ok you kno when u start your device for the first time or hard rest it, when u slide the phone up and down and the screen is so responsive. But after when it boots up its sluggis. Is there anything out there to make the screen change faster.
Or is there a rom out there with great speed with slowing down the phone?
HelpPlease
Hi rod1189,
I was searching the same thing and tried many of the ROMs, by the way thanks to ROM developers effort and time they gave the privilege of trying different ROMS, finally I am using Just2Clean and I think it is fast, of course not that responsive cause I think it depends on the hardware but when you slide the keyboard it takes about a second to respond, and boot time is nearly 42 seconds.
Overclock it? I have mine set at 312. It's awesome.
Here is the average speed of mine.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnBkfl2pC00
I use JustMe from ivanmmj, overclock to 299 and remove all the unneeded today plugins using Today Plugin Uninstaller.
On the video I am still using HTC Home but I use a simple rltoday xml skin and it even sped things up more.
But dosent overclocking eat up the battery. and how log does yours battery last b/c mines get drained like crazy without any kind of overclocking program
Battery life on my wing has consistently been under 8 hours for constant use (sms, web(using opera mini) games. Cut that number in half if I use wifi and Skyfire. 48 hours for standby with only sms and a few calls. It doesn't matter if I overclock or not my battery life is pathetic. Honestly I am used to it and just enjoy using my phone. I use a car charger alot when I am away for extended periods of time. My wife has an Xperia and her device last two times more than mine given both scenarios. It is just the battery quality. You might consider buying a bigger better battery if it is an issue.
Note: These are my personal averages and are not metered and verified by any official source.
Mine battery life is great even with overclocking. I can last 3 days without charging but thats just texting and talking. If i use Wifi and internet program(skyfire, opera,IE) it can drain my battery fairly quick. But i only use wifi for short periods at a time anyway.
well if this helps in anyway to determine the problem mines is a
VLN-08
1200mAh
3.7v.
buy a new battery man mines 2000 maah it last me exactly nine hours wit wifi n da battery i bought its called an extended battery for wing so my battery is around 80% longer than da original
highly recomend the battery fix for you.... If your wing is flashed, then you will get bad battery life. period. the cooks need to have the battery fix in the rom or you need the battery fix seporatly if your flashing.
for wizard but the fix works.

Draining before Charging
I have been hearing that people have said that its best to drain your battery and then charge it. Is that true? Because they say on cooked roms they dont give accurate battery readings. And they also drain quick as well.
Any Help would be appreciated.

How long did it end up lasting after you did that. Did our battery stop losing power % like every 8-10 mins. Mines do that now. Now im like whats the point of having new rom for the wing if its juss gonna die this quick with no overclocking or anything.

Hi there folks! So, the galaxy s2, it's an awesome phone, the best i ever had, probably as powerful as a decent netbook. almost impossible to make it lag, the screen is awesome etc... but there's a serious drawback, which is making me want to go back to the iphone4, the battery life. i know, there are bazillions of threads about it, but come on, all people reply to those threads are suggestions, almost placebo like. e.x. "use juice defender", "turn off wifi, gps..", come on, these are not solutions. even with minimal usage, i can barely get a day out of my samsung, with heavy usage, i have to charge it 3 times a day, and considering that it uses a stupid and extremely low current limiter through the chipset (around 500 mili amps?) it takes 3 hours to charge it. for comparison, i have a asus transformer with the keyboard dock, hell, this makes me even more sad with the galaxys, as the transformer, lasts a whole day (at least 14-15hrs) at 70% brightness while gaming.
so, what the problem samsung? I'm using Ninphetamine's kernel with lightening rom (all up to date), i tried other kernels, other roms, but all of them have this issue, even when everything was stock, a day of minimal usage. here are some screens, android os is consuming most of the battery, does the section "android os" also include the kernel battery consumption?
is there a extended version of the android built in battery usage, a more specific one?
Works fine for me. Get a grip and read around. Easily get 3 days with average use.

I hope you wipe battery in between your rom flashes...
I am Heavy user and it lasts me around 13-15 hours and am on stock not rooted.
Besides was curious How heavy you use it cause If you are like sitting whole day with it you are better off on the computer I guess

If you are using ninphetamine and an android 2.3.4 ROM and still having battery issues, it's your problem. You have an app installed that drains battery, this is not a suggestion, this is fact. Do a completely clean install of an original dev rom, remove google latitude if it's included (known to drain battery).
If you aren't making it through atleast a full day of heavy use with that setup, then it's a hardware problem and you should RMA it.

well no, i never wipe my battery, why would i ? battery drainage by android os seems to be consistent. well just in case its a magic trick, i'll try it now
The transformer is a tablet, of course it has space for a huge battery extended by another huge battery in the keyboard. Perhaps you have a faulty battery that's not keeping charge well because I get nearly a whole day on a single charge, med to heavy use. And juice defender is a legitimate program that actually works, its not a placebo. Get a grip and stop blaming legitimate programs, or else no one will take you seriously. Read around, try some different roms, but it might just be a bad battery, if you have warranty, get the battery replaced. It couldn't hurt to try.

