some one mentioned on another topic to fix bugs in google accounts
you have to login to youtube or link up your gmail account with the youtube account, then it'll fix whatever was the problem that was preventing you from syncing.
i had a similar issue before and it worked indirectly, i actually found out it was a problem with the name of my account that google didn't like, according to youtube
I have my Google Calendar set to sync.. and I have my Calendar online show friends bdays and they all show up just fine on the website. But it doesn't seem like they sync to the phone. Any ideas why?

I had problem with google calendar updating. In the calendar I would hit refresh with no effect. If you go to the main menu, settings, sync, and hit the gmail sync, I think it syncs correctly then. Since I manually sync all my apps for battery reasons I just put the "sync all" widget on my homescreen and press it when I want everything to update. Hope that makes some kind of sense and helps.

I've tried to do a manual sync as well. The 'Us Holidays' calendar shows up on my phone. But not the Birthdays. I put the birthdays in my Gmail contacts.. They sync to the calendar online without a problem. For some reason they just don't go to my phone
I had this problem with a friend's shared calendar and was able to fix it.
Verify under Google Calendar you are actively viewing that calendar
Under Accounts and disable the calendar sync for your google account
Under Applications, clear data for "Calendar Storage" note this is different from "Calendar"
Re-enable the calendar sync to resync
That should work. If not, try reversing the order. I did it myself, and a friend of mine fixed his phone after i gave him similar directions.

Worked perfect. Can't believe I didn't think of that before. Thanks.
Actually. It worked for some people but not all. So weird.
