E:can't mount /sdcard - Galaxy S I9000 General

I have CM7 Nightly #23, with CWM v4.0.
I'm trying to flash #26, but I'm getting the "E:can't mount /sdcard" error when trying to select the zip.
If I go into the Mounts and Storage menu, and try mounting /sdcard, it gives "Error mounting /sdcard!"
It mounts fine when Android is running and also when mounting the phone as USB storage in CWM, so it's obviously not a hardware error.
Any ideas?

Follow those steps.

It corrected the issue for me.

Rom Flashing Error

Im trying to flash my rom to a 2.2 super clean eb01 rom. Im currently on an EB01 baseband and a DJ30 Build, tried to update to a the jt1134 eb01 kernal w/ voodoo lagfix and i didnt think it took either. the error im getting is:
E:Cant mount dev/block/mmcblk0 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0p1)
(Device or resource busy)
E:Cant mount SDCARD:/update.zip
any idea?
probably would help to mention that even in CMW when i go to advanced and i try to use the mound /sdcard it still says device or resource busy ERROR mounting SDCARD: !
Not sure why, when the phone boots everything is fine and the SD card functions perfectly normal
hmm even with reformating the sd card and everything still says it cant be mounted in CMW
had to reflash CWM through odin, all is well in the universe
corrupted installation...
E:Cant mount dev/block/mmcblk0 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0p1)
That's the internal data partition not on the SDcard, your voodoo/non-voodoo installation is corrupted. You won't be able to save settings, widgets, etc... Everything usually disappearing and settings lost on reboots.
Try to restart the install fresh from beginning using the DI01 Odin tar package.

[Q] error formatting.

Hello all ,
After trying to upgrade a rom in cwm. i got a error updating rom (error in zip file)
I verfied zip was ok , and it was.
Now i'm stock at htc bootlogo.
i can get in bootloader/fastboot/recovery
Flashing gives the same error, same for restore.
If i try to format with cwm i get (depending on what partition i try to format)
- error formatting /system
- error formatting /cache
- error formatting /data
What to do ??
Thanks ,
Greetings , arnold
Are you getting a bunch of error messages when you go into recovery like:
E:Cant mount /cache/
if so, check this thread its a hardware issue.

Go into mount, maybe you click unmount cache first

ZTE blade in bootloop and clockworkmod seems broken

I recently flashed my device with a CM7.2 rom which seem to have gone wrong, as it is stuck in a bootloop. I can get into clockwork recovery with volume down, but it can't access the sdcard, it gives me "Error mounting /sdcard!".
I tried partitioning the sdcard which seems to work fine (ends with Done!), but formatting gives "Error mounting sdcard", "skipping format".
Trying to use mount USB storage gives the error "E:Unable to write to ums linfile (No such file or directory).
I'm having a hard time figuring out how to recover from this mess, as the device dosen't show in adb devices when I boot it with volume up and the sdcard dosent seem to be mountable.
Any suggestions?
In cwm, go to advanced : mounts and storage : mount /sdcard

[Q] mount external sd in recovery

hi,
i use Reflex rom from Civato (many thanks Civ:good.
Everything work fine in normal use (also the data/file in external microsd)
My first problem: when i install V8UNLOCKED multi ICS BOOTLOADER installed whit CWM
the process end fine but in recovery i see at the top: CWM Recovery v5.5.0.x(thor2002ro/digitex rev1.7.3)
And, after istallation when i back to Power menu i have:
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
The second problem, maybe connected whit the first:
Each time i try to install a rom update from external sd i have the following message :
E:Can´t mount /sdcard/
If I remove my SD, and insert it again, it mounts and i can update the rom.
I'v tried to wiping cache & dalvik partitions but both problems remain...
p.s.sorry for the mistakes in English and the noob questions..

? The MicroSD card that you can remove from the top should mount as /external_sd/
As for the messages about not able to open the log files could be...
1. The logs do not exist
2. The mount or location its referencing does not exist or is not mounted
3. They exist but you have no permissions to get to them
Sorry I cant be of much help in resolving... I am sure someone will pop on with a solution for you...

Right. The log files do non exist in sdcard. or in external_sd.
But. why I see. :CWM Recovery v5.5.0.x(thor2002ro/digitex rev1.7.3) at the top after I install the V8UNLOCKED ?
And what about the probmem whit read the external_sd in recovery mode:
E:Can´t mount /sdcard/
If I remove my microsd and insert it again, it mounts perfectly ?
