I updated via kies to 2.2 JPL.
After that I noticed bad bugs in 2.2 and I realised that it was a mistake to update to froyo. I flashed [email protected] samfirmware and I think that phone's CSC is different than original.. Now I want to know where I can find official 2.2 JPL firmware or that 2.1. If someone knows what firmware is Finnish stock eclair or froyo,by calling *#1234#, I would be grateful. I just want that my phone is like out of the box..
you can uptade official froyo via kies in finland?
My phone came with I5800XXJG3 (bought it from Ideapark Lempäälä) and you can find that from samfirmware's site. I also didn't know you could upgrade through KIES now?
Either way, if it gives me JPL I'ma just ditch it, since I'm loving this JPM

It does not have the link for the KB3 update.
Maybe you could try actually reading the op or the thread itself !!
GRI54, KB3: Not Released
KB3 is released... its the radio that was included with 2.3.3 for Europe
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=975105
KD1 is the radio that came with 2.3.4
I wish proper would read. The 2.3.4 update is not released. Individual parts are available and you have options available if you are desperate for the upgrade.

I quoted from the other thread so gri54,kb3 not released means 2.3.4 not released for gri54 KB3 !
Just got a text from bell telling me I could update my phone through Samsung Kies. I'm running Darky's Stable 9.5 right now, do I have to flash stock rom before going for gingerbread?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
most likely unless you use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=959806 to trick kies into thinking you got a stock one for your refion etc.
I just got this message too, but i highly doubt its gingerbread. Anyone actually find out what the update is?
I got the same message. Can anyone confirm that it is for Gingerbread?
Hehe, is anyone left using a stock rom? Lol

Same....
Need some confirmation.
I just received the same text from Bell.
There is a new version of keis to install. Once installed it's showing I have the latest firmware at KC1.
Not sure what this is all about. Hopefully a prelude to gingerbread.
same here , hoping someone here can post what this does for them , im not on stock and not really wanting to find out the hard way what it is.
bell.ca/galaxyupdate
So from reading the information, there is no word on exactly what is being upgraded other than software. From speculation, wouldn't that mean it has to be 2.3 at least.
I just got the same text message so I plugged into Kies. It says this is the latest firmware. I upgraded my Kies last night and I am still on stock firmware (KC1). So the wait continues I guess.
I called Samsung support and was told that they were being flooded by calls over this today and that the notification was for the KC1 update. I've been running KC1 for about a month now... Bell Mobilty Canada slack much?

Are you serious?! That makes me so sad.
*sigh*
What a letdown...
Either way, thanks for the confirmation. Now we all know the reason the text was sent out from Bell. Our only hope now is that they (Bell) is trying to push everyone to update their phones to the latest firmware in preparation for Gingerbread.
KC1 compared to JL2?
Need some advice here. I'm still on JL2 (rooted). Thinking about upgrading to KC1, but I hear that doing so wipes out the root, and it's very difficult to root it again on 2.2.1. I also read that some people find the GPS performance went down with KC1.
So what are the actual advantages of upgrading to KC1? Or am I better off just holding out for Gingerbread?

You're misinformed. Rooting 2.2.1 is just as easy as 2.2. But it doesn't matter because KC1 is still 2.2, not 2.2.1.
KC1 any good?
So what are the advantages of KC1 over JL2?
Can I still apply oneclickroot on KC1 to root it?

Honestly, if you are 100% happy with JL2 I don't think KC1 would be worth upgrading to. Wait for Gingerbread or flash JVK/JVB yourself. I believe there are some fixes in regards to how roaming is handled but there's nothing you would actually notice.
The new update is just a modem upgrade that gives support for using this device overseas. It does wipe out root but superoneclick 1.9.1 reroots it easily.

i assumed it was for KC1 since i never got any notice from them when it first came out. The KC1 modem apparently uses a fair bit more battery and it supposed to improve using your phone in the US.
JS8 with the JL2 modem has been the best to me so far.
If this is the case I won't bother to update to KC1, JL2 works just fine with my rooted ROM .
Does anyone know if Bell is even testing Gingerbread?
htc just released ginger for desire hd and incredible... saw it on engagdet... ffs samsung get off you butt and give the galaxy s a true gingerbread update

I thought it was bell that is slow with the updates. Doesn't bell add their extra stuff for the i9000m specifically? Whatever the case though, someone's definitely dropping the ball on the updates.
Ok recently i flashed my friends sgs i9000 to stock uk eclair. But she wants to use skype so i got it came home plugged into kies to upgrade to jpy froyo. However Kies say "enjoy your gingerbread update" update twice eclair-froyo, froyo-gingeread
So i updated to jpy. But when i tried updating again it says that this is the latest version.....wth....

JPY is the latest UK rom at the moment. There is no gingerbread for the UK, yet.

Stick with JPY if she wants to use Skype, there's a thread on here about the Gingerbread battery drain and Skype was mentioned as one of the possible culprits (just by having it installed). Not sure it's been proven but if Skype's a must have for her then it would be worth looking into before upgrading. Had a quick look for the thread but couldn't find it, haven't time to look properly. I'm on Gingerbread and I like it but I had JPY with the voodoo speedmod kernel and loved it. If she's not into modding the phone stick with JPY and voodoo.
Kies is an unpredictable piece of crap anyway
Hmmm that is strange...why on earth did it say that then????
Has this happened to anyone else?
Kies and phone all untouched. U.K stock.
Its been quite some time since jvh or w.e came out for nordic regions, how not for U.K???

Yep it's happened to me in the past and I'll bet if you do a search here you'll find plenty of others it's happened to. Nothing wrong with your phone, it's just Kies, it's crap lol.
Don't think we'll see JVH for UK (XEU I think),for a while yet.
Ok, I'm quite new to the forums and want to say hi first.
So here is my question.
I wanted to root my phone so I flashed it with UK generic 2.3.2 with flashtool and then rooted it with gingerbreak. And then updated to 2.3.3 ota. Now when I'm checking for the new 2.3.4 I can't find it.
Is there any problem that I live in a Nordic country? Or is it just that my carrier hasn't released it?
Sincerely

Welcome ,
Most likely your carrier hasnt released it yet
If your impatient, you can visit this thread to get 2.3.4 and root