Well threes your problem. Its not a magic trick, its fact. Do it every time you install a new rom Also, as I said before, it might be a hardware problem.
15 hours off charger, 53% battery left, 1 hr voice calls, 1 hr screen on. Not bad I'd say. I've maintained everything on except bluetooth. I have google talk, and trillian, whatsapp, facebook, tuenti, push email and a couple other things going on in the background like twitter and such, and I couldn't be happier. Well, if it could make me breakfast . I'd say you're doing something wrong. Stock, 2.3.3 not rooted. I'm just a normal geek joe!

So far I've used VillainROM with ninphetamine which gave great battery life, and MIUI with the kernel included which is also pretty good (not as good as villainrom with ninphetamine though). As daily ROM I use MIUI though since I love the interface and theming options.

I wouldn't suggest Cyanogen at this time, it works pretty well but it's not a stable or near final release. Also you can't use ninphetamine with Cyanogen without breaking things since ninphetamine was made for stock ROMs.
Battery wipe DOES help. I can say that with confidence cause I have seen the effect.

Like everyone said: Wipe Battery Stats, and/or switch to VillainRom. I dont think Lite'ning produces the best battery life in my experience. I couldnt stand the rom.
And one of the good things about Android phones is that you can buy an extended battery from ebay. They're quite affordable as well
I get crazy battery life on Litening rom. You need to do factory reset before or after installation.
I installed lean kernel, also debloat, freeze all the apps that i found in different forums and i still have a sucky battery life how can i fix this?

There's many ways, learn to tweak your kernel, a good place to start is HERE - Lower screen birghtness, have a decent signal. If you're using your phone flat out it'll rinse your battery.
You got over 4hrs SOT in 12hrs from the average time on calculator, and 3 hrs real time more or less, that's actually not that bad, it's average-decent battery.
There's so many ways, you have to learn how your phone works really, it's all trial and error. There isn't a simple "get better battery" method.
Thanks for the input if my battery life is average then i wont worry about it anymore its just that i read a lot of users that can have 6 to 7 hours of screen time i thought my phone is defective

6-7 hours is achieved by pretty much using the device for nothing and disabling everything. People who have silly SOT's by putting the device in Airplane mode and having brightness on super low, and not using any app.
AOSP ROMs can have better battery life due to not not sucking up as many resources as a Samsung ROM. But again, you can tweak your kernel settings to suit your needs.

Thank you so much you have been very helpful, if i change my rom to AOSP how much more screentime will i get? Just an estimate is enough
Depending on the kernel you use, plus the ROM I guess 4-6 hours is achievable.

How about my case? I have 6 apps installed and on CM11 nightly, and only getting 3 hours SOT from 100% to 0%.
It's really all down to the kernel and the tweaking of it. CM stock kernel was never great for me either, use a custom one.

Hi I've recently just bought my Note 4 and coming from my iPhone 5 where the battery was terrible I'm just unsure if my battery is okay on my note. I have it rooted through chainfires custom rom and I read that sometimes roms can affect battery performance in a negative way and I hadn't had my phone long, a day if that before I rooted so I can't really compare stock battery to having the custom rom installed. I've posted pics of my battery performance and also I've noticed my battery drop 1% every 4-5 mins whilst growing the Internet through WiFi is this normal? I have done things already like turning off GPS, locations services , Bluetooth, voice search , Google voice and NFC ect also my brightness is set to auto. Any help would be very much appreciated thank you.
Everything looks just about fine. Enjoy your new phone :victory:

Thanks for clarifying I've just been obsessing over battery life because of my previous phone lol, also just to ask is the usage of the Android os and android system fine ? As when I've seen other people's they have been much lower. Thanks.

Yeah, I get more or less the same. You have a day with 5h SoT and 25% left, meaning you could get at least one more hour of screen. That's as good as it gets. You could probably improve even on that, but you would have to block some apps or functions, reduce luminosity etc. In my opinion, it's not worth it.

When i switch another rom, every time my battery draining is terrible so i think this is the battery states fault.
Anyone tell me what is the better way to fix this issue?

What do you mean?
It's normal for a rom to use more battery the first time you use it. Besides that there is no such thing as a fake battery state.
Ok sir
I use amlify, freenify, and boot manager but...
After 3 days using this rom or every CM based rom i lost 25% of battery on 7 hour without using my device.
Sorry for my bad english.

well obviously everything that is not plugged-in , on the electricity needs power to run, but i think you lost the point of his message,
i think he means that 25% is a lot, for a phone in no use.

I lose more with data on. I think it's normal result for 7 hours.
Custom ROMs need a "settling in" period where the software polls the hardware for its capabilities. The OP may simply be impatient and expecting instant benefits from the ROM without giving it a chance to adjust itself to the hardware. 25% in 7 hours is typical for someone not using Greenify, but it's arguably high for someone using that app. If the OP isn't being impatient, it makes me wonder how old the OP's battery is, since a new battery shouldn't be having this much drain.
The OP would greatly benefit from updating to an Android 6 ROM. In situations where the phone is simply sitting there, Doze kicks Greenify's a** all over the park.
