Does Gingerbread 2.3.4 on the nexus have a data log at all? If yes, where is it? And if not, which is a good one to download?

Try aLogCat from the market. It lets you see the application and event logs if that's what you're after

Thank you mindwalkr. Can you please confirm that there is no native data logger. I find it amazing.

I'm not an expert in Android yet but I think there's no native (as in bundled with the phone) software to see the logs. However with the Google SDK and using ADB via USB you can see them. This aLogCat and other similar software allows you to see the logs from the phone itself which makes it obvious that the logs are there, but you can't see them with a stock Gingerbread. Maybe with a file explorer you can get access to them as well but again you have to download a file explorer from the market so yeah... no native way to check the logs without having the phone connected to a PC.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Hi all, first post so go easy on me not sure i'm in the right forum, had my dhd for about two weeks now and can't fault the phone, but tried to get internet banking on it and can't seem to get it to download, I followed all of the instructions on the lloydstsb website and I get as far as downloading a file (downloadclient.jad) but when I try to open it the phone asks me to complete action using either DB editor or file editor, if I then open it with either I just get a load of text? i'm stuck, any help would be great.
P.s the program is monitise
Thanks hOOter343.............
Just go through the site as you normally would.
Change your browser to non-mobile view in the settings.
Just make sure your on https and not on a public wifi network.
I didn't bother with the app, lose your phone and your buggered.
Thanks flacid monkey, will do that it seems safer.

I use the app bluetooth file transfer, it is available on the market. I used it last night to transfer files and it worked flawlessly.

I keep getting an error that says that I some service doesn't work with the phone and that I can only upload. When I upload, it doesn't work. Perhaps the G2 doesn't support Bluetooth file transfers. Is that possible?
Do you need it installed on both devices?

Yes you have to install the app on both devices. I am not familiar with the G2 as I use it with D1 and the A500. From what I remember reading a while back the android BT is lacking on some of the stack that allows for file transfers. This app fixes it.

Just to let you know I am able to transfer files from the a500 to my Samsung galaxy and vice versa using the stock bluetooth on both devices. On the a500 I used file manager hd and selected share via bluetooth. Once they both connect the files transfer without any problems.
I think default android bluetooth filetransfer only allows certain types of files, like .jpg's and some other media.
Not 100% sure though, but I never managed to send files like apk's.
Bluetooth File Transfer worked perfectly and is actually a pretty cool app! Thanks!
Dropbox works too. I use it across my phone, tablet, and computer.

I use the bluetooth add-on for astro, no problems getting stuff to or from my DZ, which is the same hardware as the g2.

Even easier if you have the Dropbox app on both devices.
If you want to use bluetooth, below is one way of doing it:
- install ES File Manager ("ESFM") on both devices
- Enable Bluetooth on both and pair the devices
- Start ESFM (both devices) Menu -> Settings -> Layout Settings and make sure that "Remove Bluetooth" is unchecked. (By default it is checked).
- Go to the Bluetooth Tab in ESFM on the device you want to transfer the files TO**
You should see the other ("FROM") device.
(Multi-) Select, Copy (in the Bluetooth Tab in ESFM), then switch to the Local tab & Paste.
** I think you will see a brief Toast notification that ESFM has started a server process of some sort; can't remember if it happens on both devices. In principle this is symmetric, so you should be able to transfer files in either direction.
cheers
Make a backup, email it to yourself, restore backup. This is done with titanium backup if you have root

My question is: I usually delete apps like this: in app manager:wipe cache, wipe data, uninstall
This way,The app will totally be deleted?I mean no junk files,no system files,no hidden files will be left from the app?
That's what I do. However there usually send to be done stuff left behind.
So I just go thru every now and then and get rid of it.
Idk why it does not go 100% away.

I would like to know the best way to do this as well. Lite Flow left all kinds of information on my phone after deleting it, including access to pretty much all the information on my phone. Is there a way, after the fact, to clear all of its data from my phone?

Have you tried any file explorer ?
I use es explorer to delete system files.
Haven't checked it that it completely deletes the file or not.

My phone is rooted and I have es explorer; the problem is that I have no clue where that kind of information is stored on Android (Like in Windows I know it would pretty much all be in the Program Files directory and in the Registry. If data is stored similar to my Linux desktops, then the information can be all over the place and not consistent from program to program).
EDIT: I contacted the developer and he told me what directory to delete, and that fixed the problem.
